Hi all

It’s Kerr here, I wanted to post a quick update as I’m conscious Pamela hasn’t been on for a few days and the thread seems to have reached its limit.

Pamela hasn’t been feeling so good over the last few days - on a positive note, her bloods seem to have stabilised and, all being well, she might be ok for chemo round 2 in the next couple of days. She had a blood transfusion yesterday which, we hope, will also boost her energy levels. On the downside, her jaundice has returned, the bilirubin levels are increasing significantly. The CT scan at the beginning of the week showed no new blockages and our Consultant thought that some early necrosis of the tumour after the last chemo might be contributing, but nobody really knows what’s causing it. Further discussion to take place tomorrow. Seeing the jaundice is one of the worst parts of this, it’s so clear and obvious when it’s happening yet there’s nothing we can do to alleviate it.

Just wanted to let you know the latest. Please, please keep praying for her - she’s my everything, my world, and every thought and prayer is deeply appreciated.

Kerr

I’m so sorry for your loss. I commented on the fake page this morning - I am gutted to hear it was fake. Pamela was an inspiration to many and all of these threads are testament to how loved she was. Thinking of you all x

dontsayltb · 03/08/2023 17:24

So sorry Kerr, and thank you for updating. Like many I was hoping for a miracle. I hope you and Jacob take some solace from the fact that so many people have been genuinely touched by Pamela, and her courage and kick ass attitude all the way through this.
Will still often think of you all, and may you find some comfort that a bunch of strangers hold you in their hearts x

Nottogetapenny · 03/08/2023 17:30

Dear Kerr, Jacob and all the people who knew and loved Pamela.
Thank you for today’s update! I am so sorry to hear that Pamela, has lost her courageous fight for life!
I like a lot of people on here were privileged to read her inspirational updates, her fight for life and her love for her family. May your many wonderful memories of Pamela last forever as no one can take them away.
I didn’t know her, but like a lot of others, on here I cared and wished that wishes and prayers for her were answered. 🌈🍀

In a very short time we got to see Pamela’s beautiful spirit, and the love you and your family shared. She touched many, and I am so sorry for your loss. The consideration she and you have shown is amazing and it seems a testament to her character. Wishing peace and comfort to you and your family.

I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing such a personal journey with us. If you are still reading this thread, I wanted to suggest - if you think it might be helpful or comforting later - that you find a way to preserve these threads, either printing them out or something. I don't know if MN delete threads after a period of time, but just in case, they might be something to look back on later. You are all in my prayers, Pamela too, may she RIP.

BackToSquareOneAgain · 03/08/2023 17:37

I’m so sorry for your loss Kerr. Although I didn’t know Pamela and had only read her recent posts on MN, she seemed like the most wonderful person. Thank you for updating us. Sending you love x

Hummingbird88 · 03/08/2023 17:38

Sending love and thinking of you all. Although we didn't know her, Pamela's kindness and goodness shone through in all her posts. A truly wonderful lady who will be remembered by all the genuine members of MN. Sending hugs and strength. Xxx

torthecatlady · 03/08/2023 17:42

I'm so sorry to hear about Pamela. She was a beautiful woman and her personality shone through in her posts. My condolences to you, your son and family at this time. Flowers

HippyChickMama · 03/08/2023 17:49

I'm so sorry for your loss, my thoughts are with you and all of Pamela's family and friends Flowers

BreadInCaptivity · 03/08/2023 17:53

I'm so sorry to read your update Kerr.

You and Jacob are in my thoughts.

I followed Pamela's posts from her first thread and what remained utterly constant was her love for her family, determination to stay with you as long as possible and the joy she got from things such a walk on the beach, that we are apt to take for granted.

I'm glad she found in these threads a small measure of comfort but I think she also gave back a lot, in making us all appreciate what we have and I for one will be forever thankful for that wake up call.

I didn't see the troll thread and I'm sorry this added to your pain. Please though take comfort that the vast majority of posters here feel a genuine sense of compassion towards you and your family and sought only to offer prayers, support and kindness Flowers

madeleine85 · 03/08/2023 17:54

I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. Pamela really sounded like a truly wonderful person, and her posts were so honest, really conveyed how much she loved your family, and showed how much she was ready and willing to fight. Honestly, just F* cancer for doing this to another person. I was so badly hoping for a positive outcome. I'm sending all the love to you, and your family.

girlswillbegirls · 03/08/2023 17:56

I am so sorry for your loss Kerr.
We have never met Pamela but she became someone very special for me as well as many many posters around here. I will still think of her. She said we need to pay attention to the beauty around us, I will never forget that. Very sorry. x

Boatshoes · 03/08/2023 18:01

ElEmEnOhPee · 03/08/2023 18:03

Simply heartbreaking, keeping Pamela and her lovely family in my thoughts

GiBlues · 03/08/2023 18:03

I’m so terribly sorry to hear of Pamela’s passing. I haven’t commented on previous threads but have been reading them and praying for her. I’ve thought of her often and had hoped she would make it through the treatment.
Please know that you are all in my thoughts and I hope all the wonderful memories you have together can bring some comfort to you all at this horrific time.

Salome61 · 03/08/2023 18:05

My deepest condolences to you and your family x

Mumtofourandnomore · 03/08/2023 18:16

I’m so very sorry for your loss, as others have said, Pamela wrote so brilliantly, she shared her journey and I was so touched by both her fragility, but also her strength. In my years on mumsnet, I have rarely seen somebody who was able to connect with this community in such a powerful way.

I am sure that her spirit will live on, but that is of little comfort to you all now. I hope in time, you will be able to hold happier times in your hearts.

Sending you all strength and love xx

Munchyseeds2 · 03/08/2023 18:17

So very sorry to hear this sad news. I was truly touched by Pamela's eloquence, bravery and honesty about what she was going through. I continue to pray for your family at this most difficult of times, and hope that you will all, in time, find comfort in the happy memories you have of such a very special person. x x
