Jello39 · 03/11/2008 15:51

Hi Vicky,

Mine · 03/11/2008 21:23

Harri1 · 03/11/2008 22:53

Vicky31 · 04/11/2008 08:02

Mine · 04/11/2008 20:19

i have to work from home for a bit but i'll try and make it where ever you guys are
xxxxxx

Jello39 · 04/11/2008 22:59

hi, yes i can do tomorrow after Pushy mothers too. can do Enfield, softplay sounds like a nice idea also happy just to catch a coffee and catch up. 2.30/3.0 meet best for me. Jaxs

Vicky31 · 05/11/2008 09:19

Soft play would be good. I know Luc will be better behaved in there than in Starbucks. 2.30 - 3 is good for me so will see you there if that suits Mine too.

If anyone new fancies coming along it would be lovely to see you.

Jello39 · 05/11/2008 11:20

hi Vicky, see you later and hopefully the others.

Mine · 05/11/2008 12:01

i'll try and meet you there guys. i haven't finished crappy work yet

Vicky31 · 05/11/2008 19:13

It was good to see you today Jax - Luc really loves that place despite the grotty toys.

I made my doctors appointment by the skin of my teeth, only to have to sit in the waiting room for an hour because the doctor was running late. It wasn't easy to entertain Luc and he was tired and hungry. So then my doctor will only give me a prescription for one month of the pill because my blood pressure is a bit high. Is it any wonder?! Grrrrr!

Right, I'm off out to the pub with my friend soon for some lovely food.

Mine, hope you got your work done. We'll see you next time.

hi guys

i'm soo sorry i didn;t make it. I was so cross with work. Its my day off and i had to spend most of the day writing a report that i found out today they don;t actually need until friday next week!

Vicky i completely sympathise with you on the food front. Eren still refuses the odd meal i have lovingly prepared... notably the fish pie i made.... he hates fish!!

Eren is now trying to walk.. yay! But its really frustrating as i can;t leave him to play on his own and expect to find him in the same spot anymore. He's like a deamon... just will not sit still at all EVER.
Its very draining.

waves to everyone else.

Hope to see everyone soon.

Vicky31 · 06/11/2008 19:22

Mine, I'm having the same thing with Luc. He's off round the furniture and pulling himself up onto everything. Because he's getting his balance he sometimes forgets to hold on and tries to walk off somewhere. I spend my days hovering and trying to prevent injury.

I wish someone would make me fish pie

Mine · 06/11/2008 20:34

its exciting to see them becoming more independent and learning more things everyday but biy is it draining.

Eren seems to think i'm one big climbing frame
If i'm getting in his way, he'll just climb over me to get where he needs to go.

Not sure if anyone else is having problems with bathtime recently.... Eren used to love his baths but now has an absolute crying fit if he goes anywhere near it...... but i don;'t know why...........

Hi everyone,

I haven't been on this thread for ages, have been quite busy with parents coming over, DD's immunisations etc... She's now 3 months old and starting to settle down nicely. It feels like I'm at the end of a tunnel at last. I'm also starting to feel like my old self again.

Vicky31 · 09/11/2008 14:00

Hi August5

Sounds like things are going well for you. I'll admit that I found the first few months pretty hellish, but after that it just got better and better and I enjoy every month that goes by even more. Glad you're feeling like your old self again.

Harri1 · 09/11/2008 15:10

Hi all,
Sorry I didn't make it last week bit hectic after pushy mothers.
Erin has taken her first steps!!!!!
V exciting but can't leave her for a second now!
Nearly time for mmr jab, what are you guys going to do?
Advice please
x

Vicky31 · 13/11/2008 09:03

Hi Harri
Congratulations to Miss Erin on her first steps! She's certainly put the boys in their place.
Re MMR, I don't have a problem with it. As far as I'm aware the study that showed a link with autism was very small and widely discredited in the medical profession, but it just got blown out of all proportion by the newspapers. Every study since (and I suspect there have been loads) has shown no link whatsoever. Measles, mumps and rubella can all be pretty nasty so Luc will definitely be having the MMR.
I do tend to get on my soapbox a bit on the subject of mothers not vaccinating their children.
Hope all is well with you.

Hey ladies
Can I have a quick rant?

I went out shopping in Enfield with a friend this afternoon, leaving Oli to look after Luc. I told him that if Luc hadn't slept by 3.30 to put him in his cot because he would be tired and a nap then wouldn't interfere with his usual bedtime. Is that too difficult to follow? Anyway, needless to say that he hasn't slept and if he naps now he'll have to go to bed later (and I'm a stickler for bedtime - my non-baby evenings are precious to me).

That's not the subject of my rant though. When I looked a bit annoyed to learn that Luc hadn't slept Oli said defensively "I've looked after him for three hours haven't I so that you can go out?" So I should just be grateful that he's looked after his own son for a few hours and not expect him to do it well? Because presumably looking after him is my job and Oli has done me a massive favour?! Grrrr!!!

Sorry about that....rant over

Vx

Hi, i would love to meet other mums in Enfield. I live in winchmore hill. I have a 4 month old girl and a 2 yr old son. does anyone want to meet for a coffee and a chat?

Jello39 · 17/11/2008 16:50

Hi Emma,

welcome onboard, i have a 7 month son, although I work from home usually manage to get out for a coffee. Sure some of the other girls would love to meet, we do try and meet up as much as possible although some of us are back at work.

Girls - anyone around for a coffee this week

Harri - can't do Pushy mothers again on Wed, got to go into work, I worked so hard to get my airport meeting done on Thu and my boss comes along and decides he wants it on Wed as its better for him. What is it about Wednesdays and work??? Ahhhhhhhh......

Jello39 · 17/11/2008 16:55

continuing on from Vicky's rant my dh drives me mad when I ask for a lie in on the weekend. his reply is of course you can have a lie in, you can take Aaron in with you. Noooooooo the point is I want the lie in on my own, so that I can sleep without me having one ear open listening for him, so he does move around on the bed or God forbid fall out of it. DH says put him in the middle and wrap your arm round him, that will do it.. He just doesnt get it.. men

Vicky31 · 17/11/2008 18:33

I can't do Thursday but any other day is fine. Welcome emmaz - I have a son who will be one on Thursday!

Mine · 17/11/2008 21:09

oh boy! I sooo get the rants

DH does the same even though i leave very specific instructions.
If he has to have Eren for the day (when he is not at work but i am) i often call to check up and find that he has gone 4-5 hours without food or milk and then he wonders why Eren is being grumoy and fussy!! The poor kid is telling you he's STARVING!! Oh and he doesn;t give him his naps on time so by the time i get home he is either overstimulated or soo tired he;s conked out and don;t get to spend any time with him!!

ohhhh i feel better for letting it out
But most of the time DH is brilliant!

I'm off on Thursday this week but it sounds like thats no good for anyone. Maybe next week...??

How exciting Vicky.... can you believe your little baby is nearly 1.... i still can;t get my head around Eren being one. I still see him as a baby IYKWIM.....
