its just a thought which has been pondered upon by a few of us on here
as Lou 33 said if she knew the answer then she wouldn't be on MN

am i odd in as much as i dont get nervous?

elmoandella · 28/01/2009 15:16

i am newly single too. tried these dating sites this wkd and they were some weirdo's on there. and i seem to attract the grandads. never mind the oldies!! wtf!! and then there was the one who outright mailed "are you good in bed"" to which i replied "fuck off"

i would like to find someone just to perhap go on a date with. i'm not even greatly interested in actually having sex. just dipping my toe in the fishy pond and hope to remember how to flirt and actual act on a date. but it seems to go on a date your expected to "put out" at the end of it. not even interesting in a relationship yet. just enjoy some male company. i too am th only single one of my friends nearby. however i'm off to an old time friends housewarming next wkd which will be guaranteed to be full of young , hot avaiable men.

sincitylover · 28/01/2009 15:22

now my friend is worried about me and has made me give her all his details. I know she is only concerned about me but think that might be OTT.

We are meeting in public place, not drinking and driving separate cars.

sincitylover · 28/01/2009 15:24

to reply to elmo and ella - many of the people who contact me on the site I don't even bother replying to.

I had email from one who said my profile 'made him hard'!!!!!!

Think it pays to be quite selective and picky really.

elmoandella · 28/01/2009 15:25

i dont reply to quite a few either. but that one was so unbelievable it doeserved the f word

lou33 · 28/01/2009 15:36

elmo, i had something similar once, and i replied saying "no but i hear your mum is"

VodkaGirl77 · 28/01/2009 16:22

Hi

I'm on POF man number 4 after joining in mid-December. First three, although not disasterous were not exactly as advertised lol!

Had second date with this man last night... and he:

1 is as tall as he said on his profile (unlike number 1 at 5'6" who said he was 5'9")

2 looks like his profile picture (unlike number 3, whose picture was at least 5 years and 3 stone out of date)

3 isn't an alcoholic (well as yet unproven, but the signs aren't there like with number 2).

He is also reasonably intelligent, can hold a conversation and is a driving instructor, which is good for a non-driver like me

Hoping this might last for a little while anyway.

elmoandella · 28/01/2009 16:55

its having the courage to actually meet some random stanger that i need

mankymummy · 28/01/2009 16:57

fit + interesting + available...?

just not possible im afraid.

t'would be like asking for a 6ft dwarf !

lou33 · 28/01/2009 17:05

you dont meet them til you feel comfortable

and if you think about it, chatting to someone in a bar is a random stranger too

aseriouslyblondemoment · 28/01/2009 17:10

SCL it might be an idea if she does have details and you have some kind of coded text/call thing just in case you need to make a run for it!
did this once with my friend sadly i didnt put it into practice and agreed to meet him again
and pics again
i mean why put something misleading on FFS
don't they realise that they will be found out?
or do we have to take one of Lou's paper bags along just in case?

OP posts:
aseriouslyblondemoment · 28/01/2009 17:13

yes the bit about chatting to someone in a bar being a random stranger is true
thou you do get a feel for them with facial expressions/body language etc
or theres the option of the old webcam as long as you dont have WCL's man at the other end of it{shudder emoticon}

OP posts:
lou33 · 28/01/2009 17:20

i never understand the whole out of date photo thing either

paper bags, 10 for a pound, roll up roll up

aseriouslyblondemoment · 28/01/2009 17:22

OP posts:
lou33 · 28/01/2009 17:25

aseriouslyblondemoment · 28/01/2009 17:27

OP posts:
lou33 · 28/01/2009 17:28

aseriouslyblondemoment · 28/01/2009 17:31

OP posts:
lou33 · 28/01/2009 18:19

aseriouslyblondemoment · 28/01/2009 18:31

OP posts:
lou33 · 28/01/2009 18:32

aseriouslyblondemoment · 28/01/2009 18:41
