Lets have a new thread the other was getting a bit long!

All expats are welcome, I come from Perth WA and have been here for 8 years, married a pom and live in West London with my ds1 2yrs and ds2 1yr. No plans to move back to Oz but we are thinking of moving to Singapore for a couple of years. Well the weathers got to be better than here, and it will be further away from the inlaws

Hi Mellin, sounds like you had a fab holiday - you were gone forever! s'pore is good just adjusting to the heat!

As far as jetlagg goes, just go back to your routine as much as poss (I start each day at 7am) it usually takes 1hr per day, my boys have just started sleeping through again after 6 days. I also use an aromatherapy blend that my friend did for me. I can give you her number if you like. She lives in Fulham or can post, very reasonable (£8).

You should join in the west London thread, it moves alot quicker than this one

Good to hear from you quokka, how's it going in Singapore? hot or what? Can you CAT me your friends details re the aromatheraphy. I did a baby massage course before I left so should try it out.

Kaybee December will be here quickier than you think and your family will have 1 year of babysitting/pram pushing/adoring to make up for. You probably won't see ds for a couple of weeks!

Thanks for the details Quokka. Good luck with sorting out your living arrangements. I bet the boys love sleeping on the floor , just like camping!

We are getting back to normal London life, finally. Has taken a week for dd to sync back to GMT time. I'm am missing everyone already, but tis nice not living out of a suitcase and having our own space. Other things I miss - tim tams (ate about a dozen packets), chai lattes (discovered them in Sydney, a bit poncey I know but I don't drink coffee) proper fruit smoothies with milk and barbeque shapes. sighhhhhhh

Ooh, an Aussie thread! I'm an Australian national, born in Adelaide, but have lived here since I was five so culturally a Brit I suppose - can I still come on the thread?

Hello

I am an Aussie been here about 7 years. DS is six weeks old and we are going home for the winter(UK winter) can't wait for the warm sunshine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think we will eventually go back home after we have paid of the house a bit more and travellled around Europe more as well. To cold to stay here forever.

I spent lots of time in Australia and developed what amounted to a craving for orange twisty things ( that's terrible!) - Twisties.
Looked around for them in the UK - came across some Aussie shops but they had always run out of Twisties. Good thing - snack consumption went down.
Someone suggested I try this snack, dont know if I am allowed to mention the name , but here goes - called Tastees and they are almost exactly the same as Twisties.
Unfortunatly am now scoffing industrial quantities of them!
