Welcome everyone! I'm starting the thread early because I have to be up and out of the house at stupid o'clock tomorrow morning.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to enter your starting weight

If you don't want to put your weight on the public spreadsheet, you can enter it on the weight tracker. (This probably won't be available until tomorrow morning)

If you've joined up very recently, and your name isn't on the spreadsheet, just add it on at the bottom - the very lovely SayraT will re-alphabetize everything later.

Oh

:)

RatherBeOnThePiste · 05/10/2014 12:33

So DH makes us all a bacon sandwich, chunky bread and everything.

I didn't ask for it and I don't want it. And now I'm made to feel guilty. Not fair is it? Sad

Tanukisan · 05/10/2014 12:47

Subconscious sabotage...my DH recently started adding a spoon of sugar to bolognese sauces, just after I'd announced I was stopping sugar. Very perplexing.

Hissy · 05/10/2014 14:15

Rather just eat the bacon.

tanukisian tell him you'll make your own, and anyway, pasta's off the menu anyway.

it's funny how those we love react to our choices to improve ourselves.

keep strong everyone. be determined, no matter what, to do what's right for you.

prettybird · 05/10/2014 14:18

Just had to make American pancakes and maple syrup for dh and ds Hmm

....but I made myself "pancakes" with a beaten egg, a heaped spoonful of cream cheese, a spoonful of ground almonds and a teaspoon of baking powder Grin. They were very nice - will maybe try a wee bit more cream cheese next time and serve up with some bacon (or whipped cream)

Hello healthy lovelies! I've had a not very healthy not very bootcampish weekend, but I'm raring to get back on it now as I've definitely started reaping the benefits for my two weeks' effort so far.

some highlights are: I wore a bias-cut so totally cheating as I'm really a 14 size 10 long magenta monsoon dress I've had for 13 years since pre-marriage and kids to a party on Fri and received compliments. Didn't even bother with my usual sausage-skin undergarment thing.

-Also, my SIL, whose unfortunately boozy birthday party it was on Sat said I was looking much slimmer.

-Also, I haven't been hungry in the daytimes and I'm really enjoying cooking and eating lots of lovely fatty homemade food.

I could still do with losing 2 or more stone and I'm sure the scales won't be very encouraging tomorrow, but I am so confident that it won't matter. Someone remind me of all this sickening optimism if I ever get too whiney...

So here I go on a proper 2-week wine-free veg-tastic water-sloshing bc, only a week behind the rest of you.

spamm · 05/10/2014 15:07

All go here today, a very busy weekend with lots of errands to run, before I fly to London and Sweden on a business trip this week.

Anyway, I had a carby dinner last night at friends' new house - it was their first dinner in their new home, so I did not want to say no to things, but I think I managed ok. I will let them know about my diet today, so that I am not in that sitauation again - I feel rididculous eating food so as not to hurt somebody's feelings, when I know that I am projecting how I think they might feel, because food is such a big deal to me. I have no idea if they would react in the same way at all.

Yesterday:
B: scrambled eggs with butter and cream, turkey sausage
L: salad with steak
S: cheese stick and pork rinds
D: steak, roasted veg, Caesar salad and 1 glass red wine, lots of water, bad dessert, but small portion
W: 3 ltrs

Decided not to weigh myself today, did not want to be upset by it. And I am not sure I am going to be able to weigh myself tomorrow, I have to be up a 3.30am for a 5.00am flight - agghhhhh!

Today:
Brunch: poached eggs, bacon, turkey sausage and fried mushrooms in butter
Snack: ??
D: food at the movies, going to see The Equalizer. I know they have salads and chicken wings, and lots of water.

readyforno2 · 05/10/2014 15:11

I think you might be right BIWI. Will try to cut down on dairy. Think I'll find that quite difficult though. I love cheese..

Had a pretty good day yesterday. Today has been ok too. Just been for lunch in the local and had chicken fajitas (without the tortillas) and salad. The dc were away so we didn't get up early enough for breakfast Blush

ChesterDrawers · 05/10/2014 15:56

OMG just tried kale crisps for the first time. Amazing! Second batch in the oven already (it is lunch, I hasten to add).

First times used chilli, garlic powder and onion salt, and this time just olive oil, salt and black pepper. Anyone found any good flavour combinations? Think these are going to become a favourite.

SayraT · 05/10/2014 17:18

Ooh chester you just reminded me.

I bought some wee flavour grinder thingy in Tesco the other night. It has garlic, dalt, pepper and chilli in it. I used some with my eggs in a cup this afternoon and plan on having some over my roast chicken tonight.

There were all sorts of different flavours and I intend to try some more.

It was like this but its not that one and can't find the one I got on the website Confused

outtolunchagain · 05/10/2014 17:20

Is it OK if I am starting a week late , I have had a fairly lo carb week but had several things this week that I knew were going to be difficult . Tomorrow I am on strict bootcamp , have cleared a couple of weeks to get a really good start .

ChesterDrawers · 05/10/2014 17:26

Ooooh they look great Sarya, just the thing for my newfound kale addiction four bowls in and I realise there WILL be carbs in this. Will have a look next times am in Tesco.

scousadelic · 05/10/2014 17:35

Whoever was asking about thickening gravy. I think you could try Xanthan gum, that seems to be used on a lot of US low carb sites . I bought some at Lakeland but haven't tried it yet.

Sayra I use Schwartz Season-All, which is a mix of stuff, instead of salt and it is very nice

Had a fry up this morning which is never a bad thing and tea will be beef with swede dauphinoise and broccoli. Not been too bad this week, my only transgressions have been a couple of Atkins bars which are processed rubbish but at least are low carb processed rubbish. I plan to be as good as I can be in the coming week but next weekend we are going away for DH's birthday and the food will be outside my control for a lot of it

BIWI · 05/10/2014 17:52

Welcome outtolunchagain!

TheNutmegofconsolation · 05/10/2014 18:06

I always keep an Atkins bar in my handbag for emergencies!Wink

B- bacon, mushrooms, egg, tomato
L - chicken in tarragon sauce with kale and spinach
D- not sure yet, maybe smoked mackerel and salad. Not feeling hungry yet.

ClashCityRocker · 05/10/2014 18:36

Argh, power cut!

Should be back on at midnight, but will need to be a takeaway tonight.

Determined not to let this knock me back though. I'm thinking maybe chicken tikka from the Indian - I'm guessing saucy curries will be out? Obviously no rice or naan.

Really peeved off!

YoureMyWifeNowDave · 05/10/2014 19:05

Clash I had a chicken and mushroom saagwala from the indian takeaway last night and it was delicious and hopefully pretty low carb, i had done some cauli rice to have with it but it would have been ok without as well

CharlieSierra · 05/10/2014 19:23

Bit of a nightmare day with family round, carbfest for everyone else but very happy to say I didn't succumb. I didn't look after myself properly though, so ended up just having some of my lovely baked ham with a green sald and was hungry after they all left so I just roasted myself some cauliflower and mushrooms and scoffed the leftover ham with it. I made them all take the leftover cake home.

SixImpossible · 05/10/2014 19:31

Chester, try sesame seeds and thyme, or smoked paprika and garlic. Always with olive oil and salt, of course.

yongnian · 05/10/2014 19:48

Good day here...despite family round and both cake and biscuits on offer, both of which I refused. PREEN.
B: bacon fried egg and mushrooms cooked with butter
L: chorizo, spinach, cucumber, mayo, guacamole, toms and carrots (bc lite bfing)
D: beef mince bolognese with shallots, celery and carrot, plenty of Parmesan and buttered broccoli and sugar snap peas
S: olives
W: 2.5 litres so far, more to go
E: rest day
3 or 4 cups tea
Loving it. Finding it relatively easy to stick to, feel good, love the results. Looking forward to weigh-in tomorrow !!
Grin
Ps the inevitable has happened, DH has twigged what I'm up to and rushed to join me....ah well!

Figrus · 05/10/2014 19:57

B: mushrooms, rasher ,eggs
L: homemade soup
D: cauliflower mash, salmon fillet
S: olives

Water3.5 litres

I'm constipated :-(.

fairylightsintheloft · 05/10/2014 20:08

Pret sell kale crisps Smile handy for if you are out and about though they may not be as LC as home made. Everyone ready for weigh in tomorrow??

Tanukisan · 05/10/2014 20:24

I am fairylights, even though I know I'm still nearly 20 lbs heavier than I was in January (shocking really), I feel much happier about myself than I did this time last week.

BitchyTakesOnManagement · 05/10/2014 20:47

food today?
2 eggs scrambled, 2 pieces of bacon
lots of water.

Am off to bed. Head is pounding felt too sick to eat most of the day. Bastard migraines.

Outtolunchagain i am restarting this week so you will have company.

BIWI · 05/10/2014 20:48

Not much food, and not much fat or veg obvious there, Figrus - fat, plenty of water and more veg will all help you.
