And Mummy, the only other thing you need to know about internet dating is that its just a numbers game. So write a short witty note in word, cut and paste it to anyone you like the look of and top and tail it with something personal from their profile.

Half of them won't reply, half of those you meet you wont ever want to see again, but every now and again you may meet someone you really like. Good luck Smile

mummyilubyou · 11/08/2010 21:51

to elasta
Well theres a challenge Grin
What does MSF stand for ?
I'd settle for a sailor, or horsey person, just please god know techies with pens in their top pocket...

Funnily enough I could probably describe a 'profile' to you lot with no prob but freeze with embarassment when I think about it for a dating site....so I need to get over that then....

elastamum · 11/08/2010 21:54

My single friend.

Do you like horses too??? I've got a horse Perhaps you should go out with me - shame I'm a girl Grin

mummyilubyou · 11/08/2010 21:56

Monty, been out for dinner with a completely lovely work friend and mentor of many years who is (fingers crossed like mad) in remission from cancer. Blown away by her attitude and determination - mother of 4 and just fab

So am feeling pleasantly blurred with vino and thoroughly determined not to wallow in my situation but recognise my blessings and grab life by the short and curlies

Am going to find a date if it is last thing I do (how inspiring is that Grin?)

elastamum · 11/08/2010 22:01

You go girl!!! Am off for a bath as have already sunk too much wine - will be back later Grin

mummyilubyou · 11/08/2010 22:02

Elasta, love horses
When I have got past divorce and regrouped, a horse is top of the list
Very happy to go out with you , preferably on a hack Grin

Monty100 · 11/08/2010 22:15
Confused

Elasta and Mummy up a tree..... Grin Grin

Mummy - I'm seeing a friend tomorrow night, except she's not in remission, the treatment isn't working. She's just started a new one and is likely to lose her hair again. Everything crossed. Sad

Oh Monty, how awful, it really puts our musings into perspective. I have a friend awaiting her biopsy results atm Sad

aseriouslyblondemoment · 11/08/2010 23:26

oh montySad

Monty100 · 11/08/2010 23:38

Sorry, didn't mean to bring you down, but thank you for your replies I appreciate the care.

She's such a great strong woman emotionally and physically, and her faith is the strongest I have ever known and it always has been. I thought she'd see it off, I really did. It's been about 18 months now, and she cried on the phone tonight for the first time. She has four dc's. The youngest is only about 7.

We take a lot in our lives forgranted don't we. I'm going round to hers and then we're going to take a walk and go for a beer tomorrow night. I need to give her strength...... and pray my ass off.

All quiet here in dc-less world. It's lovely. My dsis, niece and her baby came round tonight and dsis baggsed two of the kittens Grin. Two down two to go.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 11/08/2010 23:43

monty at least you're there for her and will cheer her up over a beerSmile

Monty100 · 11/08/2010 23:51

I'm sure I'll cheer her up, somehow lol. Smile

I don't say much about rl on here apart from wittering about Al and dc's. Every now and again I get provoked by another post ie neighbours, ill friend and maybe some other stuff, then feel really bad for steering the thread so far away from what it's supposed to be about. Soz.

OP posts:
aseriouslyblondemoment · 11/08/2010 23:55

Monty100 · 12/08/2010 10:38

Morning all.

Ninah - I think there's only so much they'll give her, I'll know more tonight.

Mummy - lol at cats more interesting.

Have you not seen anybody at all that floats your boat??

I saw someone on the train this morning that floated my boat. I only noticed him because he was looking iyswim. But lord only knows what he was thinking Grin.

Seriously he was very much my type, really tall, well built, good looking, , carrying a lovely leather laptop bag and some exhibition kit or something, wearing a checked shirt and jeans.... and erring slightly on the side of scruffy Grin.
