continuing on from the last thread which morphed from a discussion about antisemitism to tracking it globally.

I’ve probably missed people out

to start off with something positive - this was a few yeshiva students response to antisemitism ❤️🕎

“Three Jewish college students from NJ were dancing at Denver International Airport. They said they were motivated to do this after the mass shooting in Australia: “We will not be scared or give in to the darkness, we will only add more and more light.” Happy Hanukkah!”

they’re playing my favourite zusha chanuka song, and one of them looks like DHs nephew who lives in America! Had to do a double take and check it wasn’t him!😆

Janice Turner in her Times column has the measure of Zack Polanski.

Be afraid, be very afraid of disingenuous Zack Polanski

I don't have a Times subscription here's the archive version:

Excellent article, thank you.

OrangeAxolotyl · 03/05/2026 12:21

Excellent article. I'm glad there's a push back against the racism. It's difficult on some threads now, but decent people are challenging the ignorance and bigotry.

OrangeAxolotyl · 05/05/2026 06:33

The debate is heating up ahead of Thursday.

GentleSheep · 05/05/2026 13:02

This is pretty awful.

Police are investigating a pro-Palestinian group's social media post depicting Jewish actress Maureen Lipman with devil horns and a pitchfork.

Diamond82 · 05/05/2026 13:20

How disgusting. These ‘solidarity’ groups make me so angry.

So, they are showing solidarity with Palestinians by using an antisemitic trope against a Jewish actress?
I'm sure that the people of Gaza are appreciative of such support.

Back round to the states again - https://abc7ny.com/post/nypd-searching-suspects-string-antisemitic-graffiti-swastikas-found-queens/19037123/

I am never sure if it's worse to have this sort of thing happen in a large community or a tiny one. I feel super vulnerable as one of a handful of Jews where I live now, but I grew up in NY and didn't always feel safe being one of many.

Awful 😔

Just when you think things can't get worse.

Antisemitic violence will stop when people stop committing acts of antisemitic violence. Its not exactly complicated.

I've long since stopped seeing titles, accolades, etc. as any indication of an individual's intelligence or moral integrity. The man is an idiot. As well as a bigot.

On a positive note, I hadn't heard of Simone before so thank you for sharing, she has some interesting posts.

Jillybox · 07/05/2026 09:26

Hi all,

I'm not Jewish but want to say I'm deeply ashamed that antisemitism has been allowed to run rife in the UK.

Jewish people cause no bother to anybody, this behaviour is absolutely unhinged and I'm so sorry you're experiencing it.

You deserve so much better.

I was quite left-wing but have completely disassociated myself from the so-called anti-racist brigade as a result of this behavior.

I think so many people feel the same as I do, so I hope you all know that.💚

Two men have been convicted of an antisemitic hate crime after targeting a member of the Jewish community in Hackney.

Adam Bedoui, 20 (24.05.2005), of Park Lodge Avenue, Hillingdon, and Abdelkader Bousloub, 21 (26.02.2005), of Merrivale Mews, Hillingdon, travelled to a predominantly Jewish area to film antisemitic content for social media.

Both men pleaded guilty to a religiously aggravated public order offence today, Saturday, 9 May, at Thames Magistrates’ Court.

It's relentless

OrangeAxolotyl · 10/05/2026 20:12

Unfortunately, we now have elected councillors who openly condone this sort of behaviour.

The local elections have shown sectarianism, it's alarming.

Must be bad if even suspended by the Green Party! I forgot about all those unhinged posts by his wife Nadia Sawalha. What a pair.

I can’t believe this guy was actually elected.

That's the most alarming part. These people have been exposed, yet still get electoral support.

Diamond82 · 15/05/2026 00:10

Is anyone else getting fatigued from all of the Israel Eurovision conversation in the media?
Lots of talk about what you can do if you have a large diaspora and clearly fix results. How many Jews do they think there is! I hate to say it but I’m almost glad we won’t have this in the World Cup.
On the plus side I do think Noam Bettan is excellent, such a great voice. I hope he does well. And there does seem to be more discourse actually judging the song rather than the country.

ErroltheSwampDragon · 15/05/2026 12:38

Just fatigued in general. There are still so many people (though its starting to feel like its not the majority) that happily spread hate (the rape denial on the recent feminist board thread should have had people banned from the site).

Mumsnet clearly has no interest in addressing the issues, in fact sometimes, seems quite happy to support ongoing hatred towards Jews, especially with the way it handles the CITME board. Feels like its just another place happy to throw us under the bus.
