Why are there so few MNers in Cambridge?

Just curious really, as to why it might be

Is it in the new fancy-pantsy bit? I was in Cambridge on Saturday but it was too crowded to do much other than just buy what I needed and scarper.

oooh gritted you must mean a shop that is in the old part, as you said Lion Yard. It's not Pia (the jewellery shop?) is it? or that health food shop tht sell pom bears? Holland and Barret?

Hotel Chocolat's HQ is in Huntingdon, they have a factory shop. There are some good bargains but I was a bit disappointed that there were no oompa loompas.

EauRouge I haven't lived here long, to be honest it's a bit far out from Cambridge for me but it's too bloody expensive to live further in! How near/far to Huntingdon do you live?

Ohmygoshandgolly we used to live in the People's Republic of ... as well, oh how I miss the brilliant pub that was just on the next block, DD1 used to say "mummy I want to go to the piggy house" oh well if you insist...

We're now just across town close to the folk festival. I met a MNer in my ante-natal yoga class, we'd been on the same AN thread for a couple of months then realised we 'knew' each other when I told an anecdote one of the other mums had shared, using the classic disclaimer "a friend of mine said", and she looked at me in a 'hang on a minute...!' kind of way :)

I'm about 5 miles from Huntingdon. I know what you mean about house prices, my village is full of people that work in Cambridge and don't earn loads or people who work in Cambridge and their partner works in Peterborough. You can probably figure out from that where I am.

Hmm fruitshoots... Did you say you were east out of Cambridge? I not very clued up on places that way. I'm over the west side (outside of cambridge) - sounds like you have lots of commuters to addenbrookes though?
