Also - i have SO much wind every day

magpie234 · 02/09/2025 13:05

@lemons44 Me too… my first one when I will be 6+5 (I think) is not till next Weds with my ivf clinic and every day feels like an eternity. I am more tired than usual with sore boobs and a bit of mild cramping but otherwise feel totally normal… going to be bricking it for the scan so I asked for the first 7.30am appt!

lemonwrighty · 02/09/2025 14:02

@worldwidetravel2017 my sleep is awful, I probably get about 6 hours in total a day and that’s broken sleep added up. I’m tired all day at work constantly yawning then I get home, have a nap, usually around 30-45 mins, I’m still yawning throughout the evening then I can’t fall asleep 🙄

@Strawberrryfields my anxiety between scans aren’t great but I’m doing well to hold off booking private scans for the sake of it. I have a midwife app at 16w on Friday and I have booked my first private gender scan for this weekend which I think is a time to book, it breaks up the space between the nhs 12 & 20 week scan. 8 weeks without a scan is so long!!

Strawberrryfields · 02/09/2025 14:42

Thanks everyone. @lemons44 I’m 11 weeks and my last one was 9 weeks. I’ve got one booked for next week so want to hold out for that but it’s hard. I’ve had a few already too as had some spotting. Agree about the peace of mind thing though, I feel like I get a few days of peace after a scan but then the little niggling worries start to set in again. But agree @worldwidetravel2017 it is priceless. And might even help me sleep better after a few rubbish nights in a row.

@confused2025 thats good they listen to the heartbeat, when did they start that for you? 20 weeks is such a milestone, hope the next few weeks go quickly for you.

@lemonwrighty I’m not there yet but thought I might try to do 12, 16 then 20 weeks but even a week is feeling like an eternity at the minute. It seems crazy that lots of people have their first scan at 12 weeks!

I’ve definitely not found the right balance yet, I guess it’s just doing what feels right at the time. I think I’ll try to stick it out till next week. I’ve had bad news at a scan before so also wouldn’t want to go on my own and his work times can be tricky.

KayEmmSquared · 02/09/2025 15:06

@Timetotryagain my “12w” scan isn’t until next week too and il be 12+5 (or +6 going by NHS calculations), so annoying when I’m technically 12w tomorrow 😫 just another wait to add to this already long and drawn out process we’ve been through

@worldwidetravel2017 my sleep is so bad, it’s sore hips that are keeping me awake, I’m a stomach sleeper normally but trying to stick to the recommend side sleeping and I think the rigid position I’m holding myself in is giving me really sore hips, constantly switching sides every 30-60mins during the night so absolutely shattered all the time!

@Strawberrryfields the anxiety is so hard to deal with, I don’t think it will ever go away for us just because of how we got to this stage int he first place. I’m really hoping after my scan next week I’ll relax a little but that’s probably a pipe dream. And I’m too scared to get a private scan in case it’s bad news, can’t win!

confused2025 · 02/09/2025 15:28

@Strawberrryfieldsthis is just my first local midwife appointment and she told me on the phone what they do in the appointment. Hopefully all will be ok

confused2025 · 02/09/2025 15:36

Something to be mindful of - The European Union have prohibited the use of trimethylbenzoyl diphenylphosphine oxide—commonly referred to as TPO—in all cosmetic products as of 1 September after studies linked the chemical to long-term fertility issues.

Link didn’t show correctly but basically lots of cosmetics/nail varnishes being recalled as they contain a chemical that’s linked to infertility

lemonwrighty · 02/09/2025 17:27

@confused2025 oh wow thank you for this. I get gels done every 3 weeks, they’ve said it’s safe but I will double check with what you’ve just mentioned to be on the safe side

@Strawberrryfields I really feel for you, it’s so hard especially during the first 12 weeks I ended up having 2 epu scans at 9 &11 weeks because of bleeding and also had my 12 week nhs scan so I went through a period where I was having a scan almost every week for 3 weeks and now I’m 15 weeks, I’ve not had a scan for 3 weeks.
Work has been keeping me and my DH busy and we’ve also had busy weekends so conflicting schedules has meant we’ve not been able to even book a private scan where we are both available, it’s a rule of ours that we’d never go to a scan without each other so I think that’s helped.

In some ways it’s probably a good thing his work time can be tricky because it can sometimes make it difficult for you to book a private scan with you both there, take a day at a time.

@Strawberrryfields Yes the wait between scans is awful! I always think at the next stage I'll feel more secure but I really haven't so far. although I've only seen a heartbeat at 6 and 7 weeks so far and am waiting for my 8 week scan tomorrow. I scan every week but even then it feels like a long wait. I keep thinking it's not going to be there and I'll be devastated and have to start the long long long IVF process (was a real struggle for us) all over again. It doesn't help that I don't have a lot of symptoms at all! Feel totally normal except for a random (no nausea) gag once or twice a day.

Is anyone else randomly gagging?!

magpie234 · 03/09/2025 11:37

@confused2025 I have had to delete my Instagram as the algorithm did the same to me. I am already very anxious. I absolutely know the myriad of things that could go wrong. I do not need to see it every time I open an app to see what my friends are up to.

confused2025 · 03/09/2025 11:39

@magpie234 I muted words but it is still really shocking what you’re exposed to in the early stages. It’s just so wrong x

I randomly gagged the other day.

Lots of my symptoms lessened at 10 wks

Yet the 12 wk private scan was fine

Have nhs 12 wk scan tomo

lemons44 · 03/09/2025 16:06

I feel a bit worried today. I haven’t really had any cramps at all during the pregnancy and now I am 11 weeks I feel I keep getting mild period pains. I stopped one type of progesterone at 10 weeks (lubion) but I am still on two doses of cyclogest a day so wouldn’t have thought it’s to do with that?

confused2025 · 03/09/2025 16:10

It might be the cyclogest @lemons44. When is your next scan?

lemons44 · 03/09/2025 16:11

Not until 15th Sept at 13 weeks. Genuinely so close to booking one this evening just to check all is ok 😩

confused2025 · 03/09/2025 16:12

If it makes you feel better, I would do it . 12 days is a long time to wait x

VioIetMoon · 03/09/2025 16:12

Hi ladies I'd love to join for a little support.
Actually no idea how far along I am. Clearblue said 2-3 . Anyone know how these work? how many weeks this is? I'm guessing somewhere around 4-5? is it about 2 weeks you add on?
We just completed another round of ivf in August. 20 years trying naturally, our only child is from ivf.
Although we went through ivf, we didn't transfer. We had to freeze our embryos due to hormone levels they flagged in bloods on trigger morning. I was awaiting my withdrawal bleed so we could get the process started with a transfer, only to find out I'm pregnant. I'm sure you can understand how shocked we were. I've no idea how it happened. We only had 8 follicles and the dr was certain he got them all. I'm only thinking is that the stimulation helped produce a stronger mature egg?

lemons44 · 03/09/2025 16:23

@confused2025 I’ve booked it for this evening.

confused2025 · 03/09/2025 16:25

@lemons44 will be thinking of you x

confused2025 · 03/09/2025 16:30

@VioIetMooncongratulations and welcome. I spent ages chasing a 3 + weeks on CB Digital and it sent me crazy. I think the threshold for 2-3 weeks is quite high though so you would likely be 4-5 weeks. I’ve heard this happen to folks after treatment. Can you get bloods taken? You are prob two weeks away from being able to have a scan.

VioIetMoon · 03/09/2025 16:44

@confused2025 I'm booked in for bloods but my gp appointment isn't for 2 weeks

confused2025 · 03/09/2025 16:47

Oh I bet that will feel like a lifetime for you. If you can’t wait that long, you probably have somewhere local that can do it privately for you x
