December 2025 FET

Is anyone going to have a FET in December?

I was expecting to have one in January but when I went to the clinic yesterday they are going to try and squeeze a natural FET cycle in before the Christmas break!

I am 36, had my first egg collection last month but wasn't suitable for a fresh transfer. If my cycle plays ball my transfer will be 15th-17th December.

Hopeful for a lovely Christmas present but also being realistic given age and first transfer etc.

Hello everyone, I hope you don’t mind me joining this thread. Amazing news for those that have positives and wishing everyone so much luck for those waiting for their transfers or test dates.

I’m hoping to go for my day 5 transfer tomorrow, or more I am hoping that I have something to transfer! This is our 4th round of IVF - although my first round. My parter (same sex) tried 3 times but has a low AMH. Round 1 and 2 we had 2 eggs but only 1 fertilise and day 3 transfers which resulted in a chemical and a BFN, round 3 we had 6 fertilise and a double transfer on day 5 but none viable for freezing which also ended in a BFN. We paid for 2 more rounds but for myself to try.

My journey has been strange so far. 27 mixed sized follicules on my final scan, 9 eggs collected, 5 were not mature but the other 4 fertilised so we were told to wait until day 5 in the hope we have some blastocysts. It’s been a horrible wait so far, but here is hoping when they check tomorrow 1 will be doing well and can be transferred otherwise it’s back to the drawing board again.

good luck @CollsR for your transfer tomorrow!

Welcome @wishinghard2 and really hope you’ll have some good news tomorrow!

Poppy9991 · 14/12/2025 21:10

Just wanted to share here for those like me who will never get satisfied after one test (if it is positive) and will want to continue testing for no apparent reason or do blood tests. I found an online website that selles blood test kits (finger pricks) and they are way cheaper than others like around 20quid so it’s an option for those interested. I know we’re not there yet most of us but thought I’d share anyway cause I remember last pregnancy just spending loads on private blood tests which was mental… (but gave me the peace of mind that everything was progressing as it should. I really needed that after my multiple losses). It’s the london health company website and their kits are also available on amazon.

Good luck tomorrow both @CollsR & @whysohardtogetusername !! 🤞🏼❤️

Also, welcome @wishinghard2 & everything crossed for some good news for you tomorrow too x

BlueSkyWinterSun · 14/12/2025 21:38

Wishing you the best of luck for tomorrow @wishinghard2 ❤️

AnxiousHopeful · 14/12/2025 21:38

Hey all,

Hope you don't mind me joining albeit I'm not sure how often I'll post

Wife had her transfer on the 11th and then unfortunately managed to get food poisoning on the 13th (yesterday)

All of our plans of keeping busy and being distracted are completely out of the window and now I'm just worried the embryo won't take. Google and AI agents seem undecided on if the inflammation etc could affect implantation

Might vent here and follow along here and hope to keep my wife blissfully unaware as she recovers. She's spent the day watching comedies while I've spend the day frantically worried haha. I'm glad she's not really had time to think about it.

Wishing you all the very best of luck and it's nice to find somewhere I can talk

Bees28 · 15/12/2025 00:33

I’m transferring on the 16th after my first transfer failed to implant last month unfortunately.
Anyone using Lovenox in their protocol?

CoolSummer89 · 15/12/2025 07:22

Hi @wishinghard2 sorry for the rocky ride so far. The wait for day 5 results is always so torturous!

Welcome @AnxiousHopeful i’m so sorry that is really bad timing. It’s probably not the ideal conditions but it’s happened now so sounds like your wife is doing the best thing by resting up and laughing to relax herself!

And welcome @Bees28 i am also transferring on Tuesday but this will be my first one. I’m not sure what Lovenox is I’m afraid, have you had a medicated transfer?

best of luck @CollsR for transfer today and @whysohardtogetusername for testing ❤️

Good luck @whysohardtogetusername for testing today! And @CollsR for transfer today. Sending good vibes your way!

I’ll be testing on Weds in the end.

whysohardtogetusername · 15/12/2025 07:38

Hi @wishinghard2 that sounds like a painful journey so far, the waiting is awful. I really hope you get some good news on those blastocysts 💚

@AnxiousHopeful the amount of stories I've heard where people got incredibly ill just after transfer and it still worked! I can imagine that's been a horrible experience for your wife. Definitely a good idea to vent here with some people who get it 😊.

@Bees28 no Lovenox for me. That's for blood clotting, right? Do you have to do injections?

@CollsR good luck for today 💓

whysohardtogetusername · 15/12/2025 07:47

So... I did my test and it is positive 😮. I did wake up my partner at 6.30am because I was awake and couldn't wait any longer.

I'm actually kind of in shock and I know we're not out of the woods yet, with the first 12 weeks still to go. I've never seen a positive pregnancy test in my life so it's incredibly weird. We spent so much money on tests bc I'm paranoid so we've got 25 or something insane, I'll probably test every few days to make sure now.

My sweet dog got up with us and was so excited because she loves to get up early and isn't usually allowed, was very confused. One of the reasons I thought I wasn't pregnant is her behaviour hasn't changed at all, she's been merrily stabbing me in the stomach with her little paws and climbing all over me (she's a very cuddly little mongrel), but apparently that means nothing 😅.

AnonTTC · 15/12/2025 08:00

Omg amazing news @whysohardtogetusername !! Congratulations ❤️

Can totally imagine seeing a positive test is surreal after so long, my brain wouldn’t even be able to compute it 🤣

So glad you and your partner are happy x

Aw this is fantastic news to read this morning 🥰 Congratulations 🥳. Definitely worth the early wake up call!!

What's your next steps with the hospital? A viability scan in a few weeks?

Poppy9991 · 15/12/2025 08:51

congrats @whysohardtogetusername amazing news!!!!! So glad for you and another positive on this thread!!

CoolSummer89 · 15/12/2025 09:30

Congratulations @whysohardtogetusername, thats such great news! Thats so sweet you got to have a morning and your pup was also excited!

wishinghard2 · 15/12/2025 11:24

Well our drama has got more dramatic, if that was even possible and I would love to know if anyone has experienced this or similar.

we were all set to leave for transfer when the consultant called. We thought the worst, no blasts but that wasn’t the reason for the call. She rang to say that they just found out a baby has been born with a serious abnormality who has used the same donor sperm as ourselves and so they can’t proceed with treatment until the donor is re called and more tests are completed.l they simply will not do a transfer.

I have no idea how to feel to be honest. We have been using the same donor for the last two years all through my partner treatment. They said I have two blasts currently but unsure if strong enough to freeze so I’ll get a call later.

I have no idea what any of this means for our cycle. We paid for 2 rounds this time but I have so many questions - of course none of which I thought if while on the phone

Klmno · 15/12/2025 11:26

@whysohardtogetusername amazing!! Huge congratulations 🥳 What a wonderful Christmas present!!

@wishinghard2 oh my goodness that sounds like quite the journey and that must be really hard to process today. I am so sorry. I have no advice as know nothing about donors but hope you get some answers soon xx

BlueSkyWinterSun · 15/12/2025 11:51

@wishinghard2 oh my goodness your brain must be totally fried. I'm not surprised you couldn't think of any questions on the phone, that's a lot of information to process & imagine super unusual considering all the tests they must carry out on the sperm & donor and the cause might have absolutely nothing to do with the sperm.

I'm self funded and remember reading that if we didn't have an embryo to transfer, they would give us a refund for that process so hopefully if they they do cancel your transfer and you need to do another cycle, they would class it as one of the cycles you've already paid for. Did they give you en email address you can contact them on?

whysohardtogetusername · 15/12/2025 13:09

@wishinghard2 I'm so sorry, that's absolutely brutal to come out of nowhere. I don't have any useful experience but I did see something similar on one of the reddit IVF threads so I wonder if worth asking there too (you may have done already)? This actually wasn't the one I was thinking of but the only one I could find, wonder if this person could help: https://www.reddit.com/r/IVF/comments/1mw1dml/donor_blocked_im_not_allowed_to_use_my_embryos_now/

I hope for your sake that it was something entirely random and you can still use the donor if you get blastocysts. I would definitely push your clinic on if a refund is possible as you didn't go through with any transfer, as @BlueSkyWinterSun said above. Just mostly thinking of you and how incredibly stressful this must be.

whysohardtogetusername · 15/12/2025 13:14

@AnonTTC @AnxiousHopeful @Klmno Thank you!! 💗. We've booked our first scan for 5th Jan with our IVF clinic. I'm thinking I will just enjoy Christmas and try and chill, god knows how!!

@Poppy9991 So exciting there are a few of us now!! 🎉

Bees28 · 15/12/2025 13:44

@CoolSummer89no, so my first transfer was mostly natural aside from progesterone suppositories, antibiotics, and aspirin.
Although I have not been diagnosed with any immune issues and all test are normal we’ve decided to try a protocol for immune, so it’s Pepcid, Claritin, aspirin, medrol, doxycycline, and Lovenox this time with “embryo glue” which is supposed to help with implantation by 10%! Fingers crossed!
Nice to have a transfer buddy! Are you doing a medicated?

Bees28 · 15/12/2025 13:46

@whysohardtogetusername
Yes, it’s an injection that’s part of an immune protocol that apparently helps for some. I’ve never been diagnosed with any clotting disorders or immune issues though.

Blueskycat · 15/12/2025 13:55

Wowee congratulations @whysohardtogetusername, amazing news! I’ve also never seen a positive test so these stories are such a boost. So pleased for you 🤩

@wishinghard2 that sounds like an unbelievably complex situation, I’m so sorry to hear about it, and really hope you get more information and a positive update soon.
