cor thats took me ages to read.

my date was good. check out the pics on fb.

i stayed over and only left this morning.

i'm doing the panicky thing where you wait to see if they do a bunk after sex... superglued to phonepatiently waiting on text

belle - i dont think its odd he wants to park his car tbh. not really. he's only away for a few weeks. not like he's leaving it there for months?

betty - aww nice pressie

i have a truly hideous hangover. and 1 hr sleep. i'm useless as a chocolate teapot.

Monty100 · 17/05/2010 12:15

Hi everybody

PC - hope dd is ok

MrsM - hope you get your issues sorted too!

Betty - lmao at your silly dance. Thank you very much .

PMG - how did it go??

Juice - how are you now with the news of exh?? Has he spoken to your dc's?

Eve - try and look after yourself, weight loss can lead to feeling crap, I'm the same, can't eat when stressed.

Well, I'm hoping to snap out of my rather gloomy mood. I'm going to be looking at a short break in Devon, if the dc's fancy it, which they might not. Dd is doing AS's and is like a 'bag of cats.' lol. I've said to her I'd have to refer to my parents' manual for those with dc's taking exams. I'm expecting hysteria at the mention of a few days away. You can't really please them at this age. Ho hum and .

passmyglassplease · 17/05/2010 17:57

evening ladies

I am back to give the update on marathon man as promised!

well it was all going horribly wrong.

hadn't heard anything other than the terse message, he was dropping of the bike after doing 121 km cycle ride as the ride was over my way

It would appear that a special trip was not in order he was just fitting it in around his schedule.

anyway he turns up, I offer him a cup of tea as I know he has fixed the bike for me and brought along some bits for another of our bikes, it was the least I could do.

At this stage the dcs are hanging around as normal and I try desperately to encourage them to bugger off to another room so that I can talk, but they weren't having any of it as they were hungry and expecting dinner.

I had no option other than to invite him to stay for bangers and mash which he politely accepted

anyway we get through dinner and finally get the little buggers of to bed. He then suggests that we get the bike out of the van I was very very shocked as I thought that we hadn't even had the opportunity to discuss anything!

so I walks him to the van, I retrieve the bike, kiss him on the cheek and say goodbye.

passmyglassplease · 17/05/2010 18:17

god I was gutted, I really couldn't believe that he could be so uninterested!!!!

on the way to locking up the bike I meet my neighbour and confident, we chat and have a hug and then I head back home, determined that I shall be single for the foreseable future

I get back to the flat and pick up my mobile, there is a message from him saying that he didn't get it, he thought we would be able to talk afters the dcs had gone to bed instead I had escorted him to the van and sent him on his way

It would seem that we both had misunderstood each other and each of us had assumed that they other didn't want to talk!

He was already half way home but I thought I would try it anyway, I suggested that he come back to that we could have the discussion!

There was no hesitation he turned around and came straight back phew what a relief!

We spent the rest of the evening talking, I explained my position and feelings he did the same.

I think we have resolved the outstanding issues between us, he is an old dog and difficult to teach new tricks but we are very very compatible on many levels.

We spent most of the day together as he starts at 6 this evening.

so its official we are back together after a break of one week, we have been seeing each other for 14 months now, so we haven't done to badly to get this far without a major fallout.

now if that was the only problem in my life I would be a very happy girl, but its not, I have to start looking for a new job as my boss is pissing me right off, but thats another story.................

mrsmharket · 17/05/2010 18:51

pmg - oh that's brilliant news, i am glad you managed to have a chat and sort thigns out

lou33 · 17/05/2010 19:15

thats great news pmg

complimentary · 17/05/2010 19:41

Monty27 All the interesting men have gone to the women who seek them! I ran singles parties for years, and I was single. I read two very good books 'How to Marry the Rich, by Gini Sayles and How to Meet Interestintg men' (Can't remember the author) the former was really interesting as I thought it gave women an insight into how men think and act in different circunstances. Anyway I did meet someone lovely, got married and had children.

complimentary · 17/05/2010 19:55

Monty27.In fact Gini Sayles was herself a lone parent, until she met her oil tycoon husband.

SingleMum01 · 17/05/2010 20:05

KDK - sent a message to him for you, he's a bit of alright isn't he!

Betty - at pressie

Juice - did you get your text

pmg - glad you've sorted everything out

Sponge and Betty - happy birthday, wine o'clock?

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 17/05/2010 20:20

"how to marry the rich"... even the title puts me off this book. sounds a hideous basis for searching for a partner.

pmg - wooh oo thats great news.

sm01 - yes . trying to see when we are free this week for date 3. oh... are you going to have that chat with your fella about profile?

Remotew · 17/05/2010 20:32

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that Juice, about the book.

Hope you are OK, just read further down about the ex. How far is he moving and how will it affect the DC's

PMG, very pleased you have sorted this out. Have you really been seeing him that long? Perhaps this might give him a kick up the arse to realise he needs to get over the committment phobia to keep you.

SingleMum01 · 17/05/2010 20:37

That book/post can't be for real surely!!!

Juice - brill! Yeh I want to, but not sure how to put it, any ideas? I mean we've only had 3 dates, the 1st 2 weeks ago, and then 2 this weekend, so don't feel I can really claim exclusivity, but maybe I should? I don't know

KDK - where are you??? I've sent you an exciting email on fb re: glint eastwood, he likes you

lou33 · 17/05/2010 20:46

how to marry the rich?

Monty100 · 17/05/2010 20:48

Complimentary - lmao at oil tycoon - the only oil I've seen lately was on my salad at lunch time and even that was a bit sparse.

PMG - Phew what a relief! Glad for you

Hope the birthday girls are enjoying yourselves. Slainte!

MrsM I'm ok thanks.

Juice - love the photos.
