Hi - I couldn’t find a thread but just wondered if anyone else was expecting in 2026 post ivf? I’m due end of Feb so just wanting any similar ladies to chat with!

Is anyone else finding they still feel quite crap in 2nd trimester? I had a couple of weeks of more energy and not feeling rough anymore, and now having (occasional but not great) nausea again and really tired! I'm 17+1. Waiting for this fabled 'glow' haha

confused2025 · 08/09/2025 08:12

@Orangewillowyes, we have the same due date and I’ve negativd glow if this makes you feel better. I was thinking maybe I’ll having a girl because of this but your wonderful news yesterday I might be wrong. On occasion there is still some nausea (normally triggered by a particular smell) and all I want to do is eat ice cream and McDonald’s (I’m not but really want too). You’re not alone x

Orangewillow · 08/09/2025 08:16

@confused2025 sorry to hear you're not feeling great, but I guess nice I'm not alone?! Yeah my friend guessed I'd be having a girl because I felt like I had a cheap white wine hangover from week 6-12, but no! My first pregnancy which ended in tfmr at 14 weeks was also a boy and I felt rough that entire pregnancy, probably worse than this one, although I think now I know what to expect and have felt fairly crap for most of a year due to Ivf and am just used to feeling shitty. Yay. I've finished on my prednisolone now so I'm hoping I might be slightly less ravenous at all times, but cake/bread is still very much my solution to nausea. Not excited for my next weigh in at the midwives

confused2025 · 08/09/2025 08:21

@Orangewillow but we’re going through a lot of change. I am just feeling uncomfortable mostly - have caved and bought some maternity clothes and I’m a little tired as I wake up a couple of times during the night so yeah it does feel like a cheap white wine hangover 😂 apart from that I’m ok but I am not glamorous. Also trying to pack from holidays next week and bought some maternity swimwear and it’s hideous lol. I won’t complain though once baby is ok and I guess it will be Feb before we know it ❤️

Orangewillow · 08/09/2025 08:29

So much change! I also got some maternity clothes as I'm down to 1 pair of normal trousers that fit me, but feeling a bit reluctant to wear it, partly as it's been warm and I find the stretchy bands on maternity jeans so hot! But also I think maternity wear makes me look like an egg, as not got a real bump yet, just a bit rounder. My usual wardrobe is quite fitted at the waist so is not good for pregnancy ha. But you're right, will probably be Feb before we know it and in the meantime, growing is good!

confused2025 · 08/09/2025 08:52

I bought some maternity bras and it has been a game changer - I bought next own brand ones (don’t recommend) but the Jojo Maman Bebe ones that are so comfy and got some beyond nine dungarees that are so comfy + some gym leggings for pregnancy Pilates. I haven’t gone too mad but will need other stuff but will wait for the more AW stuff to come in. Eggs are in fashion so you’re all good. I also look like an 🥚.

SamVan · 08/09/2025 13:13

@Orangewillow My usual wardrobe is all fitted at the waist too so I'm really struggling with finding anything which fits - mind you i think i stop fitting into it during IVF due to the bloating. I'm going for empire line summer dresses atm since it's still relatively warm.

Btw, did anyone's clinic give them any guidance on sex in the first trimester? I'm so stressed because I had an orgasm yesterday (sorry TMI). I booked a scan for tonight to have another check of the baby (only 4 days since my last...) but I feel so worried that I should have at least waited until we were past the first trimester. I'm 8 weeks atm.

lemons44 · 08/09/2025 15:45

I’m 12 weeks now and struggling to differentiate between my IVF bloat and maybe the start of a bump? I have noticed I have a bloated tummy but also the low down part of my abdomen (behind my kickers essentially) has been swollen for about 2 weeks now.

@SamVan I can’t be much help I am afraid as I have avoided sex the whole pregnancy so far 🤣 🚫 I’m very anxious about it!

lemons44 · 08/09/2025 15:47

@SamVan I just checked my IVF guidance and it does say sex is safe! I am sure it will be fine xx

Timetotryagain · 08/09/2025 16:55

@SamVan i am the same with being anxious about "O" specifically but i am sure its absolutely fine! I havent had sex either @lemon44 🙈🙈🙈🙈

@confused2025 sorry you are still having rough days. It sucks! I had good maternity bras from h&m last time i think

@Orangewillow my jeans are already too small for me, leggings and dresses still working but i think soon i may have to bust out the maternity bits. Cant remember what i have packed away haha

KayEmmSquared · 08/09/2025 16:59

Had our 12 week scan today (at 13 weeks, thanks NHS) and baby is coming along nicely, hoping I can now relax a little bit knowing everything is progressing as it should be 🤞🏻

confused2025 · 08/09/2025 17:51

@SamVan you will be grand. This happens all the time ‘in the wild’. It’s just IVF making you question yourself.
@KayEmmSquared that is great news ❤️
@TimetotryagainI am doing ok and no complications, I just feel a little bit like an egg 🥚 right now and no glow. It makes me think it’s a girl. But not sure we are going to find out beforehand. It’s so lovely to see everyone’s progress ❤️

worldwidetravel2017 · 09/09/2025 08:45

Pregnancy insomnia - ugh - hardly slept again last night :(

magpie234 · 09/09/2025 09:03

I am feeling so nauseous today at 6+4. Nothing I do relieves it and it lasts all day every day. The thought of this going on for months more is sending me 😔

Ginger biscuits? Wotsit crisps ?
Satsumas ?

My nausea, eased at 10 weeks preg

magpie234 · 10/09/2025 09:49

@worldwidetravel2017 Trying it all! Have now got some meds from the gp so hoping they take the edge off. Really what I need to do is constantly snack! Hope mine also eases like yours did 🙏🏻

Just back from our viability scan at 6 + 5 and saw a heartbeat flickering away which was a big relief. Such a long way to go but nice to see proof that I am actually as pregnant as I feel!

Timetotryagain · 11/09/2025 12:23

12 week scan went well :) feels like i can breathe a little bit but still got that low level of anxiety obviously!

Hows everyone else?

Timetotryagain · 11/09/2025 12:24

@magpie234 awwwh so glad your viability scan went well!!

confused2025 · 11/09/2025 12:30

@magpie234 @Timetotryagainthis is great news 🥰
doing ok here but could do with a little more sleep 🤣

lemons44 · 11/09/2025 12:47

Lovely news @Timetotryagain and @magpie234

I have my NHS scan on Monday when I should be 13 weeks. Counting down the days!

All ok here except my symptoms seem to have ramped up a bit rather than going down. I’ve had pretty bad nausea, the worst it’s been so far, and I am having such strong cravings for cheese.

FlatWhiteAnyone · 11/09/2025 16:54

Hi ladies, can I join in?
I am 9w today with my third kid (well first one an adult now!). This time around it took us years and a rough road with losses to get here. It is my first DE transfer after many ivf cycles with own eggs.
Nice to see familiar names here!

Timetotryagain · 12/09/2025 11:29

@confused2025 i have been waking up 3am ish and just up (which isn't ideal when my toddler wakes up early anyway haha!)

@lemons44 i have had the same with symptoms , threw up twice this week when week 11 i was actually feel a lot better and then week 12 it seemed to get worse again

@FlatWhiteAnyone congratulations! Are your other two excited or do they not know yet?

Has anyone felt the baby move yet? I swore i felt something yesterday but i am thinking its too early! Although i did feel my last baby move at 14 weeks

FlatWhiteAnyone · 12/09/2025 11:58

@Timetotryagain DC1 knows, we told after transfer the whole story and struggle, she didn’t suspect nor really understood us. But now I think better. DC2 planning to tell end of month as will be difficult for him to keep a secret and we are not ready to share with everyone yet..
Fatigue this time is unbearable, only last two days can function a bit..cannot wait to pass those 13w

magpie234 · 12/09/2025 12:55

Great about the scan @Timetotryagain and that others are doing well too.

Howwwwww slowly does this first trimester want to go? Beyond grateful to finally be in this position it goes without saying. But I am also finding it super tough to the point that I am actually quite stunned by how bad I feel 24/7. Can barely function. I popped into town to run some errands earlier and thought I was going to puke and pass out the entire time. The thought of so much longer of this (only just 7 weeks today!) is really hard mentally on top of physically 😔

Supposed to be going to Greece on a family holiday on Monday for a week but not sure I am going to be able to manage the travel required to get there (a plane and a ferry!). But then maybe I should push myself if only to end up somewhere different for a week for a change of scene that may help the time go faster?! Tricky one.

lemonwrighty · 13/09/2025 06:09

@Timetotryagain I have felt flutters in the last few weeks but for the last few days I have been sure I’ve felt baby moving and DH felt it for the first time last night whilst I was eating a huge bowl of cereal in bed 😂
