Hey all. Thread for those who will be on the journey early 2026.

I'm Scotland based and due to start my 3rd IVF cycle on the 3rd Jan (long protocol).

These threads can really help with support and just knowing someone else is going through it at the same time.

Good luck everyone.

Hi there!

I should be starting early February, short protocol, first cycle (with PGT).

Hey @Moosey898 , I'm doing PGT this round too. The previous two cycles I did fresh transfers, so there was always a chance when starting them that good things could happen imminently - it wasn't to be. With PGT it's a different kinda good, as although it makes the timeline a bit longer, I feel like it will give a little more insight on the next stage of the journey.

Sending you all the luck.

Hello, checking in!

I'm going to be doing Kind IVF which is basically quite mild IVF (low doses) starting around 9th January. I've heard mixed reviews but it is much cheaper than standard cycles so thought it was worth a shot!

I am 35 and been trying 19 months with just one chemical in that time (in November). I've also lost 4 stone this year to try to help my body be in the best position positive and to be eligible for NHS fertility help (but now going private anyway as just don't feel I have time to wait...)

Thank you - have you had any genetic testing done to lead to PGT or is it more of a cover all?

I'm just hoping for a chance to get a single euploid embryo as I know it's far from guaranteed... But you never know, and it's our best chance to not have another miscarriage.

Well done on the weight loss! I've lost just shy of 2 stone in preparation for IVF too. Hopefully it helps. I don't know anything about Kind IVF, hope it works for you though. How are you feeling about it?

We have not had genetic testing, my two previous rounds were both short protocol, both last year just before I turned 40. First one ended in miscarriage (from only one viable 5 day embryo), second ended in eptopic/miscarriage (from two viable 5 day embryos). Changing to PGT and changing protocol seemed like the logical next step to try to avoid some heartbreak and to see if it had different outcomes. Coming out the other side with one euploid would make it all worth it, but like you I'm very aware there are no guarantees, so I have everything crossed. To keep me sane, I'm thinking/planning as though I will go straight into another cycle after this one, regardless of the outcome, which seems to be helping me stay calm. I hope it lasts.
Hope you have some nice (relaxing) plans over the festive period.

Thank you - well done on your weight loss as well!

It's basically just normal IVF but with a standard/fairly low medication dose and you have to meet strict criteria for BMI, age and AMH. I'm cautiously optimistic but also don't want to get too hopeful to be knocked down.

The chemical in November was so upsetting - I really thought I was going to be one of those "well I was about to start IVF and then...." stories you hear. Alas not to be.
My best friend has also just announced her second pregnancy and is due 3 weeks before I would have been.

How are you feeling about it all?

Yeah that makes sense - really hope it works for you. I had a similar feeling last month (our last month trying naturally), was really hopeful that we would be one of those stories but sadly not.

My sister in law is pregnant, due in March which is a couple of months after we were due with the little girl we lost at the start of September at 22 weeks. It's so hard having similar timings to people close to you.

We have a bit of a complicated back story - 4 miscarriages followed by losing our little girl (they had to induce her to save me as I had a bad infection in the sac and waters). I also have chromosome translocations so our miscarriage risk is really high. Hence having IVF with PGT to see if we can get a genetically normal embryo. The hardest part of losing our little girl was she was genetically normal so it was extra cruel that we had to say goodbye.

So I'm similar in how I'm feeling - cautiously hopeful but trying not to put too much weight on it so it doesn't hurt as much if it doesn't work.

Hello. I will be starting first round of IVF with ICSI. Unexplained secondary infertility. No issues conceiving daughter but have now been trying for baby two for 5 years, without a single pregnancy.
Really nervous as to what to expect emotionally as this is literally our final shot at a sibling for our daughter. Trying to remain positive and just keeping everything crossed.

Good luck to all :)

I'm so sorry to hear about your little girl. That must be unbelievably hard.

PGT testing will hopefully give you some confidence going forward.

I think it's something we would look at if we are unsuccessful in maybe 2 transfers.
I've somehow got it into my head that my body is hostile to embryos but I have literally 0 proof of that. Infertility really messes with your head I find!

I'm glad of christmas to keep busy for the next few weeks.

Hey @nej1987. It's a very nerve-wracking time. The first cycle I went through was with someone of a similar story to yours - unexplained fertility for 5 years. A round of IVF was the breakthrough she needed, so I hope you have a similar journey.

For me emotionally it can be a rollercoaster. It's already and emotional topic, but then add in hormones, and it results in very big feelings. Make sure you look after yourself. One idea someone recommended to me was stocking up on hobby supplies and treats before the cycle starts. That way in the event of a bad day, there are options to occupy your brain to try to distract from overthinking.

I think going into it with awareness that there might be good and bad days also makes a huge difference.

Sending you positive vibes. Around when do you think you will start?

Hey @camelinastorm
Sorry to hear about your miscarriages, the journey can be heartbreaking. The highs and lows are so emotionally taxing. Hoping that we can head into 2026 as a 'new chapter' in our stories.

Having been reading these threads for a while, I'm a firm believer the best embryo is quite often the last (grading regardless) so sending you all the luck for this FET. How are you feeling about it?

Hello,
I’m starting first round of long protocol in January. Very nervous. Was meant to start last summer but delayed by surgery. NHS, London.
Sorry to hear of previous losses. Wishing everyone luck this time.

PlanBFertility · 28/12/2025 10:02

Hi all 👋
Me - 37, low AMH. OH - 39, severe low sperm count.

1st cycle - 4 eggs, total failed fertilisation
2nd cycle - 7 eggs, total failed fertilisation
At this stage we were told we’d never be parents without own eggs and sperm. Went to new clinic.

3rd cycle - 7 eggs, 4 fertilised, 3 day 5 embryos:
Embryo 1 (4AB) - first ever positive but ended in a missed miscarriage
Embryo 2 (4BB) - BFN

About to go with embryo 3 (4AC) in mid-January.

Everything crossed as not sure if physically, mentally or financially can do this anymore.

Sending all the baby dust x

Well it is finally our month... Happy New Year everyone - here is to hopefully healthy 2026 pregnancies for all of us ❤️

Currently 7DPO and still holding out the tiniest hope I might have a last minute miracle but otherwise set to start with my cycle next week. Meds ready in the fridge!

I'll have everything crossed for you for both scenarios!

We have our nurse planning appointment on the 8th. I'm CD26 now so should be ready to start stims end of Jan/early Feb depending on exact cycle timings.

@camelinastorm@PlanBFertility I think I remember you guys from a previous thread - so sorry to hear of your losses, my transfer last year ended in a missed miscarriage too 💔 We have one embryo frozen which we’ll be transferring in the last week of Jan 🤞🏼 if this doesn’t work then will be trying another round hopefully with the NHS (and hopefully soon) as I’ve lost some weight and should meet the criteria now. Good luck everyone 🤞🏼♥️

camelinastorm · 13/01/2026 20:58

@GamerGirl09 yes recognise your name also, it’s the girls club no one wants to be in but at least we all have this support
sorry to hear about your missed miscarriage the last week of Jan will come round so fast !!!

Sandra00 · 16/01/2026 19:05

Hello ladies
i I was wondering if I could seek your advice please.
age 40, amh 4.8
I have 10 frozen eggs from age 37
I was planning to do another cycle (one more after a failed nhs round a few months ago)
My plan is to dethaw the eggs I have and do another round to create as many embryos as possible.
But at my baseline scan the doctor only saw four follicles and I’m aware they may not all grow and have mature eggs. What confuses me is last month I had 8 follicles. He said it can vary month to month.. Do I wait another cycle to see if have more then or crack on and hope for the best? What would you do?
I’n concerned about spending a lot of money if I won’t get good results this month as not sure I can afford another round but also aware my follicle count could be the same or less next month!
is only 4 follicles normal with my amh? I find this all so confusing!
would be great to hear your thoughts.
Thanks xx

How is everyone getting on?

I am on day 9 of stims - scan on Friday showed disappointing growth but today's a bit more promising, follicles seem to be picking up. Have been told to keep stimming for 2 more days and another monitoring scan on Wednesday with view to egg collection Friday 🤞

Some twinges and slight ovulation like pain and also my belly is quite itchy (??) but otherwise nothing to write home about atm.

FairislePatterned · 19/01/2026 18:21

Hello,
I’m on day 8 of down reg, for my first round.
I’ve been sleeping terribly since starting the injections amongst other delightful side effects.

Good luck for your scan and egg collection @Lovelesslily

Hey @Lovelesslily. I'm on day 8 of stims, but my first scan isn't until tomorrow morning (Weds). Super grateful for a busy day at work today to take my mind off it, however as a medication side effect I am struggling with regulating my inability not to cry (which is both highly amusing and mortifying).
It's wild. I've been up 20 minutes and so far discovered that the kettle taking a while to boil is enough to tip me over the edge 😂

Hope everyone else is doing okay.

How did your scan go?

I had to be scanned twice and have been pronounced as having "difficult ovaries" 😅🤦‍♀️ They are basically quite hard to see and they have to press quite hard to visualise them so there is some uncertainty how many follicles I have but somewhere in the vicinity of 6-12. They've put a note on the system for the egg retrieval doctor that they will need to root around a lot for them and warned me I will likely wake up feeling "quite bruised" 😬

Can live with that as long as they get some eggs!

Took my trigger at midnight last night and retrieval scheduled 12pm tomorrow. Very nervous as never had any kind of sedation or anaesthetic before.

Also I'm the idiot who did a pregnancy test this morning specifically to check it was positive so I'd know the trigger worked and was in my system... then cried because it was positive but "not really" 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Safe to say hormones affecting me as well!

So Grateful to see this thread…started stims today 😬
