Welcome everyone! I'm starting the thread early because I have to be up and out of the house at stupid o'clock tomorrow morning.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to enter your starting weight

If you don't want to put your weight on the public spreadsheet, you can enter it on the weight tracker. (This probably won't be available until tomorrow morning)

If you've joined up very recently, and your name isn't on the spreadsheet, just add it on at the bottom - the very lovely SayraT will re-alphabetize everything later.

Fell of the wagon last night. Too much temptation. Was a carby twat. Back on it tonight but do not expect the scales to be kind and already planned to stay on bootcamp when the 2 thread weeks of it are up.

Hopefully all the heavy furniture moving I am doing atm will help to work off some of the sugar stores.

SixImpossible · 05/10/2014 00:07

aNote - me too! (Shanna Tova Wink) How did it go? I had a bag of pine seeds stashed in my bag, just in case, but needn't have worried. There were hard boiled eggs, raw veg, hummus, tuna mayo, fish balls, as well as all the usual delights. So pleased that I managed to fast and also to break my fast without compromising.

ChesterDrawers · 05/10/2014 08:15

Morning all, still keeping off the scales. I tell you, there'd better be some significant weightloss tomorrow or I will be GUTTED!

No real plan today, which is a bit worrying. Breakfast will be a fry up, bacon, scrambled eggs, mushrooms. Am at a kids party over lunch so will need to avoid whatever is on offer and eat when we get home. Tea w supposed to be slow cooker pork, but as it's still in the freezer Blush I might have to rethink.

I'm really pleased at how much I've enjoyed this week. Could have done with a glass of wine last night but other than that I've not missed my old WOE one bit.

Pisseslikeahorse · 05/10/2014 08:46

"BING BONG" - morning all

you wouldn't guess I've just been for a cold 'sunrise' run and had some keema curry and eggs for breakfast, yum Smile
Going to have some aversion therapy today by making a Christmas cake but first its time to go and chase the kids around and drink more coffee

B. Keema and eggs
L. avocado salad
D. Slow roast pork

PrimalLass · 05/10/2014 09:03

Still 3lbs down. I was a carby lager-ey twat yesterday. And forgot to drink water. Better today - have had 2 pints already.

B: marscapone mixed with a scoop of protein powder and some of that chocolate flax seed. Surprisingly nice. I whipped it up in the food processor. A slosh of cream added in would be good.
L: soup. Broc, cauli and bacon, I think.
D: chicken curry. With cauli rice.

Water, water, water. Coffee, herbal tea.

PrimalLass · 05/10/2014 09:04

I really need to buy some avocados.

BIWI · 05/10/2014 09:33

Thickening gravy - not something I ever do! I never liked thick gravy, even before LC. Take the meat out of the roasting pan, cover it and let it rest. While it's resting, put the roasting pan on the hob and boil the juices until they're more concentrated. (I always add water to the roasting tin while the meat is cooking, so that there's a reasonable amount of juices

If you like a lot of gravy, and you want it thicker without having to use flour, you could try roasting the meat on a bed of veg (onion, celery and small amount of carrot) and then mash these into the gravy.

Morning all!

I'm very proud of myself with my no-alcohol weekend - I've got so much more done and I shall be going back to work tomorrow actually feeling rested.

Off for a walk and a swim today. I think I've got this WOE more or less sorted so am going to try and re-introduce exercise. Am excited for weigh in tomorrow.

Well,today's menu:

B: Greek yoghurt
L: Not sure yet - probably bacon, eggs and mushrooms
T: LC shepherds pie with brocolli.

Going to make a real concentrated effort with the water today too.

BIWI · 05/10/2014 09:40

Dinner went well - although alcohol was involved. Still, because I'm seeing my trainer at 10, that was something that helped me keep it to a minimum. And it's lovely to wake up hangover-free! (These friends of ours, along with us, usually mean large alcohol intake, which I managed to avoid)

So I served:

Sharing platter - French saussicon sec, Italian parma ham, buffalo mozzarella, mushroom pate (home-made - fab - recipe on the recipe thread), celery for the pate, or bread for the others, olives, and then jarred roasted peppers, sundried tomatoes, gherkins, chillies and silverskin onions.

Main: Roast leg of lamb, studded with garlic and rosemary, celeriac boulangere and asparagus with butter

Pudding: almond tart base, with cocoa powder and some chocolate extract (made it look chocolatey but it didn't taste especially chocolatey which was a bit disappointing), filled with whipped double cream, into which I'd stirred a couple of teaspoons of vanilla bean paste, and topped with raspberries which I had macerated in Chambourd liqueur and then blended a little so it was half fruit/half puree. Decorated with a small handful with white chocolate polka dots.

No room for the cheese after that! I was hoping to avoid the pudding and have the cheese, but ended up having the pudding. Blush

However, I'd eaten hardly anything else during the day - bowl of ff yoghurt and a piece of cheese, so hopefully not too much damage.

Today will be a very virtuous day, and hopefully the Scales God will smile on me tomorrow morning!

Morning everyone Smile

Your dinner sounds amazing BIWI!

I'm just back from a Sunday morning spin class so feeling very virtuous (!! even if it was the first time I've exercised in a month, whoops!) I started getting hungry for breakfast about halfway through the class so have some eggs boiling that I will mash with salty butter in a minute.

Out & about today so not quite sure what lunch will be; but I have some chicken thighs to roast for dinner tonight, probably with broccoli.

Looking forward to official weigh in day tomorrow. I'm a daily weigher so I know I lost some weight the first couple of days, but have stayed the same since! Focussing on drinking plenty of water today in the hope of a final "whoosh" Grin

HRH008isback · 05/10/2014 10:25

Impromptu legoland visit yesterday... And I didn't cheat (polishes halo)
Mentally preparing for Oktoberfest... Dindl is v tight so that will be a constant reminder!
I have entered weight early, as i won 't be able to mumsnet again until Wednesday. 5lb down!
Fry up and yoghurt for brunch, roast chicken for dinner, roasted veggies for late night snack! Gallons of water planned today.

Btw, i am hot... Just boiling... Anyone else?

HRH008isback · 05/10/2014 10:27

Sorry, orgot to sa hello to all... And v v impressed with the Sunday morning exercisers!

StuntNun · 05/10/2014 10:30

I reckon grated swede would thicken a gravy. You would have to cook the swede in the gravy for a while then maybe blend it with a stick blender to get a good texture. On Bootcamp Light I would probably just use a teaspoon of cornflour because you'll probably only get one or two grams of carbs in one serving of gravy.

TwoflowersLuggage · 05/10/2014 10:33

Morning all - I've been lurking all week and have enjoyed reading your daily menus.
I've got a Sunday lunch out today and will have to eat what I'm served so I've weighed in this morning instead and put it on the spreadsheet as I'm not sure what effect today will have.
So - after nearly a week of being bootcamp compliant and wine-free I've lost 8 1/4 pounds. Quite pleased with that.
I'm not expecting that much again (ever!) but it's got me off to a good start.
Have a great day all.

Notsoskinnyminny · 05/10/2014 10:52

Morning everyone. I was feeling very virtuous not letting a sip of wine pass my lips, despite DH proffering his glass a couple of times, and then read about all this exercise going on, on a Sunday morning Grin Anyway my forward planning meant the wine fridge was emptied last weekend and I only bought 1 bottle for DH if he wants more he can find his way to the shops I always buy at least 3 bottles a week 6 if I find a 25% off deal so my plan is for every booze free weekend I'm going to put £10 into a treat fund for me. I was down 6.5 yesterday but a pesky lb crept back in the night but still chuffed.

GP night so I usually make myself a flaxseed pizza when I'm lc'ing the others have manfood steak butties in front of the telly-- but I'm thinking its probably a bit carby so might have some belly pork instead and the leftovers will do for lunch tomorrow.

Doggy meet-up later to celebrate the birthday of one of Diva's friend's. Its bad enough when I take her out and people ask if she's a fox so its hilarious when there's 10-20 shibas Grin

RatherBeOnThePiste · 05/10/2014 11:05

Beautiful day here today and we are mostly stuck here on the homework circus. Ah well. I can crack on with some crochet.

Didn't do so well on the water front yesterday, was out from v early and not in a position to go to the loo, so waited until late and home and then attempted the whole thing god I felt ill. Anyway today is a new day.

Have a lovely Sunday all

non126 · 05/10/2014 11:11

Good morning everybody!
Have been lurking and doing my research this week - I don't have much free time so not been posting but trying to keep up with thread.
I have a fear of eating high fat after years of low fat, high carb, so have read Taubes 'why we get fat' to help convince me that lchf is not going to make me get even bigger than I am already! I know BIWI and StuntNun and others who have done very well on previous bootcamps are living proof that it works, but I need to understand the science. It is pretty convincing and makes so much sense - although now I'm thinking I might have insulin resistance.... we do have a family history of diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart problems and both the males and females carry all their fat around the middle, so I must be a prime candidate.

Having said all that, although I'm not weighing til tomorrow I do 'feel' lighter so I hope to have lost some weight when I do get on the scales. I've probably not had enough water over the week and at the beginning I think I was eating too much but my appetite has certainly lessened and I've kept to bootcamp rules. (I have been a daily weigher in the past but find I get disheartened by any increases).

Sorry for the rambling!

Today:

B : 2 egg omelette, bit of grated cheese, leftover buttered cabbage & broc
L : pate & little gem
D : poss crustless smoked salmon quiche, dressed salad with avocado

Good luck to all for tomorrow's weigh in Smile

Tanukisan · 05/10/2014 11:23

Yongnian phew! On the migraines - not yet, sadly. I'm also bf'ing and period free but mine seem to be triggered by anything and everything, sadly.

I'm suffering with headaches and, er, the opposite of constipation Blush. Is that normal or is it a sign something isn't agreeing with me?

BIWI · 05/10/2014 11:26

Some great results here - Twoflowers in particular! Brilliant.

non126 - I'm glad you've been doing the reading. It's so important, and it's what keeps me focused, even during times when I'm finding it hard or have just fallen off the wagon.

I'm also, I have to say Blush living proof that carbs do make you put weight on!

I confessed my starting weight to my trainer, and he's going to monitor it as well, so there's no hiding from it any more. Hopefully that will really keep things on an even track for me. I have to measure today as well, as he's keeping track of those measurements.

Friday and Saturday were higher carb days than I would have wanted, but I'm hoping that two exercise sessions yesterday and this morning, as well as a virtuous day today, will see me down on my original weight.

Ohhh totally unrelated and gratuitous notsoskinny please can we see a picture of your Shiba Inu??? They are gorgeous!!

yongnian · 05/10/2014 11:32

Sorry to hear that tanukisan - hope you can track down a trigger soon. They are horrid. Not sure about your other symptom...hopefully one of the wise ones will know!!

BIWI · 05/10/2014 11:42

Tanukisan - it sounds like carb flu and adjustment to the new diet. Hopefully you should start to be feeling better/back to normal very soon.

Not had a great weekend (LC wise, been great otherwise Grin) so I am expecting a gain or if I am lucky STS on Monday. Luckily there are no more social events where I will feel socially obligated to eat carbs or drink cocktails

Really well done to those of you who are seeing losses already Flowers

Notsoskinnyminny · 05/10/2014 12:19

yongnian introducing divadog Grin the bestest dog in the whole wide world except when she's been rolling in fox shit if you knew me that comment is so out of character. Three years on DH still makes fun of me but she says I love you (ah woo woooo) to me Grin only when there's a possibility of getting some cream and to no-one else.

I didn't want another dog but got drunk and told DD she could have one and the love affair began!
