unfortunately i was way too whale like to get anywhere near dh when i was pg so can;t vouch for its effectiveness iykwim!

I had an interesting day.... had to go into Leicester Square for lunch with my boss to talk about my job etc.
It was all fine, not as bad as i thought it was going to be.
Am shattered now though

Went out for all you can eat Chinese buffet today with a friend. Boy could we eat alot )

Jello raspberry leaf tea is supposed to help, tastes vile but anything that will help. And someone told me that oil of evening primrose might help too!

DD is going through a growth spurt again at mo so shes a bit more whingy than usual so apologies in advance for the crying thats surely going to happen tomorrow, looking forward to it though

Sorry I didn't make it I'm feeling much better now but was still a bit dodgy at lunchtime. In my pre-baby days I'd never let a bit of illness get in the way of my social life, but going places is so much more effort with a baby in tow.

Did you have a good time? Were your lo's suitably entertained? I don't think I have any plans at all for next week so am up for anything

My brother had a day off work today and came round to entertain Luc for a few hours which was really nice. He went home exhausted but fortunately Luc is pooped too.

A friend has invited himself round for dinner tonight and I have absolutely nothing in the house to make a decent meal with. Tomorrow night we're round at a friends for dinner which will be nice, and then on Sunday we're visiting friends and their baby for lunch so at least no cooking at the weekend. I must go and make myself look a bit presentable now, though heavens knows that's gonna take a bit of effort.

Jello - push that baby out woman for goodness sake!!! I don't mean it maybe he is holding out for April.

know what you mean Vicky... everything is an effort when you have a baby. At least you can put your pinny to one side this weekend and get others to cook for you!

Good to hear you're feeling better too.

It was great to see Harri and Jello too. Shame soft play when a bit pear shaped. Maybe next time there will be better facilities!!

Anybody out there today...........???????!!!!!!!

We had a pretty laid back weekend, relly didn;t do much as dh was working. Had loads of people round for company though.

I went to get Eren weighed today at the clinic.. the little heffer is 19lb 7oz at 23 weeks.

I asked the hv today about giving him breakfast cereal and she suggested weetabix and ready brek even though it has a teeny weenie bit of salt and sugar in it.

She also said it was ok to move him to the next stage in food and get him to eat more 'family' meals, just without the salt and spice..... even garlic is ok which i thought would be off limits!!!
I'm very pleased with his weight but am sad he's no longer a baby, baby IYKWIM...... i almost miss those days.......

How is everyone else??

Hi Girls
Hope you are all well.

We are having and extension built and today was the day that the builders knocked through into the house. They gave me no notice so this morning I was rushing around like a mad thing covering stuff up and moving all of Luc's things upstairs. We went and spent the day at my mums. I now have to go dust with a vengence.

The blackout linings on Luc's curtains are a bit useless now the lighter evenings are here as all the light comes in at the top and bottom. I think I'll look into getting a blackout blind as well.

Right, I'm off to get my duster like a good 1950's housewife

Mine - last night I spent ages pureeing carrot, sweet potato and pear. Luc was liking the baby rice and seems a bit constipated so I thought I'd get a bit of fruit and veg down him. The carrot went well today. I'm getting him weighed on Wednesday.

Still not popped,fed of raspberry leaf tea already and all curry has done has given me lots of wind!.

Went for a long walk on Sunday and did Aqua natal this afternoon but nothing is moving him.

all babies seem to be thriving very well.

Luc keeps waking and really crying with teething pain. I want to take him out of his cot and cuddle him back to sleep but dh disagrees. I think it doesn't tug at their heartstrings like it does with us

blimey, you're a stronger woman than me!
I couldn;t help but give Eren a big long cuddle when he's like that. Its heartbreaking to watch them just scream and cry in pain.
Doesn;t last more than 2 days with us though...... so far .

He's much happier today thanks - very smiley and amused by everything I do and he loved his carrot. I can't believe that Eren is onto the next stage of weaning already. I'm not sure whether to tell the health visitor that I've started weaning Luc as they seem very disapproving of anything not done by the book.

How's you and Eren?

I'm going to cook a nice Thai green curry tonight... in fact I'd better get on with it.

Have a good evening everyone. Are we all up for meeting up again soon?

to be honest, Eren was/is a very greedy baby so i started him on purees ages ago. I mentioned it to the hv at the time ina 'what if i were to give him pureed carrot, even though he's only 4 months old....' she was quite disapproving saying that the gov guidelines says 6 months then you start with baby rice blah blah blah....

In my opinion it really is down to the individual baby. Eren would not have waited until 6 months. I started him on flavoured b`by rice and went on the veg puree. He;ll be 6 months next week and yesterday i started him we on 2 meals a day and roughly 30oz of milk. He'sloving it so far.

Not every baby will eat as much. Don;t rush anything.

Jello's gone quiet wonder if there's a jello bubba out there now!!!!!

Mine i took y dd to clinic on monday and she's 16lbs 7ozs now and 4 months old today!
Shes def not ready for solids though loving her milk too much

teething with a vengence though
how's luc? sleeping any better?

4month jabs tomorrow wish me luck, I know she'll be fine but i hate it.

ohhh Erin is a little Heffer too!! Love it!!
she's soo cute.
No rush with solids, its a messy job and a bit of a hassle to think of what to give them all the time.
Bottles are a no brainer.

Maybe Jello has popped........

Luc is a heffer too. 17lb 8oz at 19 weeks.

My god what a day I've had . Luc has nearly driven me to my limit, crying the second I take my attention away from him. I'm exhausted. When I think that I had plans to do an open university masters degree as I thought I'd have loads of time on my hands. Thankfully I couldn't afford it and cancelled. I don't even have time to pee anymore

Went for a long walk this afternoon so he'd sleep in his pushchair and so that I could go into zombie mode and just walk.

And I thought it was Friday and that Oli would be home tomorrow to help. How can it only be Thursday? Grrrr!

I must go and drink wine now for therapeutic reasons.

sounds like a rough day vicky. Hope Luc settled for bed ok though.

My day started good... Eren was being usual lovely smiley self, then as soon as his daddy left for work, he decided to give be grief. He's been very grumpy and unsettled all afternoon. I feel drained.

i'm bored too.
If i'm honest, i love staying home and taking care of Eren, but i get really bored and frustrated sometimes. I can't face going back to work, but feel like i need something....... maybe i just need some time to myself.

Ok now i feel guilty for wanting time 'off'....

Hi Mine, Harri 1 and Vicky31, I am in Winchmore Hill and am pregnant with only about 10 days to go. Like you, I did not attend any antenatal classes and was wondering how I could get in touch with other mums living around here. Heart about mumsnet from a friend who gave birth only a while ago and decided to join. Would love to meet you after giving birth.
