sincitylover · 09/08/2010 22:36

ok we're eating it now - not really set

sincitylover · 09/08/2010 22:41

also Monty know the feeling about dcs going on holiday - have now been with my dcs more or less 24/7 for over two weeks and yes they are lovely but starting to hit my limit!!

They will be with exh next week during the day and then going on hols 21st August. I need some breathing space.

Also does your ds stay in alot? Whilst I don't want my ds1 out all the time possibly getting into trouble he seems welded to the sofa atm and is getting very aggressive and also clingy.

I saw another mum today at the supermarket and she said her ds (same age as ds1) is on computer alot.

ds2 is doing a daily tennis course so that gets him out of the house for a while each morning

sincitylover · 09/08/2010 22:44

by the way I meant I regularly drink two thirds of a bottle not two to three bottles!!!

ninah · 09/08/2010 22:53

elasta I was 39 for years and it's only because ds takes such a delight in letting the cat out of the bag I have to be honest
I did tell my evening class I was 35 but as they were mostly 18 it was fine lol
actually I would take a very light hearted approach to online dating let's face it better to fib about dob than gsoh
hi to knickers iyswim
and clara, good to see you!
kdk missed you on thread. Know what you mean about fe, dire atm. Could you set something up yourself locally (dep on subject) or do private tuition?
scl is that 2 or 3 bottles or two thirds of a bottle?
been out with my dc all day by a lake. Which contained real leeches. ds is quite a pain this hols but fresh air and some aggressive stick fighting play with other children seems to help. He insisted bringing a sheep's skull home - country life, eh!

ninah · 09/08/2010 22:53

scl cross posted you lightweight Grin

Monty100 · 09/08/2010 23:00

SCL - I worked out the 2/3 of a bottle lol. Just for a split second I was Shock.

DS is out of the house a lot these days, he has discovered skateboarding in a big way, it keeps him very fit and healthy, except because he's out all day he eats, now let me think, Burger King, McD's, fried chicken, drinks from the pound shop and when I lectured spoke to him the other day he said he was fed up of it 'so today I'm going to have Greggs' Shock. I'm hoping he'll get fed up of it all by himself. He has eaten home made bol tonight, I've had a day off so went food shopping and he asked me to cook it for him as it's his favourite (can't stand the stuff myself) so I did.

Anyhoo, before skateboarding he was constantly on msn, that game errrrr RUNESCAPE!!! OMG I was deemented with him on that every minute of the day. So, yes, he just found an outdoor pursuit that is his niche, at last. Is there a cricket place that ds could join for evening play or something? Is it DS1 that plays cricket?

I'm hoping to be around for 27th Smile. WC2 is great for me as I can go home that way and the Ndubs can get the Northern Line from thereabouts.

elastamum · 09/08/2010 23:44

Right all, Am going to do a little experiment. will set up a new profile on new site aand knock a few years off my age to at least make myself under 45 - or shall we go under 40!! Will be interesting to see if there is a difference in response. Have got some lovely pics taken by a professional on hol recently. Will let you know what happens Grin

knickers0nmyhead · 09/08/2010 23:47

Elasta, Im 23 and still not having any luck!!!

knickers0nmyhead · 10/08/2010 00:10

Great, he wants cyber

Block block block!!!

kdk · 10/08/2010 08:57

oh bollox - I'm away from the 24th til the 30th Angry at ability to book worst time for holiday and Sad at missing your birthday celebrations SCL!

I've knocked ten years off Elasta and then reinstated a few back as felt that would be too much of a lie to start any relationship with eg explaining that I wasn't really 36 .... also expect honesty from others and felt a bit hypocritical. Have to say that while I had my age as 36, didn't get anyone querying it!

elastamum · 10/08/2010 11:01

Thanks KdK. Not sure I could get away with 10 years, although I dont think for a moment that anyone would question me. But might lose a couple just to put me under 45, which does seem a bit of a cut off point for dating

Remotew · 10/08/2010 13:12

Well I'm the grand old age of 49, POF is good at keeping your age up to date. Had messages off a few younger/older ones. It goes from one extreme to another. Don't often get the fit 40's ones sending me messages and I reckon they are looking at younger women.

elastamum · 10/08/2010 13:21

Thereby hangs the problem. I am a fit 40 something. I exercise everyday, I ride and ski. I have young children. I want to go out with someone who is 40 or even 50 something and fit and active not some old bloke looking for a potential carer for his retirement. Perhaps I should just give up dating Envy

hatesponge · 10/08/2010 14:15

sympathies here with the age thing - i have given up on the online stuff for now but when i was doing it, i always put my age as 35 (I'm 38), partly because I dont look my age but also because I didnt want to attract middle aged guys with grown up children who were sliding towards retirement etc!

I think men in their 40s tend to fall mostly into 2 camps, the ones who are as above (and therefore not looking for anyone with younger DC) or else are like the guy one of my RL friends is currently dating, who is mid 40s and never married, but still wants these things so is only dating women mid 30s and less.....

not sure what the answer is tbh. I'm sure there are men who dont fit into either of the above, but there are probably less of them so they are harder to find :(

have a potential RL problem at present, someone I've known for a few years has asked my advice re something legal. can't say too much but it's a bit inappropriate and has made me v uncomfortable esp as he's best mates with the guy I (sort of) left my ex for...am trying to resolve it tactfully. fingers crossed.

hatesponge · 10/08/2010 14:21

SCL - meant to add that I can make drinks on 27th, prob cant get there till about 6pm by the time I travel up from sarf of the river! Can get the train straight home from Charing Cross as well which will be good :)

kdk · 10/08/2010 14:40

agree with you sponge - I tend to get the under 30s who (I presume) assume I'm a desperate single mother who cannot wait to drop my knickers for some young stud (in their dreams ...) or men in their late 50s. The only ones I get in their 40s tend to be, shall we say, odd not to say deeply deeply weird. The types who have never married/don't have kids/spot planes etc.

Oh well, roll on another six years of celibacy!

lou33 · 10/08/2010 14:42

i might be able to pass for younger now i finally dyed my grey roots away, there must have been almost 3 inches Blush

dp will think he has got a new gf!

sincitylover · 10/08/2010 15:52

i always feel ten times better when i ve done my roots.

elastamum · 10/08/2010 17:51

Cant beat a bit of hair colour!! Got mine dyed ridiculously blonde whilst on hol by mad croatian hair dresser. Looted great with my tan but might have to tone it down a bit in winter. All part of the new, younger me Grin

Remotew · 10/08/2010 18:37

Just arranged a date for friday night! Well someone has to. At a lakeside pub, going to drive. What shall I wear? help, just checking and roots will last until the end of the week.
