Jumper is sweater, and vest is undershirt/camisole. Stay warm with all the snow!

OverRated · 10/12/2007 04:10

lol Dooney. A vest is a sleeveless cotton tshirt worn underneath your normal clothes. I don't know what you call them. Undershirt, maybe?

I love Melissa and Doug toys - we have a stacking train set and a really good wooden house with a garage - DS loves it.

Am glad you got your tree out - it sounds very festive in your house.

The movie was Into the Wild, based on the book by John Krakaus. It was good, very powerful but quite disturbing too. I think it struck a few too many chords with me. Not that I am about to venture off into the wilderness with only a sack of rice but still... very sad.

Undershirt. Correct. I don't think I know any female that wears them. I wear a lot of t-shirts under my sweaters this year though, so maybe that counts?

It really is festive here. DS and I painted the ornaments while DD was napping, because I don't want her to have acrylic paint. DH got the tree set up, and the DS was jumping around saying that this is the BEST TREE EVER!!!!!!!, and DD was copying him. Funny, funny, funny if you were here to watch it. The neat freak side in me is really cringing because we have all of his school artwork hanging in the front window under the heat vent, and there is glitter everywhere from it, but it is a losing battle, so I only vacuum every few days.

jabberwocky · 10/12/2007 04:41

Finally, someone cleared up the vest thing for me

Also, love, love, love Melissa and Doug toys!

jabberwocky · 10/12/2007 04:42

Hmmm, I've had a couple of drinks so I'm thinking I got carried away on the loving toys thing.

But I do really like them a lot..

dingdongdooneygirlonhigh · 10/12/2007 04:45

Gotta love, love, love a happy drunk.

OverRated · 10/12/2007 04:58

And Melissa and Doug toys are really, really good

OR is that the movie about the Mormons?

Cali, was wondering if you were talking about wifebeater shirts. I only heard that term a few years ago. Must have fallen asleep for a few moments during white trash 101 class

Oh yeah. Verrrrrrrrry familiar with wife beaters. I spent 4 years of my life in Southern Oregon, don'cha know. I can't tell you how many people down there wore wife beaters. I don't think I can wear them now, because they will damage my psyche. Or something to that effect.

I saw Into the Wild, which is about a 22 yr old who graduates college then abandons 'normal' life, gives away all his savings ($24,000) and goes wandering through the US without telling anyone where he is going. He eventually ends up in Alaska, where he had always dreamed of going.

Sounds nice enough but was quite harrowing. It was originally a book, which I feel the need to read. You know, in case the movie wasn't disturbing enough. I think most people would be able to cope with it but I am overly sensitive atm!

Hope 'Daniel' coped with the White Trash party DS's name is spelt more or less phoenetically yet people often manage to get it wrong. It's really not that hard. Getting people's names wrong is one of my pet peeves so please excuse the little rant.

And, I'll have you know, I am wearing a spaghetti-strap top under my tshirt. It is not a vest.

How is that warmer than a t-shirt???????????

Speaking of White Trash, we had some move in to the neighborhood. I was talking to our other neighbors today, and it wasn't only me who was crying this weekend. They are loud, disrespectful and incredibly foul-mouthed. I loved where we were because it was so quiet and peaceful, but I guess that is over now. The people across the street were having an open house, and it didn't go to well, because the new people were blaring their music, the teenagers kept going into the open house's driveway and swearing up a storm.

Oh, no dingdong! White trash invasion is the worst We had a problem 2 years ago. Someone passed away on our street and the family let some relatives live there for free. It didn't take long to figure out why they needed a place to live. Both parents were alcoholics - although the mother/wife was the worst - and they had two little girls who went wandering around alone and inappropriately dressed. The mother has left now and things have improved somewhat.

How slippery can ice be? It's almost impossible to stand up outside. Ice Storms are not fun

No white trash round here. Only professors. And presidential candidates. I live on the 'wrong' side of the neighbourhood though, In the Ghetto as Elvis so delicately put it. Sadly, the lyrics are still quite accurate

dingdongdooneygirlonhigh · 12/12/2007 04:17

They seem to have been much better the past few days. Could have been the time they were so noisy and had DH and I and 4 other sets of neighbors outside staring at them.

I keep watching the weather in the morning and thinking of you and the storms, but for some reason my brain can't remember to ask you how you are doing at night.

jabberwocky · 13/12/2007 15:39

Cali, the shirts arrived today! They are so cute, thank you very much.

MN can be such a warm, fuzzy place

dingdongdooneygirlonhigh · 14/12/2007 02:34

Does anyone else love their Christmas tree as much as I do? It is only the 3rd one we've ever had, and we only had ours last year for a few days because of the whole situation with DH's mom dying. I just sit in the dark with the tree lit up and stare at it and giggle once and awhile. It is so pretty in the dark, even our dough ornaments we made look good.

(Yes, I know I'm a complete loser, but I can't really help it.)
