My son may be dying

Just that.

He has cancer, they have not been able to control it.

They have given him one last chemotherapy to see if it can turn a corner but his body may not be able to tolerate it and it may not work.

We have been told to prepare ourselves for him to deteriorate suddenly.

My husband can't be with us because my son also has Coronavirus so we are in isolation and he is with our other son.

Fingers crossed for you and your family OP. Hope your DS can get this new treatment 🤞🏻

aloneinthenight · 15/04/2020 07:50

He can have the new treatment!

They are pleased with his condition compared to two weeks ago and numbers are looking better.

We are transferring to a different hospital tomorrow.

The slight challenge is that visiting rules are different and they are only allowing one named carer (no swapping over) so it will just be me and DS1 for 5 weeks!

I'm not sure how that's going to work.

But such a relief compared to where we were.

We are certainly not out of the woods yet, and there is no guarantee this treatment will work, but a chance is still a chance.

incognitomum · 15/04/2020 08:14

That's brilliant news. You're both in my thoughts every day 🙏

Can you do facetime on your phone or a tablet? Might be worth upping your data if you're going to be in one room a while.

LuluJakey1 · 15/04/2020 08:21

That's such good news. Wishing your son all the very best of luck with the new treatment x

Good luck OP. I used to work in oncology so I know what a long road it is, how desperate it can feel and how quickly things can change. Praying things go well for you.

Wannabangbang · 15/04/2020 09:11

That is such good news. It sounds like it will be very tough for all of you but there is hope for your boy.
