IVF - July Transfers

Hello,

I started a previous thread for May transfers, but unfortunately, mine was unsuccessful. This was my first transfer, fully medicated (lupron suppression, estorgen priming, progesterone, antibiotics, blood thinners, aspirin, prograf, and prednol), and with a euploid embryo so completely gutted. Anyone else gearing up for a transfer in July? How are we feeling?

Congratulations @TheBreezyKoala!! and @ASGIRC that sounds so tough especially with clinic not being very supportive. Hope you have some good news at the next test!

I tested this morning and unfortunately was negative, which truly sucks. I’ll test again on Thursday but fairly certain it’s not our time this round. Going to give ourselves time and we’ll pick ourselves up to go again.

sorry to hear this, Thursday may look different if too early? sending you good thoughts and vibes xx

ASGIRC · 11/08/2026 13:55

@Bp1511 I'm so sorry
How many days post transfer are you? Could it still be a bit early?

And thank you for your kind words! We'll see what happens tomorrow.

@BluntBlueOP CONGRATULATIONS!!! That looks very promising!!!

Thanks! I don't want to be too optimistic, as this could all crumble soon (but then again, earlyy pregnancy is the same for everyone, just one big ball of doubt! And to think that if my first beta has been just a few numbers higher, they wouldn't have asked me to test again, and I'd just be waiting for the scan!!!!)
But it would be great if this turned out to be a viable pregnancy, obviously! We shall see!

I've switched to NA beer for the time being, just in case! 😂😂

It is such a big ball of doubt , I agree. But your numbers speaks for themselves, fingers crossed for you on your viability scan. 🤞🏻✨

my spotting seems to have stopped now I’ve switched to rectal which feels reassuring. But I guess OTD will tell tomorrow ☺️xx

Cornish13 · 12/08/2026 09:38

OTD ✨✨ I still can’t believe it!! Beta has been booked for tomorrow and Saturday. 7 week scan has been booked for the end of the month 🥹 fingers crossed this is it x

@Cornish13 that's a veryvstring positive!!! I'm sure the betas will look amazing as well!!!

@OverTired26 thinking of you today and hoping you have good news!!!

@BluntBlueOP hope OTD goes well!!!!

I'm a massive massive ball of anxiety. Dreamt I was losing blood, and that Monday's beta was just a fluke (and it might have been!). I've repeated it today, and trying to take ny mind off of it, and enjoy the day, but there's this hole in my stomach!

In any case, I hope today gives me an answer of some kind! Either a very slow beta, or a very fast one 😂

I'll admit I've let myself dream a bit, that this may work, which is probably not wise 😅
But if it doesn't work, i just want it to resolve quickly, so that I can do another FET!!

OverTired26 · 12/08/2026 12:03

Oh Cornish that is BEAUTIFUL! Congratulations! I am so delighted for you.

@ASGIRC- gosh, what an absolute whirlwind for you. I'm so sorry it's been so fraught and I desperately hope for good news for you.

My scan this morning was perfect, little frog measured perfectly at 7 weeks 4 days and the heartbeat was strong. Beyond thrilled.

ASGIRC · 12/08/2026 12:11

@OverTired26 OMG how amazing!!!! Congratulations!! I'm so happy for you!!!

And thank you! I just want clear answers! I hate this limbo... Fortunately, the NA beer has been plentiful, but if this isn't gonna work, then I'd like some wine, please and thank you! 😂😂
But I think today, it will either have risen appropriately, which means it might still have a chance, or it won't, and then, even without a period, I can put it to rest.

@CaribbeanCupcake CONGRATS!!!

So, my news!

Beta more than doubled (nearly tripled), from 987 to 2751. Managed to get a scan at the local hospital (my doctor, very helpful, said she'd scan me if I went to Lisbon tomorrow, only a 6h round trip 😒😒😒 I don't think so.)
There's a sac, but nothing else just yet. Doctor there told me to go back over the weekend to check progress.

And to go back on progesterone, which I need my doctor to prescribe, cause I have none with me, and no active prescription...

CaribbeanCupcake · 13/08/2026 08:21

Oh @ASGIRCthis must be beyond frustrating for you. I guess it is so early on it's just really hard for them to see much on the scan. Will you manage to get the progesterone where you are?

ASGIRC · 13/08/2026 08:38

@CaribbeanCupcake I think I'm probably about a day or so behind... Obviously, seeing a yolk sac yesterday would have been good, but we'll know more in a few days...

My doctor is already talking about a D&C, so that tells you where this is going...
I could get progesterone, with a prescription. My doctor won't send me one, considering she doesn't think it's viable.
I'm unsure whether to wait to see what happens in a couple of days before going on it again. I'm sure that's not what's gonna make this viable or not.

OverTired26 · 13/08/2026 22:28

Thank you @CaribbeanCupcake- What a beautiful test too! So thrilled for you. I am beyond relieved after the scan. My last scan was almost exactly 3 years ago, with the same lady in the same room.. except I got bad news. So it all felt a little fated in the wrong way!

Oh @ASGIRCI am so sorry this has been so hard and so up and down. It's a shame she won't send the progesterone. In your cycle is it modified? Are you producing any of your own progesterone? It won't make it viable sadly, but if something is growing, then it'll need progesterone to stay that way.

ASGIRC · 13/08/2026 22:51

@OverTired26 my cycle was natural, with no meds, apart from the trigger, so I should be producing enough progesterone on my own.

I'm not overly worried about that!!

The worst part isn't even whether this is a viable pregnancy or not... It's the piss poor behaviour of my doctor. Like... Every word out of her mouth is awful. And I don't need hand holding. But dude! After a very initial sluggish rise (and it was only the 1st one the was really bad, the second was within the 72h doubling range), the numbers shot up! Surely that warrants, at the very least, some cautious optimism? Definitely not "if you have no pain, wait until you come back from your holiday to deal with it. The clinic won't be able to do a D&C"

I've decided, whatever the outcome, I won't go back to this doctor. And if this turns out to be viable, I'm gonna make an official complaint for negligence.

OverTired26 · 14/08/2026 10:14

@ASGIRC- I absolutely agree, this is shocking behaviour from the doctor who really should know how to speak to patients going through these things!! I'm sorry they've been so bloody terrible. I have everything crossed that you're writing that complaint with a big old belly soon!

As you say, it was 1 outlier with the bloods, everything else has been spot on.

ASGIRC · 14/08/2026 10:19

@OverTired26 thanks!! Next hurdle will be this weekend, seeing if a yolk sac and a fetal pole have appeared (maybe even a HB?)
But even if those things happen, there's still a chance it stops developing before the end of the 1st trimester, so I'll be worried until then 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️😂😂

But I hope I'm worried until April!

Cornish13 · 14/08/2026 21:33

I’ve gone down the beta route I think to try and reassure myself however I think it’s causing more anxiety 😂 had my first beta yesterday, 15dpt, second is tomorrow, 17dpt. My result for yesterday was 2368 and now I’m terrified for the beta and result tomorrow! My first scan isn’t until the 28th August when I’ll be exactly 7 weeks, I’m currently exactly 5 weeks. Somehow I still don’t believe any of it is true and I’m waiting for the rug to be pulled from beneath me 🫠 x

OverTired26 · 16/08/2026 10:15

How you doing @Cornish13? I totally understand the feeling. Even the 7 week scan only reassured me for a few seconds. Booking a 10 week one now 😂

How's it going @ASGIRC- I desperately hope you're worried until April too!

ASGIRC · 16/08/2026 12:47

@Cornish13 just as an absolute value, that's a great beta for 15dpt! Mine at 16dpt was 987 and today, at 5 weeks 6 days, I saw a HEARTBEAT!!!!!

@OverTired26 Well, today we saw a little baby, measuring 5 + 6, and with heartbeats!! Very difficult to hear, because it was so tiny, but definitely there!!!

I'm still guarding my heart, as I've read about similar situations where the heart stopped before the end of the 1st trimester, but I'm definitely pregnant!!!
I'm glad I didn't follow my doctor's advice and not gotten the betas when I did.
I'm firing my doctor as well, but have already emailed the clinic to ask for a follow-up scan, with a different doctor.

OverTired26 · 16/08/2026 15:43

Oh my goodness @ASGIRCthat's amazing news?! Especially as baby isn't quite 6+ weeks yet when a heartbeat is more typical. I'm so thrilled for you and too bloody right that doctor deserves firing!

How far along are you supposed to be?

ASGIRC · 16/08/2026 15:48

@OverTired26 5 week and 6 days exactly, so the baby is measuring bang on time!!!
Was told to go back on progesterone (but a lot less than I was before 😂 from 400mg 3x a day to 200mg 2x a day 😂) and to book pre natal care (whixh was booked ages ago, obvs, as my OB is quite busy, but have a 1st appt at 9 weeks. Hopefully the baby will still be getting bigger by then!)

I texted my doctor a photo of the scan, saying there's an embryo, measuring on time, with a heartbeat, and that while I've requested follow up care from the clinic, it won't be with her, considering she was only worried about where I'd do a D&C!

OverTired26 · 16/08/2026 17:08

@ASGIRC- That really is incredibly news. So the only little thing that spiked a concern was the second beta. Which you only had because your first one was just a couple points under the cut off.
I cannot believe she was so adamant about a D&C and no viability when you're measuring perfectly with a healthy baby!
So so pleased for you.
I'm on 3 x 400mg cyclogest, but I was fully medicated. Makes sense for you to be on less!

ASGIRC · 16/08/2026 17:14

@OverTired26 if I hadn't done a natural cycle I'd have lost the pregnancy already, having stopped progesterone a week ago!!!
Which makes me even more sure that I need ti file complaints with everyone possible, over this massive negligence. Not to mention the alcohol I might have cinsumed, had I followed theie advice!

There is LITERATURE on viable pregnancies with live births following slow rising betas! READ UP ON IT, IT'S YOUR JOB! And the studies do say to caution the patient that it's rare, but it does happen!!

And yes, exactly. 2nd beta was only a 40% rise, and first was only 3 points under their threshold. 3rd beta was already a 70% rise.

OverTired26 · 16/08/2026 17:18

@ASGIRC- honestly the treatment you've had is really worrying. Glad you're putting the complaints in. That's the scary part, if I stopped progesterone that'd just be it. When I had my missed miscarriage they told me to stay on all drugs until two scans confirmed it, a week apart.

OverTired26 · 16/08/2026 17:52

There is a looovely due in April group you may like.. it has a WhatsApp group too.
