My son may be dying

Just that.

He has cancer, they have not been able to control it.

They have given him one last chemotherapy to see if it can turn a corner but his body may not be able to tolerate it and it may not work.

We have been told to prepare ourselves for him to deteriorate suddenly.

My husband can't be with us because my son also has Coronavirus so we are in isolation and he is with our other son.

What brilliant news to wake up to OP! I'm so pleased for your family. I hope the wonders of modern technology can help you both keep in touch with DH & DS2 via FaceTime or similar. This is such a great step forward. I hope the hospital transfer goes well 👍🏻

WitchDancer · 15/04/2020 10:28

Oh that is fantastic news!

I0NA · 15/04/2020 10:58

northender · 15/04/2020 18:17

Fantastic news!

cupofteaplease · 15/04/2020 18:24

Thinking of you and your lovely boy, as well as your dh and ds2- it’s so hard on all of you. I pray that the new treatment works quickly x

AmelieTaylor · 15/04/2020 18:47

👏🏻That's fabulous news!!! Not only that he's getting the treatment, but that he's doing so much better.

It's going to be a tough 5 weeks for all of you, but we'll be here for you to vent to & hold your hand.

I'm sure DH & DS2 will be a tight Duo for the duration. Is the new hospital farvfrom home? Are they allowed to drop things off for you?

aloneinthenight · 15/04/2020 21:32

Yes the hospital is 100 miles away so dropping things off not really an option!

We'll just have to take it a day at a time.

Another positive step forward. So pleased for you OP. Thanks

MrsCalypsoGrant · 16/04/2020 09:52

A day at a time is a great attitude OP. You sound like a lovely tight knit family. We'll be here over the 5 weeks for support if that would be useful 👍🏻

MrHaroldFry · 16/04/2020 18:16

Delighted to hear the new treatment got the go ahead OP. Make sure to get yourself some multi vitamins and VitD to pep you up when you start to wane if you are 'it' for five weeks.

Straysocks · 17/04/2020 08:21

Well that is good news. Big news. What a great chance - and what a logistical challenge! Is there anything you need us to search for? Online puzzles, podcasts, etc? We're here for all of it, good luck.

FiveFootTwoEyesOfBlue · 17/04/2020 17:03

Thinking of you, and hoping for the best.

Honesttodog · 19/04/2020 00:24

MrsCalypsoGrant · 20/04/2020 10:13

Thinking of you as we start the week x

Flossie44 · 22/04/2020 00:40

Thinking of you and hoping the new hospital and new treatment brings hope x

aloneinthenight · 22/04/2020 20:12

The new treatment starts tomorrow.

We've been told that it is risky and that DS may not be strong enough to withstand the severe side effects, given how poorly he's been.

But it's the only option we have.

We were given the option to "making him comfortable" which may give us a little more time but no hope of cure - or go for the treatment option.

We're not giving up on him just yet.

WitchDancer · 22/04/2020 20:18

It may be risky but it's a ray of hope. We're all behind you, holding your hand and praying for you all 🤝

EarringsandLipstick · 22/04/2020 20:20

alone just sending you love & hoping the treatment goes well for DS. You are being so strong. X

SquigglePigs · 22/04/2020 20:29

Good luck to your DS and good wishes to you and your family. I really hope it works for him and the side effects aren't too brutal. Hope you're doing OK there without the rest of your family.

Ranguski · 22/04/2020 20:31

I am so sorry, wish there was something I could do...sending you love and a virtual hand hold. Flowers
