Too good an opportunity to miss!

tookool, he works for Mace, who are project managing the construction. If Mr Big knows any crane experts, then he probably knows TLOML.

ha. i expect they know each other then.
Mr big, as well as owning lots of skyscraper websites, writes for papers, magazines and is a photographer, again of skyscrapers. He is frequently to be found hanging off cranes with a camera.

tookool - i'm so sorry! i wrote all that crap about going to date bla bla bla and feel really guilty that it turned out to be so damn awful. possible one of those to laugh about...in 20 years' time?!?! Hmm
NEXT! :)

elasta - i hear you... and i haven't got the guts to make a move, self-preservation comes first! btw - prof sounds VERY promising!!!

lilac - absolutely terrifying the thought of having to go that high up for a fox but what a seriously cool weekend you've had, huh?!? :)

feeling rather smug about this Valentine's - nice change from years of misery and fuckwit exh, followed by exp of 4 years. yuk! had lovely text from 'vng' saying how he wish he had spent more time with me and how he can't wait to see me on tuesday...aaahhh...! slightly worried about the 'thinking about you all afternoon' though. sweet but we've only had two dates...maybe because we've known each other for a good couple of years and perhaps he's liked me for a while hence the enthusiasm... still think that it'll take somebody seriously motivated and driven to make me fall in love - it's only ever happened once and it wasn't exh!

another mad week begins tomorrow. have a good one everybody x :) :) :)

NowhereToHideInTheDark · 13/02/2011 22:02

Lol @ the toenails - he would get on well with the Desperately Dull Physicist.

Am talking to Smurf a lot on POF, seems nice.

No reply from Mattarse today, think I pissed him off by being honest. Meh. If he gets back in contact then fine, if not it doesn't really matter. Especially as once again it is the end of a Sunday evening so I am back to being hopelessly in love with Carrot.

elastamum · 13/02/2011 22:45

Perhaps we should invite all the desperately dull men to the same pub annd leave them all to get on with it together??!! Shock

adamschic · 13/02/2011 23:48

Stella, all you can do with teacher is just smile and wave! Then wait for him to make a move, might be difficult with the parent/teacher thing but think it's up to him. Hope he asks you out.

Lilac, sounding good.

Flame, it's quality not quantity which is how others always pointed out to me, I'm not looking for anything serious so tend to have a few 'friends' platonic or otherwise and sometimes feel overloaded.

Got a date on Wednesday. Someone who got in there before I deleted my profile on Plenty of Shit. Not enthusiatic.

Happy Valentines tomorrow. I've got the dentist then lunch out with Dsis as I don't work most Mondays.

tookoolforskool · 14/02/2011 07:39

happy valentines day to all of us.
:)

Ive got a childfree weekend this weekend coming up, first one for 3 weeks. I am not spening it with any man at all. Ive decided to spend one day on the sofa watching films and the other cleaning the kitchen. Sounds sad but am looking forward to a bit of peace.
But, i got asked out by Drummer on pof last night, he wanted to do something next weekend, but ive said im busy and can we do something in the week. And then big ralph has also asked me out, but has as yet come up with any times. so..?? maybe next week.

elastamum - that sounds like a plan. Quazimodo from yesterday would win though. He was complaining about the men at his work, the ones that work in the factory, apparently when it was snowing they went out and played snowball fights and it was awful as they should have been working and he had to tell them off. fgs.

and mr big is still ignoring me. I called him a cock on msn last night. which he also didnt respond to. So there is no way i shall be going to see him in a few weeks time, like he asked the last time i spoke to him.

NowhereToHideInTheDark · 14/02/2011 09:09

Lol @ calling him a cock.

Had a valentines text from Brackets. God I am a bitch. I really wish I could feel it but its just not happening. Carrot tried to say that I said the same about him too but that was different - there was never that mad fireworks rush with him but there was always "something".

tookoolforskool · 14/02/2011 09:19

well. he is behaving like a cock. when did i speak to him last, tuesday, wednesday last week? and he was all like, lets meet up and sort this out etc... etc... and then hes just ignored me since. i dont get it. He is being a cock.

I told him if he wants to be a cock, then its up to him.
I shall not contact him again. Yet again further proof that ive made ( if sometimes wavier) the right decision.

You just need to tell brackets.I think the thing with the mad fireworks, is that once you have had it, you kind of dont want to settle for anything less. But i agree there needs to be 'something'. dogman and stardust had 'something' the one earlier in the year, and then yesterdays had less than nothing. And if there is nothing, then i think its quite unlikely to ever turn into something.

tookoolforskool · 14/02/2011 10:00

you have to tell me all the details.

how amazing is that??!?!? congratulations.

adamschic · 14/02/2011 10:22

Congratulations, Mily. I think this could be a first on this thread, I might be wrong. I know there is a baby on the way for an ex poster.

SmileyMily · 14/02/2011 10:40

thanks lovely people, am sitting here Grining from ear to ear

TK, synopsis:
we met last autumn on GSM

1st date he brought beautiful flowers (i.e. not cheesy/ott, nor filling station forecourt horrid..) and we had lovely dinner at my local and I seem to recall I liked him but wasn't sure there was a spark

then we went to a concert 2 days later that i happened to have a spare ticket for - and fireworks ensued from a snog mid-concert....led to snogging all the way home on the tube and train and that was kinda that Grin

I think if you can ever be bothered to look back at thread 23 or 24 you might get more details but that is pretty much it, we have been joiined at the hip ever since

can't believe how quickly it all fell into place and I do worry sometimes that I am being 'judged' as divorce has only just happened. BUT, XP left nearly 18 months ago and in retrospect alot wrong for a good couple of years prior to that, in fact since well before DD2 born so , y'know, figure it is time enough to move on, no?

And i can honestly say if it hadn't been for the likes of Lou, Monty, Elasta, Eve, MZ et al I would never have even met him Grin

SparklyMily · 14/02/2011 10:43

new name

SparklyMily · 14/02/2011 10:44

SparklyMily · 14/02/2011 10:48

Flame, shame about brackets

TK, Shock at QM and Angry at Mr Big

Lilac, sounds like you had a lovely weekend with TLOML Smile

Lou, hope you made it through the washing pile

Monty can't wait to hear about tonight's date

lilacisinlove · 14/02/2011 10:48

Wow, mily, delighted for you both Grin. Congratulations!

OP posts:
tookoolforskool · 14/02/2011 10:55

ah. thats lovely. And how many dates with other people had you been on before him??
Just wondering?
lol

I had a thread in chat about giving me a kick up the arse to go on the date when i didnt really want to go.

Then i updated with the full horror of what happened.

One poster said it was what i deserved for being shallow and lazy!

then there were the usual - talk for longer before meeting, thats how i met my bf.
and then there were the - meet quicker next time so you know sooner, thats how i met mine

i just kind of think its down to luck pretty much. Not what you do at all. Luck in meeting the right person at the right time.

what do you lot think?

SparklyMily · 14/02/2011 11:16

had been on 2 or 3 dates with 1 other bloke before meeting TLM. previous guy was good practice in the sense that I realised if I was going to make the effort to get out on dates and pay babysitters, it needed to be for someone worth it . This was before dds started going to XH's overnights fortnightly and I was forking out loads in extra nanny hours

TBH, I didn't talk to TLM long - I am one of those who would rather meet up soon rather than chat on email for long as I prefer to see and hear the person in RL iyswim. But I would definitely say is down to luck, pure and simple - nothing that I did made it more likely I would meet the right person, i don't think
