clarabella23 · 16/06/2010 08:27

Monty-that made me laugh, saying that to ex-h, sounds like something I would do!

Sponge- 6 hrs sleep?!! I fell asleep at 8 last, night, and woke up at 7 this morning! I do normally manage to stay up til 10, but I need a good 8-9 hrs of sleep, more if poss! Obviously, this changes when I have a hangove, when my body decides it's had enough sleep at 6.30 am, EVERY TIME, even though I've only been in for a few hrs. Grr!

Hope everyones OK, looks like it's going to be a lovely day out there!

clarabella23 · 16/06/2010 08:33

Sorry Belle, x-posts there! I've not had the pleasure of introducing DD to any fellas yet, but I would go for the 'less is more' route. I would simply say, this is so-and-so ad leave it at that until they have questions. I don't give her detailed explanations of female friends, so I think it would make her curious if I did it for males. But I do drop them into conversation if I think its getting to a stage where they may meet them. DD always notices if I have had a bottle of beer when shes in bed, or takeaway, and asks why, so I just casually drop "oh, my friend whoever came to see me for half an hour when you was in bed". She doesn't seem to question it.

aurorastargazer · 16/06/2010 10:09

good morning everyone
library guy's in today

Monty100 · 16/06/2010 10:23

Belle - ds is probably old enough for things to be explained. Does he have any friends from single parent families?? Maybe explain it using examples that way.

Clara - well it had to be said . Someone was telling me later on that before I arrived he was telling everyone who would listen (about 10 times each) that we'd had our reception there blah blah..... No wonder his dp didn't look too impressed when I swanned in (wearing aforementioned lush maxi dress etc).

Sponge - I hope you've been putting your womanly wiles to work.

Aurora - you're not sitting in the library perving are you?

Lou - how is your back?

Hi everybody else.

OP posts:

Monty100 · 16/06/2010 10:44

Aurora - are you wearing nice perfume? You could 'waft' passed him.

OP posts:
Monty100 · 16/06/2010 10:44

Oops perhaps not if you're suffering from hayfever.

OP posts:
aurorastargazer · 16/06/2010 10:55

i've run out of my favourite perfume and the avon lady who lives opposite me no longer 'does' the avon bugger. internet visit then by the looks of it

aurorastargazer · 16/06/2010 11:14

what do we think of this one from zoosk? I get enthusiastic about things quickly and like to investigate different opportunities and possibilities to life, I want to make the most of my life, I hate wasting time.

I'm very observant to change if it is visual; I am the first to spot new shoes or a change of hairstyle. I am very creative and enjoy photography but also love a good film or a dinner out somewhere. I am also a self confessed fb addict.

I also go to a street dance class and like a variety of music (always playing at home).

I believe very much in the work to live not live to work philosophy. I'd also rather be poor and happy with time, than rich with no time and unhappy. Of course I am doing my best to have the best of both worlds. It is partly for this reason that I am looking seriously at the idea of living in NZ, want to come?

For work I am both a photographer and a graphic designer. The graphic design bit I do for someone else, but I also have my own photography company called Moment Photography. That is doing really well.
Perfect Match
I am looking for a pretty, intelligent, laid back, down to earth girl who is worth the effort. I am, so I expect you to be too.

Ideal Date
Ideally it would be a walk in the woods or on the hills but I would imagine my date would feel more comfortable in a funky cafe on a first date, which would suit me fine. Somewhere we can have good uninterrupted chat and some laughs.

Music
A bit of everything. Keane, Jamiroquai, Abba, Deacon Blue, Michael Jackson, Cafe Del Mar, Dire Straits, Tiesto, George Michael etc

Movies
Anything with Tom Hanks in it. Funny films, chick flicks, happy films. I don't like horror and although I don't mind action films they are not my preference. Some sci-fi is good.

piratecat · 16/06/2010 12:31

lou, i'd go for the 16th too, as it's the day your ball got rolling iyswim

sorry i can't reply to all the stuff, but i enjoy nipping in and out on here.

unavailable man, who i put a stop to, and endured 3 days of being very down text me yest to check i was ok isaid yes and that i was concentrating on dd.

it's toughie, i know you'd all shout block/delete but he's actually a useful aquiantance too, who i am loathe to lose for hi fixing capabilites!!!. I think we can get over this glich. Can't say more as don't won't to out my sitch!

It's my ex dh's 2nd wedding anniversary this week. Can't believe it's gone so quick. I feel fine about it. Am more about the upcoming annual visit from his parents. They've not actually spent time with dd AND their son since 2007. Very awkward for us all this situation.

Remotew · 16/06/2010 12:31

He is saying a lot about himself isn't he? If you like his photo then reply. He doesn't sound too bad tbh. What did his message say or was that an message and not a profile. I probably wouldn't be too enthusiastic as he says he wants someone pretty and I don't think I am. (Isn't that what they all really want?)

Have you subscribed to Zoosk? I put a profile on but don't want to pay so it's a waste of time. Had a few messages but from no-one I would try and sneak my name to.

thesouthsbelle · 16/06/2010 12:33

aurura - NEXT!! i'm getting pleaser vibes, & also a bit high maintenance. lmao @ library - you know you're there for an ogle - ogling is good!

monty - no we're the only ones here who's in a single family - so far i've only gone so far as to say someitmes daddys and mummys don't live in the same house which he was happy with - he's also happy that daddy's a soldier & lives with his work, and works away a lot. but don't think he gets daddy & mummy don't love each other & don't live together but we do both love him iycwim. oh the joy! at the wedding! 20 years eh! - his DP should get a sense of humour!

clara - i'm usually an 8 hour sort of a girl as well.

ninah - good luck with teh dreaded it's not you it's me talk.

Fairy lights - hi & welcome. sounds like progress on the dominance thing - dominance is good sometimes - but then again it's give & take - to have a strong personality doesn't mean they get to dominate & you be submissive iycwim, it should be about complimenting each other.

lou - agree with monty - go with the 16th! glad DD's exam went well as well.

where's young juicy?!?

ninah · 16/06/2010 12:56

aurora he sounds nice the only slight worry would be the abba
no not had talk yet
got ratty text last night and I said we'd talk 'soon'
I don't think it much matters what I say tbh as he has cast himself as the wronged victim
I feel oK about it actually

Janos · 16/06/2010 13:17

He sounds nice aurora, maybe a little bit trying too hard/self conscious.. but that's not necessarily a bad thing...do you like him?

And who is library man? I have a thing for geeky types..

I had a message froms omeone who sounds quite promising on OKCupid (of all places). Saent a reply and I know he's messaged me back but I can't check til tonight. Fingers crossed.

Belle - only man who got introduced to DS (5) was exbf and he was only ever a friend.I don't honestly think he (DS) was much bothered about it either way!

Janos · 16/06/2010 13:19

Oh, and Construction man has been lurking about..lovely ego boost as he's seriously sexy & does things to my hormones but far too flaky for anything except the occasional bit of fun .

thesouthsbelle · 16/06/2010 13:29

bit of fun is good janos - esp when he's seriously sexy!

ninah - hate blokes who do that - makes you want to say - man up!

hatesponge · 16/06/2010 13:46

aurora - I would immediately dismiss anyone who professes to like Jamiroquai and Tom Hanks as I can't bear either

agree nothing wrong with fun bloke (at the present time I'd be more than happy with that!)

belle- am also with you re whinging/ratty men. Can't abide all the poor me stuff. But I am the least sympathtic person in the world!

hatesponge · 16/06/2010 13:47

forgot to add...there's been some progress on the phone front

just have to try and engineer a date out of this now!

clarabella23 · 16/06/2010 14:35

Sponge- get flirting! What have you got to lose? You could have a dat for the weekend if you get started now!

clarabella23 · 16/06/2010 14:35

*date duh!

aurorastargazer · 16/06/2010 14:52

sponge - get that date!! (hark at me, i'm useless a things like that!)

lou33 · 16/06/2010 15:06
