morning!

elasta - sorry i meant the party dress for the party if traveller can't make this weekend after all. and if he does what you do in your own house is up to you girlie

those dresses are gorgeous

elastamum · 08/07/2010 10:52

Hi ASG,

No sign of traveller, will text him later but I guess I am off to the party instead!!

Am actually looking forward to it as it will be less stressful - I am a coward at dating, and it should be a riot. Expect sunday will be a quiet day

aurorastargazer · 08/07/2010 12:30

am sure you would've been fine and found something to do

aurorastargazer · 08/07/2010 12:43

well i've gotta go now, have good afternoon

Remotew · 08/07/2010 15:21

Elasta, you need to text him and find out what is happening. Not right that you are hanging on when he is invited over.

Monty I knew you meant my DD. I think this is just a friendship tbh so don't expect it to get to the staying over stage. I have joked with her that when she starts dating I'm going to make them unwelcome to get my own back as you all know how she has been. Of course I never would. Got a feeling this one might have competition. Good that you let DD have 'friends' over.

aurorastargazer · 08/07/2010 16:11

elasta i have to agree with eve, you do need to know what's happening - you could wait in for him and him not turn up, or you could go out, not expecting him, then he turns up.

aurorastargazer · 08/07/2010 16:18

ladies coudl you please take a look at his campaign please?let girls be girls

elastamum · 08/07/2010 18:40

Ohh, He has just rung me and asked if he can come over on Sunday as he will be back by then.

Which is a result for me as I can go the the party on Saturday and go out on a date on Sunday! Yeh

OMG, will have to tidy the house up?!!

Monty100 · 08/07/2010 19:40

Elasta - Perfect. Now get that pinny on . Oh and don't be too hungover on Sunday, will you?

Eve - but that's what DD had been telling me lol. (The just 'friends' thing). They do it all different these days.

Lou - you've got teen girls, we need your input here.

Aurora - just going to have a look at the link.

How may i help?

Monty100 · 08/07/2010 20:57

Hi Lou - what does one do when one's dd reaches the age when there might be a full on relationship happening???

OP posts:
Remotew · 08/07/2010 21:57

lol Monty/Lou, well DD's 'friend' wants to make it official. Bless she said yes! That might mean linking up on fb. Ha!

Anyway this thread is about our love life not our DD's. Nothing to report. Stallion is still annoying trying with text messages that I'm ignoring.

Monty100 · 08/07/2010 22:01

Eve - good luck to dd .

I do witter on about all sorts on here. Soz

OP posts:
Remotew · 08/07/2010 22:18

Monty, no that's fine. You must remember how I used to fret about DD staying home and not having a bf etc. Well she is fighting them off atm, just thought it was best to draw a line under it. We had a bit of a chat as the other one is a public school boy cock sure nightmare, might be good for her.

elastamum · 08/07/2010 22:27

God, have just spend the last 2 hours tidying up, whilst drinking wine!!

House is looking good, now just need to think about me and what I am going to wear for 3 nights out!

Had a bit of a bust up with ex on the phone as he was trying to drop the kids off early on Sunday. Have told him he has them until monday night as agreed. He was gobsmacked

Remotew · 08/07/2010 22:33

elasta, stick to your guns you need time to yourself too.

Monty100 · 08/07/2010 23:07

Eve - your dd has bowled them over. She looked beautiful on prom night.

Elasta - good for you telling exh where to go . Have you got clean bedding ready?

OP posts:
lou33 · 09/07/2010 10:01

sorry i went to bed lol

it isnt really an issue for us as dd1 has to share a room with dd2, so that kind of puts the brakes on any shenanigans lol

the one time she did have a boy stay here for a weekend he had to sleep on the sofa, which is right next to my bedroom (we live in a bungalow), so there wasnt much chance of anything going on there either

she did go stay with his family for a weekend but afaik they were v much supervised

she is 18 now though and was 16 then

if she had her own room and had a serious bf, i would probably let him stay though, and have great fun making comments about being too noisy

revenge is wonderful

she has told me off in the past, and it isnt like we were swinging from chandeliers, we just have a small house with not enough space between rooms

i may buy her ear plugs

lou33 · 09/07/2010 10:04

oh i also meant to add something that will make you laugh

dp just called me to say he got propositioned in west london this morning, they tapped on his window when he was parked up reading a magazine waiting for his next job

he was told he was tall muscular and a bit rugged and just their type, and would they like to come in their house for a little while

dp made his excuses and left

the 70+ old man was very disappointed

dp is traumatised

Remotew · 09/07/2010 12:09

OMG Lou, old man??? I agree he is rather rugged looking in a good way.

lou33 · 09/07/2010 12:39

yes old man haha

i have been chuckling about it all day

i told my best mate about it and when she had stopped laughing she said "well he is rather manly and rugged looking , and has that nice deep voice too...and he reminds me of nick knowles"

i laughed at that too because dp says he is always getting told that by people

Remotew · 09/07/2010 12:57

Yes Nick Knowles, very similar.

lou33 · 09/07/2010 13:00

but with shorter hair

hatesponge · 09/07/2010 17:39

hello all, still no laptop at home, and madly busy at work...will be here at least another couple of hours tonight so am awarding myself 10 mins off to quickly catch up on the thread!

cant believe all the teens are dating...am hoping I have another few years before I have to go through that with the boys, DS2 I know will be a nightmare of the love em and leave em sort

elasta hope sundays date goes well

who else is dating - eve is anyone else taking your fancy post stallion?

belatedly happy bday to kdk hope you had a lovely day

hello to everyone else (will not do list for fear of offending anyone I forget!) hope we are all enjoying the hot weather...I would be although the daily commute wedged under someone's sweaty armpit takes the edge off it slightly!

news here, well Ex is on the back foot with the house (good news for me) as Ive proved his valuations are 'exaggerated' (to put it politely!) still not sure if anything will happen re the man from wedding, he is currently doing some work for me which will take another few weeks at least. So there is the opportunity of seeing him. However he is significantly better looking than anyone I have ever been out with (I tend to go for the quirky/rough rather than handsome!) and therefore I can't shake the feeling he must be looking for some Wag wannabe rather than me, despite the fact we get on well and can chat for hours. Am trying to be glass is half full about it, but not sure....

Remotew · 09/07/2010 19:47

Hi nice to hear from you, was wondering where you were. Well at least you have something to look forward to at work and if you get on so well he must see that too.

So [jealous] of you southerners atm. We have grey, cool drizzle. Going to a carnival on Sunday, it's usually really good, quite a cool do so hoping the weather is going to get better.
