Roasting hot here, very busy but having a blast. Enjoyed our new gym yesterday and picnic in the park tonight which was wonderful. Live music, handsome young men - need I say more.

I want a gaydh

mananny · 31/12/2008 17:15

Me too

SuperBunny · 31/12/2008 17:54

I'd settle for any DH, gay or not.

Dooney, the usual rule is that pulses can count only once, no matter how much you eat. But, since we aim for ten, which is double the normal recommendation, we count 2 portions. Juice only once though (and that includes smoothies)

SuperBunny · 31/12/2008 18:57

Cali, did you get my email?

dooneygirl · 31/12/2008 19:10

Aaaaahhhh. . . too much math involved. I'm melting.

SuperBunny · 01/01/2009 00:43

It's just counting to ten Dooney, not even that. Usually only seven or eight. I am sure you can do it!

Prosecco, stilton and good bread at the ready...

dooneygirl · 01/01/2009 00:47

I don't understand stilton. It is really bad.

I'm on a major sugar crash right now. I had to eat all the candy out of the house before the new year, and I succeeded.

mananny · 01/01/2009 00:52

Roffle at Dooney!!!! I did that today too, 2 bags of Swedish fish and I feel gross! But I also joined a gym and AM going tomorrow for my first workout of the new year. My aim is to go twice a week and build up to 5 times a week. I am desperate to lose about 3 stone and have decided to really work at it before I turn 31 and/or diabetic this year! Might join you on the 10 thread.

alipiggie · 01/01/2009 00:52

Champagne's chilling, potatoes roasting, Enya on - tears already in eyes. Sigh. Cheers everyone I've started with a large Gin and Tonic, was cr**py week at work too.

Going Ice Skating tomorrow, what a great start to 2009 . Yeah.

The parents have toasted in the New Year, with a wee dram and fireworks in London - wish they were here

I don't really "get" New Year's. Today is today and tomorrow is tomorrow, and what's the big deal? But the last few years, I seem to have spent the daylight hours of Dec. 31st doing not much of anything productive and eating copious amounts of sugar. I guess that's my tradition.

SuperBunny · 01/01/2009 01:00

Ali, roast spuds sounds great.

I am going to go for a run tomorrow

cali

Can anyone talk to me about a wii... would DS be able to use the wii music? I got a bit of $ for xmas and his constant drumming and air guitaring is driving me bonkers so I was wondering if a wii would help? Would he be able to use it to drum? or something. Except that they seem to be $350 and I thought they'd be cheaper than that.

alipiggie · 01/01/2009 02:18

SB try your local Craiglist for a used one. The boys Dad got them and they LOVE it. They the Wii fit with board and ds2 can already do the Ski Jump. I think Dinner would love it to be honest. Shop around though and try and get the Wii Fit if you can and then a Lego game - Indiana Jones, Batman or Star Wars for Star Wars you can even get the Wii light sabers . Can't you tell I'm wishing it was me that had it.

We don't have Wii Music, but Caitlin has been able to figure out and participate in pretty much any game we have without help except for Guitar Hero, and she can even do that with help.

Oh SB, that is lovely. I wish you the same.

Oh that is very nice! I wish the same

What a lovely post, SB. Thank you for putting health first.

We've spent the first day of the New Year without power for a lot of it. Not too long after midnight, we were awakened with a loud and colorful display of a transformer blowing less than a block away. For some reason the power would come on for a few seconds, and it would explode again. I felt really sorry for the power crew, because it has rained almost 2 inches in 18ish hours, so what awful weather to be dealing with. At least it was a balmy mid-50's today, not the teens and 20s of late December when so many people around here lost power for several days.

alipiggie · 02/01/2009 05:08

SB you just made me well up again. Thanks for the wonderful sentiments. Been a tough start to the New Year and last year was one of the hardest I've ever had emotionally.

So I am wishing and praying that we all have the best one ever and echo all of SB's sentiments. Signing off as have to work tomorrow.

Peace and happiness to all. AP
