Oh dear Foxie, doesn't sounds good at all, keep an eye on him.

at Kew - hope you behaved yourself last night!

Glad mini-SFX liked letter

I've had a pretty disastrous weekend really. Ds up several times Fri evening, nothing serious just couldn't settle. Then I went to Tesco yesterday, fought through rugby crowds (didn't know match was on), got to Tesco, parked up, then realised I left my purse at home so had to go all way back to get it with myself

My friend got lost and turned up 2hrs late, after 30mins threw up and was really ill, she must've got a bug so her bloke had to them drive all the way back to Leeds Didn't get chance to chat at all

DH has found out he may have to work in Bristol for the next 3mths

DS v. grumpy and got hideous cough and was coughing all night. He's not really eaten anything much since Weds, his weight is falling off

Sorry to be doom and gloom, hope evryone else had a good wkend

stepfordwife · 02/12/2007 15:44

hi everyone
how you all diddling?
kew, thanks for a` lovely time yesterday.
yeah, what's the goss on the party?

foxie, just sounds like maybe he's not the right lodger for a household of young children. he should be in a lairy shared house having lost of parties and squabbling over food in the fridge.. (ooohhh, feel a bit nostalgic...)

paddle - how's the packing going?

sj, sorry you've had a crap weekend. hope things - and ds' cough - improve.
toodlepip

stepfordwife · 02/12/2007 15:47

foxie - do you reckon getting him to sign a stricter agreement will help?
tbh, just sounds like he's not family-friendly. you don't "get" having childen until you've got them yourself, do you?
and it must be really hard feeling pissed off with someone living in your house..that's what dhs are for..

fitfox · 02/12/2007 17:31

SJ sorry to hear you have had a mucho crappo weekend and about our DH working away - if you get lonely come over for a cuppa

sfx - I just did a big walk to Shene - tres windy out there - a bit like the seaside !!!

Steppy - LOL!! I have been very cross all day but am quite good at channelling anger so have managed to get loads done - I even gave the car its annual hoover LOL!! With my new Henry

sfxmum · 02/12/2007 18:05

SJ hope it gets better sounds terrible.

foxie was it spray from the river?

dd continued her food strike yesterday(minus chocolate of course)pretty much drove dh bonkers.

today she has been chilled.
blessed dh got home with dinner wine, and ingredients for rubarb crumble, which he then prepared aided by dd. I was busy reading the paper.
can feel waist expanding and arteries hardening

fitfox · 02/12/2007 18:30

sfx at your DH

Do you fancy coming swimming with me one day - once I hae the confidence to go on my own (ie. without my instructor and aged 35-45 armbands)!!

SJ99 · 02/12/2007 18:56

Foxie - imagining you hoovering up your lodger. Hope he sobers up enough for you to feel relaxed in your OWN home.

Thanks for offer of a cuppa, v. kind of you. I'm used to being on my own during the week, DH usually only sees DS at the wkends as he works longs hrs (he came back esp for DS party last wk though!) but he's never worked away for such a long period, anyway we'll see how it goes.

Yes, at SFX DH, enjoy your meal

SJ99 · 02/12/2007 18:58

BTW is Dec Xmas meet up still on? Happy to meet up or can wait til Jan, just wondered in case I need to arrange babysitter...?

sfxmum · 02/12/2007 19:04

foxie yes to swimming love swimming

SJ I guess that shrinks the chances of you going back to work, hope it works out 3 months goes fast

and yes to some meet up though we were doing Kew in the evening on friday?
is bookswap club still on for next Sunday, all other weekends are now busy.

might lend dh out for a fee is that pimping

SJ99 · 02/12/2007 19:24

LOL SFX

Oh yes, thanks for reminding me about Fri night, I sincerely hope DS is better by then...

Yes that thought had crossed my mind re: job. TBH haven't been pursuing so actively recently, nothing has really jumped out at me from the vacancies I've seen. Wanted to have a fresh look in New Yr as more vacancies likely to be posted. If I can get something I can do from home or genuinely PT then it might be more viable

Can't make book club meet on Sun as I'm going to Gay Paris for the wkend

bunyanvillas · 02/12/2007 19:56

What time are you doing Kew at on Friday?

Paddlechick666 · 02/12/2007 20:01

evening all.

packing has gone pretty well. the flat clearing went very well with lots of help from burly men. it was a bit strained seeing H when he came to get the bed. couldn't resist the odd dig altho he only managed the same old tired words that i've heard a hundred times.

another friend came over today and we pretty much blitzed the house so am feeling a bit less stressed about getting so much done.

dd hasn't been well at the GPs and saw the emergency dr yesterday. sounds same sort of thing that mini-SJ has had.

we went out for dinner tonight which was great and dd has gone out like a light with no bath. just hope she goes thru okay.

sorry to hear your weekend didn't go too well sj. shame about your friend, poor thing.

i forgot it was the party last night! i had some wine and a chinese takeaway and was asleep by 10:30pm! awake at 2am tho

i am surrounded by boxes! worried dd might freak when she saw them all and that all her toys are pretty much packed. she handled it well tho - was amazed by all the boxes in my room and announced "look at all that stuff!!!"

reckon i'll be in bed shortly myself....

Kewcumber · 02/12/2007 20:51

are you physiaclly moving on Monday Paddle - need to know where/when to come and visit and admire new floors.

Paddlechick666 · 02/12/2007 20:55

i'm moving over the course of the week. new floors won't be down till end of the week.

we're at home unpacking friday arvo waiting for the broadband guy so if you're about then why not pop in and help unpack for a cuppa?

sj, thanks for the letter. very cute!

poor dd is so stuffed up, she's already been awake once this evening. long night ahead i think...

OP posts:
sfxmum · 02/12/2007 21:02

hi paddle glad packing nearly done, hope dd gets some rest.

bunyan I think it is from 5pm , KC was talking about it last week, must check

off to put feet up again

fitfox · 02/12/2007 22:14

Hi

SJ have you go my mobile number? text me if you fancy a cuppa - around Mondy/Weds morings and Sa pm generally.

Can't do Kew Sparkle as chauffeurring DS1 to party Friday evening

QC is book swap still on for next Sunday? I think 4 of us could make it

Paddle well done on doing so much packing - just think this time next week, you will be in your new home and online again

Kewcumber · 02/12/2007 23:12

actually had completely forgotten about the book swap. But think I'm free - what time?

Kewcumber · 02/12/2007 23:13

Paddle - I'm sure DS will be a great hit at unpacking! He had lots of practise over the weekend.

Paddlechick666 · 03/12/2007 07:10

well, that was a terrible night. poor dd is absolutely stuffed up and has been awake crying at least 4 times. finally went off about 1:30ish and awake again at 6am.

i don't think i can take her to the CM today. she's streaming snot, eyes are watery and exhausted. will just have to juggle unloading the van when i get the keys sometime later today.

i'm knackered too......

altho, she's perked up a bit now after a little bit of breakfast and some nurofen. my conscience tells me she needs a quiet day at home to help her recover. my schedule tells me she needs to be elsewhere today!

OP posts:
sfxmum · 03/12/2007 08:57

good morning all

paddle sorry the night was difficult poor dd, not the best time to be poorly

my challenge for today leave the house

SJ99 · 03/12/2007 09:55

Morning all

Sorry minipads is ill again, hope she feels better soon. Good luck with move & unpacking, must be very exciting to be moving to your new place!

Ta Foxie - will look up your no. on the list. When DS better will take you up on your offer

DS still coughing his guts up but at least he ate breakfast today that has to be a good sign. Another quiet day at home for us, think I will go for a walk though as the weather is lovely.

Will call my friend from Leeds tonight, hope she is feeling better

Good news - my 42yr old friend with 1st time pregnancy gave birth to twin girls! She went til 38wks which I think is pretty good for twins, will call in a few weeks to see how she's adjusting to motherhood

SushiMummy · 03/12/2007 10:13

Morning all! Lovely sunny day for a change!

Hope your LOs feeling better, paddle and SJ. Good luck with the move and unpacking, too, paddle.

We didn't get to view the house after all. The vendor (old lady) had cold feet and decided not to have any viewings till next year.

QC - sounds like you all had a fab time at MN Xmas do on Sat. Any gossip to share?

SJ99 · 03/12/2007 12:33

Weather is lovely, DS seemed to enjoy car/train/plane spotting when we went out earlier. He is marginally brighter today but still clingy and keeps asking kiss/hug, aww.

He is driving me insane as he doesn't want his medicine. I have spoon in 1 hand and am trying to pin him down with other hand which results in both of us getting covered in sticky stuff

Pity you didn't see house Sushi, will you wait til next year or are you in a hurry to move?

hope you have good day out SFX

Paddlechick666 · 03/12/2007 12:39

well dd has gone to CM as she perked up.

parents here and driving me somewhat nuts!

twiddling thumbs now waiting for the call to say we've completed. nervous, nervous, nervous!

sj, have you tried a syringe? dd, being a little druggie, takes medicine anyway i give it to her but when she was smaller the syringe worked great. it still use it at night when it's too dark to see what you're doing.

i am soooo tired it's not funny! expecting dd not to sleep much again tonight

OP posts:
SJ99 · 03/12/2007 12:46

Why do parents have a habit of doing that? LOL
Hope all goes well with completion!

Syringe, what a fab idea, will try that. I think we have one somewhere in the house. Will still need to pin DS down to take it but hopefully less spillage this way
