Hi - I couldn’t find a thread but just wondered if anyone else was expecting in 2026 post ivf? I’m due end of Feb so just wanting any similar ladies to chat with!

Totally agree, it’s really hard to trust the process when you’ve had that experience. I am really trying to see this pregnancy as its own thing but some days that’s harder than others.

I think if I get to 12 I’ll book at private one at 16 as 12-20 feels like a lifetime. Was thinking there might even be some flickers of movement around by 16 which would definitely be reassuring🤞But also don’t think I’ll fully take a breath till they’re in my arms!

Def re that last sentence of yours - same

Strawberrryfields · 27/08/2025 17:51

@lemonwrighty ah I missed that bit, impressed with your will power!

Strawberrryfields · 27/08/2025 17:58

I’m so sorry @PlanBFertility didn’t see your update. That’s heartbreaking, so cruel and unfair. Similar happened to me and it’s hard to know what to do with yourself. Sending big hugs and hope you can lean on those closest to you xx

Strawberrryfields · 23/08/2025 13:43

@Whowhatwhere21 you're 100% right. This is my second ivf pregnancy and I found there was a mix of knowledge about ivf pregnancies from the midwives. One of mine was trying to use my collection date to calculate the due date for my frozen transfer months later! Definitely go by your fet date. At my dating scan last time they told me a different date due to measurements but even they said to ignore it as I know my exact dates for certain.

Ring them first thing on Monday you’ve got time to sort it out (it’s just annoying that you’ve got to 🙄)

Yes this is what mine did! She used my march collection date and got November as my due date. 3 times I told her she was using the EC date and it wasn't possible for me to be due in November! After getting it wrong multiple times, then having to sit there listening to her tell me my blood pressure is through the roof I just gave up trying to correct her as she was stressing me out! Ive been trying to get hold of my assigned midwife since yesterday morning but she hasn't picked up the phone or replied to messages

Went for what should have been my 10 week scan today, looking forward to seeing my baby.

baby died at 7wks so literally few days after ivf clinic scan. I am beyond devastated and don’t really know where to go from here.

@PlanBFertility so so sorry to hear this, its so shit and unfair. Sending you lots of love and hugs, and echoing the PP who mentioned worst girl gang for support, they've been an absolute lifeline for me xx

KayEmmSquared · 27/08/2025 18:42

@PlanBFertility I’m so sorry to hear this, sending you lots of hugs xx

lemons44 · 27/08/2025 18:45

@PlanBFertility i am absolutely devastated for you. I’m so, so sorry this has happened. I am thinking of you xx

I’ve switch my cyclogest to vaginal instead of rectally the past few days and now have some brown spotting. Has anyone had this

confused2025 · 28/08/2025 14:56

@lemons44are you using an applicator? This can be a big cause of it. I had it once a few weeks ago but think it is common but I would chat to your midwife about it x

lemons44 · 28/08/2025 14:59

No, no applicator. I did see this online so I’m hoping it’s just the colour of the discharge

@lemons44 i use it rectally as i was worried about any spotting that would make me panic even if its normal feom the suppositories. Could you go back to rectallly or where you having issues?

confused2025 · 28/08/2025 15:02

@lemons44ive had yellow discharge but my midwife said it’s very common with progesterone and they tested my urine on two separate occasions and all was ok. It does make you so stressed x

I’ve had a couple of instances of spotting when using vaginally so use rectally most of the time now instead. I stopped in case the pessaries were causing irritation but also so if I did have any spotting I could try to keep an eye on it rather than it being mixed in with the pessary. I’ve been checked out after the spotting and everything was ok. They just said it’s one of those things, possibly hormonal.

lemons44 · 28/08/2025 15:22

@Strawberrryfields @Timetotryagain @confused2025 thank you. I will definitely got back to rectally from tonight. I have a private scan tonight to have the NIPT so will mention it to the sonographer.

Timetotryagain · 28/08/2025 16:30

@lemons44 good luck for scan and blood test! Are you wanting to find out gender? Tempted to do it too

confused2025 · 28/08/2025 17:00

@lemons44that’s good timing. Good luck with it x

Strawberrryfields · 28/08/2025 18:55

@lemons44 good luck, hope it all goes well 🤞

lemons44 · 28/08/2025 20:32

Thankfully sonographer didn’t seem worried and the scan was ok so they’ve told me just to check with EPU. @Timetotryagain yes we have ticked the box to say we would like to know the gender. Should get the results by next Friday. Little nervous about them (the screening not the gender result) X

Amazing!!! I hope your results are all okay - are you going to do a gender reveal?

Trying to get my gp to prescribe cyclogest until 16 weeks is like trying to get blood out of a stone. "You need to speak to your ivf clinic"

"I have beem discharged from them now"

"Well i need confirmation from a obstetrician can they confirm it?"

"I dont have am obstetrician i am 11 weeks pregnant and my care is under the gp at the moment"

I told her about the NICE guidelines for spotting and previous miscarriage meaning i should get it till 16 weeks but she was being really annoying. She is gonna ask an obstetrician and i am like ffs thats a waste of time but okay please do

confused2025 · 29/08/2025 09:55

@Timetotryagain are you meeting your midwife soon? My midwife and consultant were very pro using progesterone so you may have more luck. Also, you could potentially try a private doctor. There is one in canaryward that specialises in IVF and they do video calls. I can try to find the number as I was in London and thought I lost my progesterone when I was 6 or 7 weeks but they were willing to help me. For some strange reason I ended up with lots of utrogesteran so I’m nearly 16 weeks and still using. Will go down to one a day from Sunday and then finish.

confused2025 · 29/08/2025 09:56

@lemons44great news on your scan x

This is so frustrating to be in the middle like this! I had the same thing about blood tests my IVF clinic advised I get regularly (as I've been on steroids) - GP said no, ask your ivf clinic, ivf clinic doesn't do early pregnancy care but also is private so I'm paying £££ for everything, midwife says too early to see you, you're under care of Gp. Got shirty with GP and that worked but it just feels like you get passed around so much!
