The sun in shining in Enfield. Loving it.

Might light the BBQ for dinner tonight! Am very excited.... i know it doesn;t take much!

Jello39 · 22/04/2008 23:25

ok, not giving infacol every feed so will try and be more regular.

thks for tip re cranial osteopathyy, actually spoke to my antenatal teacher over weekend and she advised this too so he is now booked for one at the beginning of May, hope this helps him to sleep.

He is still awake now having been up since 9am this morning. He slept for 90 mins this afternoon, looks so tired but won't fall asleep. I've been nursing him practically all day. now really need my sleep too. will tell all about birth on next msg.

Hope to c u tomorrow,

Harri1 · 23/04/2008 09:12

Morning all- hope bbq was good yesterday mine, the weather was great for it.

Jello- keep going it will get easier will he sleep out in his buggy? would give you some fresh air too.

Vicky are you out there somewhere? You've gone very quiet.

Mine · 23/04/2008 09:31

jello - i won;t be able to make it to the baby group today, Eren isn't feeling well, so i'm keeping him locked in today.

Anyone up for a catch up next week?

BBQ was great. It was nice to get a taste of summer, but sadly short lived...... crappy rain!

Vicky31 · 23/04/2008 09:57

Hi ladies, I'm still here, just been a bit hectic. Luc has a cold and has been a bit of a nightmare, especially yesterday. I've got a little fan thing for his room that sends out vapour to clear his nose and we've raised the cot up a bit at one end which I think has helped.

Wasn't it a lovely day yesterday. If my garden wasn't a building site I'd have had a bbq too.

I can do any day next week which is a bit sad. Off to London with Luc tomorrow to visit my work friends. I've got a little stroller type buggy for him so hopefully will be easier on and off trains.

Jello, I don;t have any advice I'm afraid. I'm sure you feel like crap and may be wondering why you ever wanted a baby (that's how i felt anyway). The thing that helped me the most was hearing other peoples tales of woe and knowing that I wasn't alone, so hopefully the stork club will be just the thing

Have a good day everyone.

Jello39 · 23/04/2008 11:39

Hi guys,

sorry you can't make it Mine - its a crap day anyway for it. will try and go just to get out of house for a few hours.

BBQ - hope we get somre days for more of those. Feeling rather like a milk machine at the moment as Aaron feeds almost constantly.

Now keeping him at it as MW weighed him on Monday and he is just below his birth weight so she is coming back on Friday to weigh him again.

I'm up for a meet next week. can't do Friday as doing the cranial massage to Aaron, can do any other day.

Thanks for all the support girls.

Mine · 23/04/2008 15:34

hi all
I don;t have much going on next week for now either so any day good for me.

Shall we say Tuesday...????

Jello - did you manage top get to the stork club?? If so, how was it??

I'm defo going next wednesday.

Harri1 · 23/04/2008 19:25

Tuesday sounds good. Where and when?

Jello- don't worry about his birth weight he'll regain soon enough when you've both settled into a routine, but at least the midwife is still visiting and keeping on top of it. Hope to see you next week

Mine · 24/04/2008 10:13

jello have you thought about playing Aaron some white noise music to put him to sleep??
I bought a Baby Soother CD when he was like your ds and it used to realllly help put him to sleep.

If you can't find it, i'll bring it with me when i next see you.
Here's more info www.babysooth.com/htm/about_us.htm

the one we got was of the baby in the clouds... Here's one on WH Smiths www.whsmith.co.uk/CatalogAndSearch/SearchWithinCategory.aspx?cat=%5CBooks%5CAudiobooks%5CAudi oHealthWellbeing%5CAudioPregnancyChildcare&frPrice=5%2C10&ftFormatBooks=Audiobook

or Amazon....... www.amazon.co.uk/Jaygee-Babysooth-R-J-Wannell/dp/0951307401

hope this helps.
PS how was the Stork Club yesterday?

Jello39 · 24/04/2008 15:35

Hi Mine,

I'll look into the white noise music as I've noticed that when we run the taps or use the vacuum cleaner he goes quiet so that's a good idea. Will check it out.

Stork Club was good yesterday. Busy, quite a number of mums, all first timers, me + 2 others were new. Soraya the mw who runs it is a lovely woman who welcomed and introduced us to the other mums but spent most of her time with us as it was our first time. Gave us some information and tips.
Mothers there have babies more around the ages of you girls. Aaron was the youngest , they were all surprised I was out already.
Babies had toys, activity arches, playmats and babies were very contently lying around enjoying themselves while mums chattered and exchanged info. Soraya also very informative as she has 5 kids and you can ask her questions about baby. The room is small so she cannot take more than about 20 mums but they are planning on moving soon.
Definitely worth a visit.

Off out now hoping the rain will hold off as it is quite a nice day.

Mine · 24/04/2008 16:02

sounds great Jello. Its good that you're getting out a bit, it can get very stressful staying at home all the time with a newborn.
How is Aaron doing...?

Re next Tuesday... i'm easy on where we go. If the weather is wabbish, you guys are welcome to come to my crumbling castle for lunch.
If the weather is good, maybe we could go to a park or something.... Though not sure if Aaron will be ok out in the wind!
I'm easy

Vicky31 · 24/04/2008 17:11

Hi ladies
Stork club sounds great. Do you need to contact them or just turn up? And Tues is good for me - shall we wait and see what the weathers doing and decide?
Had a good trip to London today with Luc to see the girls from work. Luc enjoyed being the centre of so much female attention. The stroller buggy is really handy for the trains and I bought him a nice cosytoes from e-bay so he looked very funky. Tired now but dh is home early so think I'll have a little rest.
Jello, you are doing great to be out and about so much - that's something I really struggled with, but it rained almost constantly in the weeks after Luc was born so it was easier to stay home. It definitely lifts my mood when I go out and about though. Hope your doing ok.

Jello39 · 25/04/2008 22:49

Hi all,

doing well, me, dh and Aaron took a trip to Bishop Stortford as dh getting a filling.
nice day for it but now tired so will take it easy at the weekend. Aaron slept most of the afternoon so expect he might well be up tonight.

no mw again today - promised would see me over the weekend1!!!

Vicky - I think you do need to contact Soraya though I don't think she would turn you away if you just turned up.

doing ok,it certainly helps me to get outside now and again to cope with the lack of sleep and feeding.

dh is back at work next week so hope I will be ok. It will be strange being at home on my own with Aaron and trying to get the day to day stuff done.

Tuesday ok for me wherever.

FG1 · 26/04/2008 20:13

Hello all! I'm a new mum and have a ds who is 15 weeks old ! Can't believe how fast he is growing! i live near enfield town and would love to meet up with you ladies when you next meet. I need some adult conversation!

fg1

Mine · 26/04/2008 21:51

welcome FG1!!
Pull up a chair and grab a cuppa!

Are you free next tuesday......??
Not sure where or what time we're meeting, but its defo on tuesday.

I defo understand abt the upheaval of having a baby..... mine is 6 1/2 months, and we;'re still trying to adjust!
DS keeps changing the rules on a fortnightly basis.
He now prefers to eat from a spoon and chooses not to drink any milk. I'm really worried he's not drinking enough.
Why does he keep changing the rules......?????

Harri1 · 27/04/2008 11:37

Morning all and welcome FG1.
Mine we have jus t given dd her first baby rice!!!!!
I was more excited than her I think.
We've got swimming on tues morning so look forward to seeing you all in the pm.
Le us know th plan.

Hi vicky glad you had a good time in london, its good to do something different isn't it?

Jello- you sound more positive it will keep getting easier even though as mine says they do keep changing the goalposts

See you all on tues
xx

Jello39 · 27/04/2008 16:28

Hi FG1,welcome too,

Hi Harri- way to go there... another milestone reached.

I'm waiting for that first smile.

Aaron no weight change yet so mw discharged me and the hv will continue to monitor. I've worked so hard on the breast feeding so hope I will now not have to start on the formula. will stay positive.

looking forward to Tues.

Vicky31 · 27/04/2008 18:22

Hi Ladies

Welcome FG1. It's good that our little group is growing. Another boy! What a lot of boyfriends Erin will have

Ds still has his cold and is still constipated so I think I'll take him to the doctors tomorrow. It's so hard to settle him at the moment as he just cries and cries when he's tired and will only sleep once he's completely worn himself out. I went out for lunch with a friend on Friday and was so embarrassed as he was really going off on one.

Harri, will be good to hear how the swimming goes as we're taking Luc for the first time on Friday.

Why isn't there a little face to denote tiredness? Surely that one would be the most used

xx

Mine · 28/04/2008 12:24

hi folks
How are everyone today??
Vicky - is luc any better....?? I hate it when they are ill. Its hard work at the best of times, but when they are ill..... oh boy.

Any ideas abt where to meet tomorrow??
Maybe somewhere in palmers Green so Jello can make it...?
Can't wait to see little aaron!!

Jello39 · 28/04/2008 16:08

Hi girls,

I'm happy for P.G. if you can do it otherwise Enfield Town is just as good. Happy to do the Starbucks thing again. It is rather cosy in there.

Can we do around 1.30pm /2.00pm

Let me know...

Jaxs

FG1 · 28/04/2008 17:39

Hi! Sorry can't make it this tuesday. My dh works away during the week and we are going with him this week.

If you meet again next week I would love to come along with ds of course! Anyday except weds morning.

Any tips on combining bottle with bf? Dh and I are going to a wedding in 2 weeks and were planning on leaving ds with mum in the evening. We have been trying to introduce bottle for 2 weeks and he does not like it at all. He did take it when he was 4 weeks old but I didn't carry on with it which was a mistake as now he doesn't want to know and would rather stay hungry.

Have fun tomorrow!

fg1

Mine · 28/04/2008 17:49

FG have you tried expressing and giving bf in a bottle....??

Starbucks in PG was nice and big, well bigger than the one in enfield town so better for us with buggies!

Vicky31 · 28/04/2008 18:44

Hi ladies

Mine - Luc still not his normal self and it's exhausting. I'm looking forward to tomorrow though so I hope he doesn't scream down Starbucks. Palmers Green is fine for me. Shall we say 2pm?

FG1, I have a friend whose baby really didn't like the bottle and they found that she would take a special needs teat (although she's perfectly normal). I've also seen this on a tv program. The teat is longer and the baby controls the milk differently - I think I've seen them in the Mothercare catalogue. Hope that helps. Where do you get to go to with dh this week? Sounds like fun.

Right, I have an appointment with a big glass of wine and it's running late.

See ya tomorrow!

Mine · 28/04/2008 19:49

oh poo. I can;t make it for 2pm, i will only be able to stay for 30mins then have to go pick up my cousin from school

Would it be ok to make it a little bit earlier......??????
If not, don;t worry, i'll catch everyone next time.

Vicky31 · 29/04/2008 09:12

Any time is fine with me......
