Week 9 - Low Carb Bootcamp - The End is Nigh!

BIWI · 10/03/2014 07:41

Morning all!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

And don't forget the Weight Tracker

As we get to the end of this Bootcamp, I'd like you all to think about how MNHQ can make our space even better for the next time around.

The original plan was to move to the Weight Tracker and drop the Spreadsheet, which would mean Willie wouldn't have to tend it all the time - but we seem to have kept it going for this Bootcamp. If we were to lose it next time, what do you think you would miss the most?

For me, I think definitely the information in the tabs needs to be transferred over somehow - but is there anything else you'd like to see?

Anyway, a busy week for me as I'm off to Lille Tuesday/Wednesday, up at 5.00 am tomorrow and not getting back home till around 10.00 pm on Wednesday. All I will see will the inside of a taxi, a French supermarket, an office block and another taxi - no time even to go out for dinner on Tuesday night!

And I have no idea what's going to happen on the food front as it's all out of my control But then, that's what this WOE is all about - making the best choices we can at the time.

So - good luck to you all, hope that the fine weather helps you have a great week Flowers

Est-ce que c'est "le" dishwasher, ou "la" dishwasher, BIWI? Wink

CalamityKate · 12/03/2014 16:52

You know I still can't get my head round this being a diet.

I've had salad with chicken breast cut into chunks, then fried in butter. Then I added a teaspoon of WG mustard and a splosh of cream so I ended up with a buttery, creamy mustardy sauce. Poured that all over the salad and added an avocado. Oh and some mayo.

Then had blueberries, ground almonds and cream for dessert.

Mind you I only had one scrambled egg for lunch and no breakfast (wasn't really hungry).

Yum bloody yum. All full now but not a horrible bloated full.

trashcanjunkie · 12/03/2014 17:03

eva Grin Grin Grin

twit big applause for staying strong in the face of extreme tiredness - love that we keep you going!

durham aw shucks thanks! There's absolutely no way I'm shifting from this thread/section post bootcamp - I've mnetted for a good few years, but really feel I've found home in this section with all you peeps, although I will still lurk on AIBU/Style/tack/dogs oh and active convos etc etc Together we are strong like steel! And we are practically neighbours by the look of your user name!

Big schmoofy kisses to mrs grumpykins sayra hope you're feeling better haven't killed anyone

*thumbwitch - bloody hell! I'm glad your dh is taking the strain of dinner tonight.

pleaseand yup definately, although, and this sounds horrid, I really try not to invest emotionally in his life - that way I my happiness is not tied to him. Hope is a dangerous thing in those circumstances, and I try to be just happy that he's here, living, breathing, whole (mostly) and yes small steps are essential although tough to keep to. By the way, are you aware you can sell your old clothes? We take ours to 'cash for clothes' and get £6 per 10 kilos. It's not a huge amount but it does add up if you're having to change whole wardrobes!

crabby! I am so impressed at your home schooling and actual blogging you are a legend Grin The front room extravaganza continues, and I will put some pics up soon. I am so excited I have the best 'new shoe' feeling. I'm waiting for the top cladding and the foam seats now. Just need phone call/delivery - they're ordered and everything. I spent a snatched hour in an industrial estate looking at fabrics for the covers til my eyes bled today. Then I wandered into a cash and carry and spent 50 quid on meat!!! I think I have enough to see us through an apocalypse.

pistey that is a great idea being in health not diet - hmmm I wonder if it's possible. Loving you loving me big loss Grin

Heir I don't know what I'd do without you and the virtual vipers - I feel massive actual real love for you Blush On a side note, wrt your nickname - series 4 is imminently here!!!!!!!!

c'mon monkey you can do this!! Although you sound like you may actually be superwoman any way by the sound of things! Thanks

snowie you say the most lovely things to me! Brilliant continued losses, and you never know, I may allow the whoosh fairy out to visit others Hmm

littlemiss Grin what an excellent paragraph on 'unhitching' really tremendous, struck a huge chord with me.

whooshy that's fucking hilarious! I totally pissed on the back of my flouncy skirt the other day - it was a similar horse piss moment and I had held off too long. As I sat down, I realised I'd pulled the skirt down with my leggings and it was in the toilet! I had to turn it round and wash it in the sink, then try unsuccessfully to dry it on a shit inadequate wank drier. Fgs! Oh and I see I have let you down in my absence Sad although, 'down wiv the yoot' that I am, I have never heard the term pfaff - phatt, yes, but pfaff? Is the p silent? if so that's a word for minge where I come from.... Oh now I'v RTFT I'm pissing meself laughing! You nob! Hahahahhahaha. I'm keeping Pfaff as ours, and the p is not silent Grin

notso what the fuck is that about when they haven't seen their father yet are the walking fucking image of them? Mannerisms included? It's more than spooky, it freaks me out!

Oh piss, man I'm only half way through the thread - times running out and I have to go to bastard yoga. I'll be back to finish sermonising later my pfaffy vipers of excellence xx

EverythingIsAwesome · 12/03/2014 17:50

Long day in Edinburgh today, so glad I made mince yesterday, so that I dont have to cook! I am exhausted.

Keep on keeping on everyone :)

Notsoskinnyminny · 12/03/2014 18:36

Peut etre mais votre anglais spelling has allez to merde du rat Grin

Blummin eck, 35 years post O Level and I can still remember bits, Miss Palmer would be impressed.

Eva fantastic news about the planning application, can you come and SYS here?

SayraT · 12/03/2014 18:41

Hello everyone Grin

Feeling much much better today, back to my normal calm self, everyone at work is very glad.

Welcome to Felix as others have said yes I think there will be another one after this but until then I am sure plenty of us will still be chatting, I will anyway.

LMD well done on the belt etc, its nice when you have non-scale victories isn't it, my watch is much looser than it used to be. I had fennel for the first time a week or two ago and really liked it. I chopped off the root and sliced it in half then I put it in trying pan with butter and then some chicken stock, I covered and left for a while.

Trash thanks for my schmoofy kisses, feeling much better today and that made me laugh Grin Have fun at yoga, I got some of my aggression out at badminton today and someone suggested that yoga might be good for me. Normally they tell me to be more aggressive Grin

Everything do you live in Edinburgh? We must be quite close, I live in Peebles, glad you've got your dinner sorted and don't need to make anything.

Tonight I am going to sit in front of the telly and watch season 8 of Dexter on Netflix...I hope I can watch it all before my free trial runs out Smile

Food Today

B: Coffee with cream
L: Nothing was at badminton
D: Ribs
S: Some nuts and some cucumber

Notsoskinnyminny · 12/03/2014 18:57

DD phoned while I was typing and now there's nearly another page when I click post but good news she's got an interview for a summer job (they usually only take 2nd & 3rd year students but were impressed with her application) so she's ecstatic thinks she's got it she can't book her flights to Japan her reward if she gets it but she's booked her hotel and wants me to go with her need to find a money tree.

trash I was told not to return because I got the giggles when the instructor told us to find our inner chakra and all I could think of was 'chaka kahn, chaka kahn' Grin and the talented woman next to me was snoring and farting which was allowed but swearing wasn't.

Piscivorus · 12/03/2014 19:06

I think if there are any French folks around they will be thinking they've wandered into an old episode of 'Allo 'Allo

No shit to shout today. I've been very good except for a few pieces of butternut squash in my tea (lamb hotpot with squash instead of potato which was lovely)

EverythingIsAwesome · 12/03/2014 19:20

Sayra, not really close, hence why it was a loooong day Grin Im about 2 hours north of Edniburgh.

I didn't eat the mince, Ive been really naughty & had a donner kebab & salad takeaway (obviously without the pitta). How bad is donner meat? :(

EverythingIsAwesome · 12/03/2014 19:21

I love lamb Pisci, ut no-one else here does :( so I really get to have it.

FelixFelix · 12/03/2014 19:26

Wow minny, japan Shock I'd love to go. I watched the hairy bikers Asian thing last night where they were in Japan and it just looked awesome. Well done to your dd.

Well I think I've made it through day 1. Had cauliflower cheese with a pork chop fried in butter then made in to a sauce with mustard and cream (I posted asking how to cook it and this was the suggestion, it was lovely!) Both things I've never ever cooked before.

I'm a bit dubious that I can lose weight this way. Even though you guys have proven it can be done! My tea was so cheesy and creamy, I feel like I've overdone it and I am suspicious Grin

DurhamDurham · 12/03/2014 19:41

Eaten a lot today..it's no wonder I'm not loosing any weight at the minute.

Breakfast was Greek yoghurt with ground almonds.
Lunch was rocker and mozzarella salad.
Dinner was oven baked frittata (the recipe came from a low carb page on FB, very tasty) and steak and mushrooms.
Followed by blueberries and cream.

It was all delicious and tasty but I do think I'm packing in too many calories if I want to loose the last few pounds.

EverythingIsAwesome · 12/03/2014 19:47

Durham, what page on FB, do you mind sharing?

DurhamDurham · 12/03/2014 20:04

It's called Low Carb Eating, there are some delicious recipes and some not so good ones. I've probably made about 5 dishes from recipes on there. It's hard to find a good UK recipe page, they're usually American, which is fine except that they use ingredients I've never heard of or aren't available in UK Smile

EverythingIsAwesome · 12/03/2014 20:05

Thank you :)

StuntNun · 12/03/2014 20:07

Low Carbing Among Friends is another good group on Facebook. But generally the American recipes are pretty useless here as they call for ready made ingredients that we wouldn't tend to use here, like xylitol and liquid smoke.

EverythingIsAwesome · 12/03/2014 20:13

I just bought liquid smoke! No idea what to do with it though Grin

FelixFelix · 12/03/2014 20:17

Everything, DP ordered some liquid smoke a couple of days ago! He's so excited Grin

EverythingIsAwesome · 12/03/2014 20:20

I need some ideas ....only idea Ive had so far is smokey pork burgers!

FelixFelix · 12/03/2014 20:24

We were going to use it in the slow cooker to make pulled pork. I can't think of any other uses except cocktails! Only because I once had a smokey rum cocktail that was amazing!!

Notsoskinnyminny · 12/03/2014 20:26

Felix its an amazing place and quite surreal the first time you go then you come home and you miss the peace, cleanliness and order and DD misses the shops because she's titchy Grin

EvaTheOptimist · 12/03/2014 20:49

Notso what sort of shit would you like me to shout?

Trash I love your mega-post again. I'm enjoying the thought of you attempting to empty your mind and relax at yoga. Can it be done?!

I had one of my favourites today, saag paneer. With some total yogurt to cool it down. Mmmm. Felt like I was still in celebration mode. I've had to stop myself continuing the theme, stop myself reaching for the dark chocolate again. Carbs are very addictive and very sneaky I find, so the cravings linger for quite some days afterwards.

BIWI · 12/03/2014 21:40

Re a UK low carb recipe book - watch this space ...

Eva get them to stop approving plans for more houses this side of the town, I'm not a nimby but the schools were already full to capacity and the country lanes can't cope with the congestion. We live in a town of 2 halves and the other half desperately needs regenerating. You should be do proud of what you've achieved Thanks

BIWI · 12/03/2014 21:42

Oh, and journey back home on Eurostar has just compounded my total carby twatness Blush

Back on the wagon tomorrow, with a vengeance!
