Wow we filled the thread guys. So as I was about to Say UR you've probably had squirrel if you've eaten Chinese . Think I've had most things. Just don't ask eat. Roasting hot here, very busy but having a blast. Enjoyed our new gym yesterday and picnic in the park tonight which was wonderful. Live music, handsome young men - need I say more.

Update: no response yet

But on the plus side I did get an A on my French oral Final this morning! I am going to celebrate by going to Starbucks for a mint choc chip frappacino concoction.

And this morning I got offered 2 jobs on the spot.

So, so far it's been a good day LOL. Now I have to go and collect the cat from the catspa. It's a hard life.

SuperBunny · 08/12/2008 18:20

No response yet? But we're all waiting! Anyone would think he had a job and a real life or something.

What a great day, Mananny - congrats on the job offers and the French. I knew your parlezing en Francais would be brillinat.

I notice there's a lot of people speculating that Cod has returned and wondering who she is. Should I offer up your posts on the last page as proof you are actually Cod in disguise?

Is anyone else seriously wishing they were a cat right now?

SuperBunny · 08/12/2008 19:11

No no! Let's just forget about my poor typimng. I am rubbish on msn but usually try to correct it on here.

jabberwocky · 08/12/2008 19:22

Congrats on the French final, mananny! And the job offers

Will send nephew an email nudge in a day or two. He really must get out more. He was quite social when he first moved to Boston.

dooney, definitely having catspa longing as apparently that's the only way I'm getting to a spa atm

mananny · 08/12/2008 22:52

Well I picked up the cat, he smelt all flowery, his fur was shiny and soft, and he had a look of pure disgust on his face. I don't think I'll be getting any love off him for a few days LOL

SuperBunny · 09/12/2008 04:10

I want to go to the catspa! When we took my dog, he'd come back all soft and fluffy and a bit poofy and he'd be really giddy. He loved going to the 'hairdressers'

Wildebeest · 09/12/2008 12:54

Hi all
I have emailed Califrau( who I presume/hope is in bed!) to ask her if she can fwd on an amazon.com order, if we pay for it etc, to us in the UK.
Don't worry it wont be a secret drugs stash!

If she is away or too busy can anyone else do it for me?

SuperBunny · 09/12/2008 14:16

I am at the Post Office twice a week if you need someone else, beast.

Wildebeest · 09/12/2008 15:08

Thanks, WT has found me one at gadget asia who seem to get ok reviews on ciao.
SO will haev to SPEAK to dh and see what he thinks. Lord, imagine speaking

SuperBunny · 09/12/2008 18:46

Speaking? I think I heard about that once

SuperBunny · 09/12/2008 19:13

I've just discovered Gavin and Stacey but just read that NBC are planning on remaking it for the US. Why oh why do they insist on ruining British comedies? Coupling, The Office and now this? It's being British that makes them funny. [fgrrrrrrr]

KarlWrenbury · 09/12/2008 20:47

omg
Gavin dnd stacey is not only funny but has a great soundtrack. AND its right up califraus alley being welsh and all.

SuperBunny · 10/12/2008 00:43

Yes, Welsh n all. I spent many a happy hour at Barry. Who are you Karl?

Tidy I've never seen Life on Mars.

Is Candyland a good game? I've never played it. Will Dinner be able to do it? Or do you have better suggestions for a 3 yr old?

dooneygirl · 10/12/2008 03:12

Candyland is a dreadfully boring game. If he's anything like my 2, he will be able to play it just fine, and love it, and want to play it all the time. They got theirs in this really cool 4-pack that had Chutes and Ladders, Heigh-Ho Cherry-o and Memory from DH's aunt a few years ago. All dreadfully boring games that they love, but fortunately there's two of them, and I don't have to play ALL the time.

SuperBunny · 10/12/2008 03:17

Yeah, I was looking on amazon and that 4-pack showed up and my heart sank

Thanks Dooney

dooneygirl · 10/12/2008 03:19

That probably is one of their most played-with presents ever.

I'm not a big bored board game person. My favorite is Elefun.

Those look cute. Too bad they're all in British. Then my two would be dealing with funny money, and sticking extra "u"s in all their words.

Candyland's been around forever here. I remember it when I was a kid.

So I saw your cookie cutter post on the FOOC thread. We have 8 different shapes of Christmas cookie cutters. Colin has decided he needs to make angel cookies for Santa. So we went to Michael's for shape number 9. I had to get some other things there anyway, and figured I'd spend the extra 79 cents to make him happy. He's been rather freaking out about having cookies for Santa, and has had several serious conversations with different people about it.

Speaking of Christmas cookies, has anyone ever used royal icing for them? I want something that gets kind of hard for the cookies for their school, and wanted to try that, but I've never had it before.

SuperBunny · 10/12/2008 03:53

Those do look good, Cali

I use Royal icing for my gingerbread House and xmas cake. Tis easy to make and great for piping but is made with egg white which is a problem for some.

dooneygirl · 10/12/2008 03:58

That's why I was going to Michael's anyway. I'd make it in a heartbeat for myself, as long as I had access to fresh, organic eggs, but would never do it for their classes, as I'm sure there would be several freaking out parents if they knew. I found a recipe that uses meringue powder, and I saw a can that was $21.99 in the grocery store, but got a can that was 1/2 the size for $5 in Michaels, and then had a 40% off coupon, also.

SuperBunny · 10/12/2008 04:04

i know you can make it with powdered egg whites too, which are pasteurised so are safe but I couldn't find them anywhere. Meringue powder should give the same results. Have fun!
