Wow we filled the thread guys. So as I was about to Say UR you've probably had squirrel if you've eaten Chinese . Think I've had most things. Just don't ask eat. Roasting hot here, very busy but having a blast. Enjoyed our new gym yesterday and picnic in the park tonight which was wonderful. Live music, handsome young men - need I say more.

No, I get it now. I just obviously don't have anything going on tomorrow.

DH says I should have stuck around. I say I could care less, and had things to do and didn't want to wait an extra 10-15 minutes. I can't say I'd want to be on TV, anyway. Especially today, when I ran errands at the last minute, and left the house without any makeup or anything.

His thoughts were someone would have seen them and decided they were so cute, they would become child actors. I said that he was rather biased in how cute they are, nobody would notice, and the absolute last thing I want is for them to be in any part of the entertainment industry, anyway.

dooneygirl · 31/12/2008 01:36

For all you who know about Visas and such, since I don't, and if you missed it kickassangel has some questions

SuperBunny · 31/12/2008 01:48

Why are there never TV cameras around when you look stunning? They always appear when I have left the house looking unwashed, disheveled and slightly ill. Your DH is not biased, Dooney but I'd say Dinner* is up there with them

For newbies, Dinner is my DS. His friend used to call him that when they were little(r). He just got our of bed to say, "Do you remember when I came woosh down the chimney?" He thinks he is Santa

alipiggie · 31/12/2008 01:52

Just posted on the other thread. As for tomorrow. My gorgeous boys and I (when I get in from work) will chill watch a movie or too (champagne for me - I deserve it and sparkly soda for them) nibblie bits and no doubt some tears - me. We'll see in our GREAT NEW YEAR together.

To all my Cyber friends just in case I don't do it later - have a wonderful and peaceful start to 2009 I hope that we all have an amazing/better year than 2008. We all deserve it.

We have much the same plans, ali.

Here's another wish for a great/better year

dooneygirl · 31/12/2008 02:23

That cracks me up that he thinks he's Santa.

Dinner is awfully cute. I kind of think you live in a Wonder Pets episode, too. I can see him happily singing and dancing his way down the road.

What a great sentiment, ali. I'll be happy with nobody's house burning down, and no children in the hospital this year.

It looks like we're watching Happy new year Charlie Brown tonight. They flashed the prime time lineup on the news, and Colin saw it was on. Why did nobody tell me this whole your kid can read thing is such a PITA?

mananny · 31/12/2008 02:27

I'll second (or third or fourth) the wishes for a fabulous 2009!!!

Things are already looking up for me, so I am optimistic that the next year can only keep getting better. I really hope the same can be said for you lot too

SuperBunny · 31/12/2008 02:32

I'm with you all too - to 2009! Onwards and Upwards!

Yes, we have singing and dancing and drumming [@#@#*] all day long. I am not going to teach Dinner how to read nor tell the time. I think life will be much simpler if he can do neither.

mananny · 31/12/2008 02:40

LOL at SB. I am not going to teach the twins to read or tell the time either. Their mum wants them to do it all NOW but I tried to explain she'll rue the day that the twins possess such powerful tools of manipulation!!!!!!! They already argue black is white with no need to tell the time or read anything. In fact I think Little Miss is going to be a lawyer. She can apply logical reasoning to anything she argues about, which at 3yrs old is both scary and annoying! (However I am supremely proud of her as she skied down a big hill for the first time last weekend and is showing a natural affinity for speed and balance (I hate her))

Earlybird · 31/12/2008 02:54

Oooh jabber - know just what you mean about being ready for school to begin again. Most of the time it is lovely being a 2 person family, but it is quite intense and after so much holiday togetherness dd and I both are ready to spend time with other people.

We are planning to go to the country tomorrow afternoon to spend 3 days hiking, chatting, reading, eating, sleeping and sitting in front of the fire. It should be a quiet and peaceful way to begin the new year.

Wishing peace, joy and prosperity to all for 2009.

AnnieLaurie · 31/12/2008 03:11

Oh pissing, pissing hell, managed to reverse our new (well, 2nd hand but new) Honda Odyssey into concrete pillar in carpark today. Bu*&$£ering Hell!!! This is not good thng to do when a) due to take our US driving tests in a week or so and b) not good time for car to have to go into garage for repairs in case I go into labour early.

WHAT am I going to tell DH when he gets home

Oh, oh, a baileys milkshake, whoever was going on about them earlier, I want one, that sounds sooooo good!!!! Will have to wait til have had the baby, humph.

New Year plans? I am planning on saying to Dh 'Just popping upstairs for a sec' at about 7.30pm, waddling my way up to the bedroom and going to bed and sleeping for 4 hours or so, then coming back down for midnight to say happy new year - reckon he won't even notice, if he has a few beers and..who is it..Dick Clark?? - on tv for company!!

mananny · 31/12/2008 03:38

Hi AnnieLaurie, I am the Bailey's milkshake Queen sounds like you could do with one after your Odyssey mishap!

Basic recipe for anyone interested: 3" of Baileys, 3" of milk and 3 generous scoops of Ben and Jerrys organic Vanilla icecream in a pint glass, then pour it in a blender with a handful of icecubes and whiz til frothy. Then pour back into pint glass and give your tastebuds multiples!!!!! It is seriously orgasmic. You can also make a similar one with Kahlua and add a banana along with the rest of the ingredients. Yum.

It has suddenly occurred to me that most of the delicious things in my life involve alcohol. Should I be concerned? LOL.

Cali! Am glad you had such a great trip. What a busy time you are having.

dooneygirl · 31/12/2008 04:38

You have to deal with your EILs far too often, Cali.

SuperBunny · 31/12/2008 04:44

Dooney, when I am meant to start nagging encouraging you about 10/10

AnnieLaurie · 31/12/2008 04:50

Hi MAnanny, I am going to print out your milkshake recipe and stick it on the fridge to look forward to...mmmmm!

SuperBunny · 31/12/2008 04:54

Annie, I missed your earlier post - are you ok? I had a car incident last week and am still cross about it. Did you tell DH? DO you have a spare car, just in case?

dooneygirl · 31/12/2008 05:15

Um. Next week. This week is a bit hectic, trying to fit in a bunch of stuff before school starts again. Definitely next week. Or maybe you should do some build up nagging in a few days. Do things like black beans and chick peas count? Otherwise, I'm doomed.

AnnieLaurie · 31/12/2008 05:16

I'm Ok thanks, just got a fright and felt a bit tearful.

Have told Dh and he has been really good about it, is looking at our insurance stuff but we will prob have to just pay for it, not good timing with new baby on the way.

Think we will have to get a hire car while ours is in the garage, then will have to keep fngers crossed that waters dont break or worse in the hire car!

Cali, who is GayDH?

jabberwocky · 31/12/2008 15:34

annie, so sorry about the car. Things like that really upset me - even when I'm not pregnant.

cali, the trip to Anaheim sounds really great. FWIW, I've been on the palm springs tram ride and not sure that it would have been worth $85 and 3 hours so I think you made the right choice

you've all been so chatty I know I'm going to miss replying to something and I have to dash off to try to look decent before ds1's playdate arrives.
