BFP after IVF: 2025

Xwx1010 · 24/03/2025 18:31

Wondering if anyone else has had a BFN after IVF in the past few months? Guessing if so, most would be due October / November / December.

I just can’t get into the due month groups on the main pregnancy page as my headspace is so different after struggling with infertility back to back losses and IVF.

I’m 7weeks after 5AA transfer in February and have had 1 MMC and 2 ectopics. Due date is 11th November (if I make it that far). No children.

If anyone wants to join this thread please do! 💚

@captainsmal oh gosh sorry to hear you’ve been unwell! I hope the new medication regime is working and you’re feeling much better. Fingers crossed all goes well at the next scan and baby growing well. Are you due in Dec? Not long to gooooo xxx

@worldwidetravel2017 12 weeks is such a huge milestone, you’ll be there before you know it. I just celebrate each day that I stay pregnant and whisper thank you to my baby each morning for holding tight! I hope your first trimester is going ok symptoms wise? Best of luck with the next scan!

Edited

Thank you

I keep waking up 2 / 3 / 4am

But am doing ok

captainsmal · 03/09/2025 20:10

@Ivf4203 yes 3rd December but looking like a November baby if they do want her to come early!
@PrincessofLiechtenstein the dr said it’s standard for ivf pregnancies as they know how much our bodies have been through to become pregnant and don’t want to make you go any longer than necessary because of the extra risks or add the stress of being overdue! My sister was 42+5 for the first child and 41+6 for the second (natural pregs) so I know how stressful it can be to go over! He did say I can decline it if I want to though

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 15/09/2025 17:07

Hope everyone is still doing alright? My appointments last week were all ok- don’t have GD which is a relief, but the baby inconveniently had their head down over the where they needed to check so I’ve got to go back for another scan in a couple of weeks and see.

I think the more things go on the more I’m
leaning towards an elective Caesarian. The Dr did say that they would also want to induce before 40
weeks and not recommend birth centre etc. After everything I’m starting to feel quite risk averse and like I just want to get the baby safely out!

captainsmal · 15/09/2025 20:12

@PrincessofLiechtenstein I also had my GD last week and I haven’t heard anything back so I assume I don’t have it as they would only contact if I did! How many weeks are you now? I’m 29 day after tomorrow. I can’t wait for my 32 week scan cos I haven’t had one now since 20 and it’d be good to see baby again and check on her size

Is anyone on here getting close to due dates now? I know there were a few people ahead of me when the thread first started

Peonies94 · 17/09/2025 20:01

hope you don’t mind me commenting here I’m not currently pregnant but just had a transfer and I’m wondering if there’s any early testers who who could tell me when they got their first positive please? Hoping to hold off as long as possible but know I’ll probably cave by 5dp5dt ! 🤦‍♀️

Xwx1010 · 17/09/2025 20:58

@Peonies94 have you been testing out your trigger? Depending on how high this was will impact how long it takes to come out of your system and the potential to see a positive.
my trigger faded out completely by about about 5dpt and then my lines started to pick up again from about 6/7dpt if I remember rightly.
best of luck xx

@captainsmal im seeing my consultant in about 10 days so hoping they book my section in then for week39. My due date falls on a weekend so I’ll be just over 39w I think (looking at first week in Nov).
had so many issues the past few months though I can’t see anything being straightforward for me.
gallstones, baby’s head measurement concerns, fibroid/cyst (they don’t know what it is) possibly in way if I did want natural birth (actually had to have a cancer test to rule out malignant growths as whatever it is, is really big now). So if I even make it to week 39 I’ll be surprised!! Might actually have to change hospitals to one which has a blood bank/intensive care in case of issue with it bleeding during delivery.

hope everyone ok x

@Peonies94 I got my positive at 7dpt but I didn’t test before then so I don’t know if I would’ve got one any earlier, that was the first day the trigger would 100% have been out of my system though

@Xwx1010 bless you sounds like a rough pregnancy! I have consultant again Friday this week and hoping he’ll decide this time about induction etc. I hope your birth/c section goes okay, the cyst thing sounds scary and possibility of it bleeding during!

Hi All,
I was thinking to myself earlier that I hadn’t looked/ heard from you all in a while. Glad to hear you’re all doing okay (even if there have been some hurdles along the way!).

I'm 29 weeks pregnant as of tomorrow (also my 29th birthday!) 😊 We’ve started our antenatal classes today which was great support and to hear the journeys of other mums to be. Also had a growth scan today as my bump was measuring on the large side, everything seems to be okay apart from the femur measuring slightly on the small side.

Our consultant has given us the choice to be induced at 40 weeks due to being an IVF pregnancy also. They haven’t pressured that I need to accept it and advised as long as the rest of the pregnancy is going okay a natural birth should be fine.

Has anyone else started any antenatal classes? I’d really like to do some research on hypnobirthing. x x x

Peonies94 · 18/09/2025 06:26

@captainsmal rhafs helpful thank you!

congratulations to you all!

captainsmal · 18/09/2025 07:22

@LincolnshireHollyhock my midwife gave me a link/qr code to a birthing class website but the website freezes when I try to make an account! Need to ask her at my 31 week appointment so I will be doing classes but not yet 😅

captainsmal · 18/09/2025 07:23

PS @LincolnshireHollyhock happy birthday 🎂

Hi all!

I’m 35 weeks this week. Feels surreal tbh it’s gone so fast!!

Try not to worry about the growth scam @LincolnshireHollyhock I’m sure baby will be fine as they would’ve noticed something at your 20 week scan.

I started antenatal classes too. More so for my partners benefit because his got no baby experience as he and his sibling are close in age. Where’s the age difference between me and mine meant I was 2nd mom lol

You mention induction, are you against it or are you going to hold out to go the natural route?

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 24/09/2025 23:21

@Peonies94I got the faintest of faint lines on an easy@home 5dpt in the afternoon. So faint that DH didn’t believe me. I’ve attached a picture to show you. Got a faint but clear positive on a first response the following morning. I didn’t have a hcg trigger so didn’t need to worry about testing out.

@Xwx1010Sorry to hear you r been having such a rough time of it. Hope you are feeling ok and that your appointment with the consultant is helpful.

@LincolnshireHollyhock hope you had a great birthday. My NCT class starts next week and I’ve been doing pregnancy yoga and Pilates as well which has been good. Was going to book some hypnoborthing classes with my yoga teacher but I’ve decided to wait until my next scan as if I have to book a c section I think I’ll save the money!

@captainsmalyou are exactly one week after me I think so we could end being very close together.

How are you finding the yoga?

Can I be honest and say - the thought of birth does scare me a little bit….but then I try to think of this crazy journey we’ve all been on to get here….so many emotions…

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 25/09/2025 09:33

The yoga has been really good actually. She’s very encouraging and there is a lot of focus on breathing and a positive mindset. And a lot of wiggiling your hips around on all fours!

Ivf4203 · 29/09/2025 16:20

Great to see all your updates! I had my glucose test today and the drink was horrible, I felt nauseous after. Hopefully results are all ok. I might also look into yoga or pregnancy massage as my lower back (coccyx area) has been hurting when I sit down even for just an hour or so. Not great for when I have lots of meetings. I tried the U-pillow but doesn’t seem to make a difference. Hope you’re all keeping wel! X

captainsmal · 24/10/2025 13:26

Hi everyone! How are we all getting on? Does anyone have any updates?

Do we have any of the November due dates who’ve had their little ones yet? It’s all so close now!

I had consultant again this morning, my baby is measuring 11th percentile so I have to have growth scans every 2 weeks. I have my next one Monday and he said if she’s dropped below 10 percent I’ll be getting induced at 37 weeks which is 12th November 😱 scary thought!

Ivf4203 · 24/10/2025 17:06

Hi @captainsmal thanks for the update. Hopefully your baby has some late growth spurts so can stay in mummy’s womb a bit longer but I know several women who gave birth at 37 weeks and little ones are perfectly healthy! Very excited for you.

Nothing much to report from my end. I’ll be induced at 39 weeks. I was given that option although consultant said perfectly fine to wait for natural labour until later too. I opted for induction, it was explained to me that I may need more pain relief because of induction but I just can’t wait to meet my baby! Xx

captainsmal · 24/10/2025 17:23

@Ivf4203 exciting! When is 39 weeks for you? Yeah I think inducing can make contractions stronger, when my sister had her first baby they gave her an epidural as standard as they said it would be too strong otherwise but I really don’t want one due to past issues with my back so hoping I don’t have to have it if I’m induced 😳

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 25/10/2025 19:14

Good to hear from you @captainsmaland hope hope you are feeling ok about the growth scans. Hopefully it’s reassuring to know they are keeping a really close eye on you both. 12th November isn’t far away though! Are you ready?

I haven’t managed to pack my bag yet but I will do it tomorrow. I’ve just been washing all the baby’s things which is apparently necessary even though it seems a bit silly!

Things are going well with me although I’m getting very tired now and wishing I had finished work earlier! I had the opposite problem- baby was measuring 90th percentile last time so they are keeping an eye on that.

My 36w scan is next Friday. Annoyingly though I am a bit worried that he’s managed to turn himself breech. He’s been pretty settled head down for ages but when I woke up this morning he seemed to be hiccuping somewhere under my ribs. Hopefully there is still time to flip back over. It will solve my induction vs C section dilemma though.

Glad to hear things are going well@Ivf4203how many weeks are you now? I’ve lost track of everyone’s due dates.

captainsmal · 25/10/2025 19:34

@PrincessofLiechtenstein I have babies hospital bag packed, just need to do mine and get my car seat from my parents house! I had my last day of work today and I got really emotional even though all this time I’ve been so excited for time off work, I think it all just hit me at once that I am going to be a mum soon! Lol

Hopefully baby is still head down, if it helps my baby has hiccups about 3-4 times a day and I feel it sort of all over my bump tbh even though she’s definitely head down. I think it’s just legs or arms maybe twitching due to the hiccups 🤞🏻

Xwx1010 · 26/10/2025 08:22

@PrincessofLiechtenstein @captainsmal I bet you baby is measuring absolutely fine and not big/ small when they arrive either 😂 so many people on here measuring big or small and then perfect when they arrive!

I’ve got my section date - week after next (early Nov) so feeling excited but also naturally nervous. I’m all ready, bag packed etc. finished work on Friday too.
just going to do some cleaning this week and lots of rest!

@Xwx1010thats very exciting! Hope it all goes well for you. Let us know when baby is here!

Thanks @captainsmalI’m hoping I’m wrong. Although it would solve my should I have a C section problem I suppose 😅

Bag is packed now. And just two weeks of work to get through. Can’t believe how fast it’s happened in the end!
