Mine · 16/09/2008 13:25

i hate it.
I just want to be home with my son

pscc · 17/09/2008 22:01

Hiya, Have just had a look at this web pagr for the first time and it is great! Would be great to chat to other mums in the area.
Xx

Mine · 18/09/2008 13:37

Harri - i am soo sorry i couldn;t make it yesterday. I ended up working from home on and off as i have now got access to my work emails from home. This does not bode well for my 'day off'.

Welcome PCSS!! Where abouts in enfield are you...??

How many lo's have you got..??

Tell all!!

Vicky31 · 18/09/2008 18:38

Hi PCSS!

Sorry about yesterday Mine/Harri. Dh had a work exam, I assumed at his company head office in London but turned out to be in St Albans so he needed the car. Apparently he had told me this but I do tend to switch off when he talks about work too much.

And talking of work, how's it all going with everyone? Mine, you sound miserable

Luc had a screaming fit in the bath this evening when I washed his hair. He won't lie back anymore for me to rinse his hair so the water goes in his face and makes him cry. I bought one of those shield things that go on their heads but he just pulls it straight off. Next idea is a special jug from Mothercare which is supposed to stop the water going in their faces. We shall see. God what inane stuff to talk about. I wish I had some juicy gossip instead but I really don't.

A good friend of mine is getting married next month and I'm so excited that I'll get to party and stay out all night. I'm thinking I may need some scary stomach holding in knickers under my dress though as I can't suck it all in the way I could before Luc

pscc · 18/09/2008 20:11

Hi Vicky,
I got the trinny and susannah magic knickers for a wedding I recently went to- they are great- except when you get very very drunk, fall over and everyone see the lovely pants you are wearing!! I am borders of enfield and southgate- just by the asda - but as I lived in enfield for ages- I consider myself an enfield girl! My son is just the same when it comes to washing his hair- I have resulted to just letting him scream for a few minutes- I know it sounds awful but with the two of them (daughter 21/2 years and son 16months) ahev no time! Anyway- how boring am I?!

Mine · 18/09/2008 21:15

i too have a screaming son who hates water in his eyes. He literally tries to climb out the bath, all slipping and sliding, when i pour water on his head!!

The wedding sounds fun vicky. Are they getting married somewhere nice???

I totally get the suck-in stomach thing. Now i'm back at work i literally have to do it all day if i;m standing up......the stupid things we do eh.

Talking of work - i truly hate it. Its too stressful, the commute is tiring and i'm just exhausted by the time i get home. To top it off, i have caught a cold from the dirty commuters! I haven;t had a single sniffle since i have been on maternity leve, but 3 days back and bam.... i get the lurges

Jello - tell me this will get better....??
I;m certainly not of the mindset of some mums that relish their time at work for adult conversation and stimulating their minds. I'd rather spend all day playing with Eren.

At least its friday tomorrow!!

pscc · 18/09/2008 21:38

I dont know- I have just had another son (1 month old) and as much as I love my kids- somtimes I do wish I was back at work- maybe just part time! It certainly was easier than being at home with 3 kids under the age of 3- but luckily me newborn does'nt have much hair so washing him is a breeze compared to the other 2!

Vicky31 · 19/09/2008 10:04

pscc....a 1 month old, 16 month old and 2 1/2 year old?!! You must be a glutton for punishment. Seriously though, I am in complete awe of you as one 10 month old is quite enough to wear me out. Bedtime must be fun in your house I predict we'll be seeing number 4 in 15 months time as there's definitely a pattern going on there. Wow, I'm getting all mathematical at 10 in the morning - my brain must be coming back.

Poor Mine - I hope it gets better for you soon. I know what you mean about dirty commuters. I'm so much healthier since not going on the train every day. I used to particularly hate men who sat with their legs wide open so that part of their leg was over the next seat. What are they trying to prove? It's like the commuter equivalent of having a big car.

Must make myself presentable now for Musical Minis. I don't want to look like a scummy mummy.

Harri1 · 19/09/2008 19:16

Hi all, welcome pcss , i'm in palmers green so not to far from you.

Mine- am sure it will get easier poor you though, I only do 2 days so maybe not so bad as I know Ihave the rest of the week with erin, but adult converation even though mostly about other children- perks of being a school teacher- is a relief, 9 month old converation isn't all that for a grown up brain!!!!!! send you a hug xxxxx

jaxs, don't worry will hopefully catch up soon though, hope it's all going well, don't get too swamped

ENjoy the wedding vicky, will have to get some of those pants I think I have a wedding in october!!!

Lets try and meet up ladies our babies won't recognise each other
xxxx

pscc · 19/09/2008 19:38

Vicky- not sure abput number 4!! Number 3 was not suppose to arrive until number 2 was atleast 5 years old!!!
If it was up to my husband he would have 6- I DONT THINK SO!!!
Bedtimes is not too bad as my daughter (eldest one) is a god send she helps me with the middle one, sings him twinkle twinkle to get him to sleep, gives him his dummy, e.t.c and I put the baby to bed- but by 9pm I am shattered!
Harri1- great to have someoneelse close by, where do you go for mother toddler groups?
Shattered- so getting ready for bed (how sad am I not even 9pm)!!
Chat soon

Have just come back from a bbq with some of the most boring people on Earth. Am feeling strangely dissatisfied with my life today - although that could just be that I lost the will to live at the bbq. I do love my life ordinarily but there are days when I would just like to run away and be on my own and have a bit of peace and today is one of them. Maybe X Factor will snap me out of it

pscc · 20/09/2008 22:04

Vicky- I hear you! I am there sometimes!

Harri1 · 21/09/2008 19:34

Great to see we have more mummys in our ickle group.

Jaxs.... hows it going??

Jello39 · 24/09/2008 22:16

Hi Grils,

busy, busy, sometimes I hate working.
Mine - as I only go in once a week its not so bad but can imagine it must be horrible if doing a full week. Afraid to say it is nice just to get out once a week to have adult conversation though i can't wait to get home at the end of the day to Aaron. He does though tend to get very clingy for a few days after.

Hi PSCC - welcome aboard... wow doing great at 3, at the moment just getting used to the one. I'm in PG. alway love to talk to another mum. sure you've got lots to tell.

Harri - sorry couldnt make it today - yet another meeting, big boss over from Barcelona today and I've got to go back in tomorrow again for an airport meeting. Going to be shattered by tomorrow night. probably won't be able to do next week either as all the other account managers are away next week and my last ship is on Thursday.

We've been to Baby Rhyme Time for the last 2 Tuesday's. He seems to like it, though spends the whole session dribbling and then pukeing up after all the throwing around.

Went to a 40th birthday party at the weekend. Intended to go at around 8pm, stay for a few hours and then head home leaving Aaron with a friends babysitter looking after her girls. Ended up with us running along the street at 10.30 at night with Aaron in stroller done up in his sleep suit, travel bag and hat to the party. Our friends didnt have a babysitter after all so we were at this black and white do quaffing champers in a lovely marquee with wee little Aaron. All the party goers loved him though a little amused that a baby was in attendence. He loved it, his eyes were firmly wide open and took ages for him to finally give in to sleep in the arms of a rather hugh and dishy fireman. Although only spent a few hours it was nice to party down and get my freak on again even with baby in tow..

Off to Dorset for the weekend, will take some feat. I take everything but the kitchen sink just to go down to the shops.

Hope to get to see you all soon. Mean time much love. Jaxs

Mine · 25/09/2008 21:34

jello you party animal!! Sounds like the 3 of you had a lot of fun

It was great to see you harri yesterday. Erin is gorgeous! I love the way she chomps on the banana

I passed on Bell's business card to one of my editorial teams. I'll pass on the website to the other one and they can contact her directly if they want to.

Vicky - i hope the memorial service went well and your DH is ok.

Well, after we got home yesterday from meeting up with Harri Eren decided he wanted to surprise us and started to crawl for the very first time!! He and finally got the hang of it. Its hilarious to watch him from behind

Vicky31 · 26/09/2008 08:20

Congratulations to Mr Eren!!! He will be getting a girlfriend and a mortgage before you know it

August5 · 29/09/2008 16:40

Hi, I'm new to Mumsnet and parenthood (my daughter was born 8 weeks ago) and on maternity leave until at least January. I would like to meet other Mums in Enfield in the daytime for a chat. Thanks

Mine · 29/09/2008 20:17

Hey August5!!
congrats on the bambino.

I have an 11month old monster called Eren. Now he's crawling he's difficult to contain!

Whats everyone been up to???

Jello39 · 30/09/2008 00:34

Hi August 5,
welcome aboard, my little darling Aaron is almost 6 months now, also first time mum.

All back from Dorset, had a lovely time, weather great, castle was really interesting, spooky at night, had a roaring open fire which Aaron loved. mil was not so keen on me breastfeeding in public, although I was very discreet. Tough Aaron needed feeding so that was that. Apart from that we treated her as it was her 70th b/day to a photographer who took loads of photos of the family around the castle and grounds. The best family shot we will then be framing for her.

Mine · 30/09/2008 13:45

Photo idea sounds great Jello - we;ve been meaning to do that since Eren was born too but haven;t quite got around to it...

Are you guys free on Sat 25th Oct???
We are having a birthday party for Eren's friends so i hope youguys can make it.

I've got some invites i need to get around to posting!!!
