Pamela thread 6 - Bile Duct Cancer, Continued

Hi all

It’s Kerr here, I wanted to post a quick update as I’m conscious Pamela hasn’t been on for a few days and the thread seems to have reached its limit.

Pamela hasn’t been feeling so good over the last few days - on a positive note, her bloods seem to have stabilised and, all being well, she might be ok for chemo round 2 in the next couple of days. She had a blood transfusion yesterday which, we hope, will also boost her energy levels. On the downside, her jaundice has returned, the bilirubin levels are increasing significantly. The CT scan at the beginning of the week showed no new blockages and our Consultant thought that some early necrosis of the tumour after the last chemo might be contributing, but nobody really knows what’s causing it. Further discussion to take place tomorrow. Seeing the jaundice is one of the worst parts of this, it’s so clear and obvious when it’s happening yet there’s nothing we can do to alleviate it.

Just wanted to let you know the latest. Please, please keep praying for her - she’s my everything, my world, and every thought and prayer is deeply appreciated.

Kerr

Such sad news 💔

anon2022anon · 03/08/2023 11:17

So sorry for your loss, to you, Jacob and Pamelas mum.

I'm sorry that someone has done that, and made you feel you needed to share the news even though you perhaps weren't ready yet. Try not to give them another thought, they don't matter anyway.

Wishing you all so much love.

lostinmaze · 03/08/2023 11:19

So sad to hear this, my heart goes out to you all

Spinninggyro · 03/08/2023 11:19

Pamela was a brave and inspiring woman. Amazing courage, she will not be forgotten

MrsPositivity1 · 03/08/2023 11:19

I’m so saddened that Pamela has passed away. Her words and strength were just something else. Kerr, you had a wonderful wife and Jacob a wonderful mother. Sending you all our love and support from another NI mum.

I just outraged that someone had the audacity to write that other post. It’s just mind boggling

rainbowstardrops · 03/08/2023 11:21

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear Pamela. I don't know her but she came across as such a wonderful, loving, brave woman. May she rest in peace and sending love and heartfelt wishes to you, Jacob and Pamela's family 🩷

Wrt the fake thread 7 - what on earth?!!! I saw it this morning and commented on it. WTF is wrong with some people? Please try not to let it get to you. Some people are just plain nasty.

Silkierabbit · 03/08/2023 11:21

I am so sorry for the loss of Pamela and sending love to you and Jacob.

deltablue · 03/08/2023 11:22

Oh Kerr, I'm so very sorry to hear this, it is heartbreaking and I'm sure I speak for all of us that you and Jacob and family are very much in our thoughts and our prayers as you face this new future together. Love and strength to you all. Chris

ChelseaGem · 03/08/2023 11:23

I’m so sorry. Pamela was an amazing woman. Much love to you all. 💐

DeeCee77 · 03/08/2023 11:23

Kerr, so sorry to you, Jacob and all the family for your loss. Pamela came across as a real vivacious character and we all warmed to her. When I'm watching Liverpool I will constantly think of her.

I didn't want to comment on the fake thread as it isn't in keeping with the warm, genuine spirit of Pamela and all the 99.9% of us who have been supporting her from afar, but unfortunately the world is not free of wicked individuals and the internet being so accessible lets that tiny monstrous minority slip through. Sorry you had to witness that Kerr, my only advice is to feel sorry for them as they will never know love.

RIP Pamela.

Lionoso · 03/08/2023 11:25

So sorry for your loss.

Iloveringos · 03/08/2023 11:25

Dear Kerr I am so very sorry for your loss, I followed Pamela's updates from the beginning and she came across as a beautiful soul and she was very lucky to have you by her side. RIP Pamela xxx

WilsonMilson · 03/08/2023 11:25

Your incredibly kind comments about Pamela are wonderful to read. Please know that the Pamela you got to know on Mumsnet was only a fraction of the most wonderful person she was. Despite the awfulness of the fake post, I also take comfort from the kindness that has been expressed.

This is our final post and there won’t be a Thread 7. Thank you once again.

Treasure every moment you have with loved ones - and always be kind.

So very saddened to hear the news of Pamela's passing, and shocked someone would pose as you, you didn't need this. Wishing you strength in this exceptionally difficult time. Pamela's love of you and Jacob shone through in her posts. Like so many others I have been thinking of her over the last number of days and am incredibly sorry that the miracle we all hoped for didn't happen.

Freezingtoes · 03/08/2023 11:30

wanteddeadoralive18 · 03/08/2023 11:31

I'm so so sorry you have had to do this because of the fake post, the levels some people will stoop are unbelievable. Sending much love and strength to you and your family x

nornironlady · 03/08/2023 11:32

I'm devastated to hear this sad news today Kerr. My thoughts are with your family at this sad time. Pamela touched many lives and I know I will always remember her bravery and spirit xxx

watermeloncougar · 03/08/2023 11:32

Without wishing to derail this final thread, I too am shocked at the utter awfulness of the fake thread. Given that this was written by someone fraudulently claiming to be someone else, writing fraudulently about a person's death and clearly with malicious intent, isn't there anything further that MNHQ can do? I'm no expert in legislation but this is serious shocking stuff.

ButtonMoonBlanketSky · 03/08/2023 11:32

I'm so sorry you've had to contend with a fake thread on top of everything else you're going through.

Pamela came across as a truly remarkable woman. You can be in no doubt how much she cherished you and Jacob and her family - it shone through in her posts.

Thinking of you. Xx

uncomfortablydumb53 · 03/08/2023 11:33

I have been following Pamela's fight right from the start, although I didn't post and I am so very sad to read this Kerr. Shocked too, that someone pretended to be you, at this terrible time. Good to see that the fake post has been deleted by Mumsnet.

Sending all my prayers and love to you, Jacob and all of Pamela's family and friends. Pamela sounded like such a lovely person and I can't begin to imagine the grief you are all going through.

Blossomtoes · 03/08/2023 11:36
