its just a thought which has been pondered upon by a few of us on here
as Lou 33 said if she knew the answer then she wouldn't be on MN

I've just logged onto POF and been
proposiotioned twice!!!!

N1 · 01/02/2009 12:06

POF is a bust website. I think I only met one person from there and that went nowhere.

I leave photo's off because my photo and me don't look the same. I find that people's who don't look like their photo start off on a "wrong foot". By me not having a photo, I can't get accused of not looking like my photo without explanation.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 01/02/2009 12:16

morning!
inthemist how did it go?
was expecting a progress report from you last nite
so come on spill!
had a sneak peek at POF will stick to FRD i think!
anyway i'm wondering now whether i need either of them as i seem to be having quite a bit of success on MN!!

OP posts:
N1 · 01/02/2009 12:22

I meant to say that POF is busy.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 01/02/2009 12:24

am glad that you clarified that for me
am not used to these w.country words!!

OP posts:
N1 · 01/02/2009 12:28

lol, cheeky!

My keyboard has no letters on it and if I type sitting slightly wrong, I type a T instead of a Y - often.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 01/02/2009 12:33

i suppose that's the excuse that all those men who have profiles littered with spelling mistakes would give too!

OP posts:
N1 · 01/02/2009 12:42

as I said....cheeky.

Would a spelling mistake still matter as much if your on a date and enjoying it?

aseriouslyblondemoment · 01/02/2009 12:48

of course not!
but as i said if i look at a profile and its badly written then i just wouldn't even look twice!
but there again those profiles are usually written by those chavvy no marks that i wouldn't waste my time on anyway!
AIBU?!

OP posts:
N1 · 01/02/2009 13:28

First impressions do count.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 01/02/2009 13:56

precisely!

sincitylover · 01/02/2009 16:12

quick update - heard late last night and early this morning from the samenames - yes both 1 & 2.

What's that about buses, eh?

I have decided to let the exbf situation roll on for a bit longer. Cos if not I am becoming like the boy that cried wolf. I am not prepared at this moment in time to cut him out completely and he also does not want to stop.

Agree could be a minor thing in a profile which can put me off - some spellings I will allow but not ridiculous ones.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 01/02/2009 16:13

well looks like i have got SCL's two of the same name problem
will have to be careful not to slip up here!

OP posts:
inthemistsoftime · 01/02/2009 16:17

the lunch time date didn't turn up in the end, wasn't that bothered about it.

Went out to a leaving party last night and met someone who knows my ex and she was able to fill me in on a few more details.

I ended up leaving the party and going to cry on my sister in laws shoulder.

Right now I feel that life is a bit shitty for me and I should just forget about trying to have a normal life because it still hurts too much.

But I just want to be happy and never see him (the ex) again but he has my children this weekend and I've got to smile in front of them as they are such innocents in this mess.

Sorry I need a rant; I have been trying to let it out all day but this time I am finding it a little hard.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 01/02/2009 16:31

oh no!
did he let you know
please dont tell me that he stood you up?
your ex sounds horrible
the best thing you can do is to get on with life and enjoy again
dont let what he did/does prevent that happening

OP posts:
N1 · 01/02/2009 16:34

What did the ex do which made you cry?

elmoandella · 01/02/2009 16:39

inthe mist - poor you

n1 - nice profile. mines is vonthegiraffe. i dont like photo's either for same reason.

asbm - how you finding POF??have you registered?

off to do dinner bath and bed will catch up later

aseriouslyblondemoment · 01/02/2009 16:44

yes SCL
buses!
but more often than not they're not going to the right destination so to speak!
and the samenames?
what's happenening there then?
have just been chatting to one of my own samenames
he has also been for a horror date with one of those misleading photo types!!
looks like quite a few ladies are it too!

OP posts:
aseriouslyblondemoment · 01/02/2009 16:46

hows your head elmo?
i didnt need to do the POF thing after all my curiosity was satisfied!

OP posts:
inthemistsoftime · 01/02/2009 16:53

yeah he did stand me up, what a d**k

I am of the opinion that the best form of revenge is for me to be happy, but right now sticking to that line is getting harder.

Yes I think I have now lost any respect I had for him because of his actions. The hard thing is that the kids think the sun shines out of his ar** and I have to keep smiling because I will not let our shit relationship upset them

elmoandella · 01/02/2009 16:53

head is fine. cranberry juice staves off the hangover. lol . banker has just come on msn. told him i was busy with dinner bath and bed routine. which i am. but i would rather sit down and chat to arrange our meeting for tomorrow once kids are in bed. i get annoyed msn-ing while doing something else.so he says he'll leave his computer on till i get back and wait for the ping. lol.

i'm getting a case of nerves though. thinking about bottling it. lol

most of the misleading photo's are ones that are a few yr out of date . all my phot's make me look horrendous. and people always comment on how bad a photo i take. lol.

it's a family joke if there's a camera around i will be caught with a look on my face of a derangled/pissed woman

ok ok most of the photo's i was pissed

aseriouslyblondemoment · 01/02/2009 17:03

inthemist this man sounds like a complete dick and not worthy of your time
dont let hin put you off FRD
there are some decent men on there trust me
your children will think hes wonderful he's their father after all
i don't like my exh hes a horrible man but i have to put my feelings to one side for the sake of my dcs
they will make their own minds up once they're old enough and will respect you for your selfless actions
i just get on now with my own thing and that involves my happiness which he was never a part of anyway
elmo LMAO
you cant bottle it girl not now!
are you having those knots in the old tum?

OP posts:
N1 · 01/02/2009 17:25

I am getting people mixed up now. lol. I can't remember who did what. This combined with the same person having a real name, a POF name and a MN name.

Someone emailed me Call her "x" - she will know what it means) - I emailed back with a reply. (the "x" isn't a kiss in this sense).

My profile is a bit out dated, and I haven't looked at it for a fair while. If it still looks good, that's a good thing. lol.

I find that the annoying thing about being happy by yourself is that you have no one to share the happiness with. Then at a later stage (in life) when you tell a new friend about the happy times, it doesn't have the same impact and meaning as it would have if you and the fiend shared the same happy moment.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 01/02/2009 17:34

but you know who i am now!
and as i said i am happy
i don't need any man to make me happy either just the right one!would share my happiness with him too!
but pleased to hear that you are receiving renewed interest thru POF

OP posts:
N1 · 01/02/2009 17:38

I have figured out the "mystery" person who emailed me - it's abouteve. I did email a reply to her. To answer. No I can's see that you viewed me.
