BFP after IVF: 2025

Xwx1010 · 24/03/2025 18:31

Wondering if anyone else has had a BFN after IVF in the past few months? Guessing if so, most would be due October / November / December.

I just can’t get into the due month groups on the main pregnancy page as my headspace is so different after struggling with infertility back to back losses and IVF.

I’m 7weeks after 5AA transfer in February and have had 1 MMC and 2 ectopics. Due date is 11th November (if I make it that far). No children.

If anyone wants to join this thread please do! 💚

@Ivf4203 I never had my hcg measured so I have no clue what it was. If I go by old wives tales about cravings etc, they say boy as I craved salty. A lot of people say my
bump says girl because it’s more round. On scan pics with skull/nub theory I say girl personally. Also, the night before I took my pregnancy test I had a dream I was pregnant with a girl so that’s my best guess at the moment but everyone else in the family etc is saying boy so who knows 🤷🏼‍♀️ find out tomorrow haha

Xwx1010 · 26/06/2025 19:46

I also think I’m having a girl but not finding out. The nub wasn’t raised and the skull very rounded. Interesting to see if it’s right come November!

also I am just constantly up the pole with constipation, I’m on a sachet daily atm and still not having much of an impact!

rescan is next Friday x

@Xwx1010 omg same! I feel like I haven’t pooped since I got pregnant 🤣 really struggling!

Xwx1010 · 26/06/2025 20:07

@captainsmal im on movicol now, the fybrogel wasn’t cutting it anymore!

captainsmal · 26/06/2025 20:27

@Xwx1010 did you buy it or get a prescription? I’m tempted to go see the dr and ask for some myself lol!

Xwx1010 · 27/06/2025 11:59

@captainsmal just from superdrug! Tbh even that isn’t doing much anymore… going to see how this week goes and then might need to try something else from the dr!

captainsmal · 27/06/2025 18:47

@Xwx1010 fybogel doesn’t do anything for me so I’m not sure if movicol would either lol

we had our private scan today! I’m having a little girl 😍 I’m just over the moon tbh!

It’s all starting to feel real… from those first consultations at the ivf clinic to being here….it often feels surreal xx

captainsmal · 27/06/2025 19:59

@LincolnshireHollyhock I think it definitely feels more real now and I don’t have to keep calling her “it” anymore lol

@Xwx1010 maybe I’ll try some then!

@Ivf4203 I know exactly like my dream haha

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 01/07/2025 16:31

How’s everyone coping in the heat this week? I’ve just got back from Glastonbury which was lots of fun (even without a drink!) but it has pretty much used up all my energy!

I was a bit out of touch but it was good to see some exciting scan news! Congratulations on your girl @LincolnshireHollyhock

Ivf4203 · 03/07/2025 11:45

Hi @PrincessofLiechtenstein glad you enjoyed Glastonbury - i admire your energy!!

My 12 week scan went well, baby is measuring right on track now ♥️ . I also stopped my progesterone as instructed by my IVF clinic. I don’t know if co-incidence but since then I’ve been having throbbing headaches esp when i get up from lying down. My blood pressure is fine, i check it regularly at home. Also co incided with the heatwave so could be slightly dehydrated. I stopped the progesterone on Monday and that’s one of the hottest days I think. I’ve been taking paracetamol whenever i couldn’t bear it but i hate taking meds i feel paranoid/guilty!! I know some of you had headaches - any tips to cope with it? When do they go??

Xwx1010 · 03/07/2025 16:21

@Ivf4203 congrats on your scan! No tips for headaches, mine come and go. Water & paracetamol! Less screen time too x

@PrincessofLiechtenstein wow I’m impressed at your Glastonbury effort! I’m done in just pottering in the garden! Still getting lots of groin pain nothing worsening though, at least that’s something

i have my rescan tomorrow to check baby’s head and spine, really hope all is ok. We saw some teeny kicks this week which given I’ve got an anterior P I think that’s not too bad for 21w!

Thanks @Xwx1010 hope your scan goes well tomorrow! And how exciting about the little kicks xx

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 03/07/2025 18:19

Great news about your 12 week scan @ivf4203that’s great news. I’ve also been having headaches this week which I think are mainly dehydration. I was drinking lots of water but mush have been low on salt as Rehydration salts sorted me out a bit. A little ice pack on my head and neck was also very nice on Tuesday when it was boiling.

Glad the groin pain isn’t any worse @LincolnshireHollyhockhope it stays that way. And best of luck for your scan tomorrow. I hope baby is a big more cooperative!

Ive been feeling a few kicks this week although not very consistently (something else to worry about!) I think it depends which way they are facing as yesterday I was suddenly getting a pummelling but it’s all quiet again today.

That’s okay - hope everyone is doing okay! I’m trying to find a pregnancy pillow currently!

captainsmal · 06/07/2025 18:50

Congrats on your 12 week scan @Ivf4203 !
Hope your scan went well @Xwx1010 ?
I moved house Monday, got totally caught in the heat and we forgot to bring glasses/cups over in the first van load so got stuck in the new house unloading for hours without any drink! Ended up sticking my head under the kitchen tap but I got very ill with heat stroke for a few days afterwards annoyingly 🤒 also slipped over while moving which freaked me out but I went on my bum rather than bump and I felt her move immediately after as if to say WTF was that lol 😂
Definitely been feeling more movement this week! I’m 18 and a half now, what else is everyone feeling so far? I have a posterior placenta so I felt movement a lot earlier than I expected but they’re definitely getting stronger now. Feels like a pulse in my lower stomach, sometimes a flutter and sometimes more of a strong thump lol

Xwx1010 · 06/07/2025 19:04

@captainsmal hey, thanks for asking. Scan was fine - spine all good, head catching up and placenta moved up already.

however, I was rushed to a&e Friday at 2am due to a severe gall bladder attack which was restricting my breathing, it was petrifying. Called 999, projectile vomitting, couldn’t breathe and my chest and back was just in excruciating pain. Ambulance was an hour so we had to drive. I was there all night, it was awful. They couldn’t check baby but my scan was later that at 3pm so lucky we know they’re ok from that. I’m back tomorrow for bloods/gallbladder scan but apparently it’s more common in pregnant woman due to high eastrogen. I’m now on a very strict diet and waiting to find out removal waiting times which is likely to be well over a year.
Just can’t believe it. I am off on leave this week and we’ve had to cancel our few days uk hol as just don’t want to chance not being close to a hospital, so disappointing as we really needed the break.

oh gosh sounds like quite a stressful weekend too - least you fell on your bum, nice and cushioned! How’s the house move going?

i was told by the consultant the pulsation if it’s regular like a heartbeat is more likely the placenta blood flow, but I’ve been getting bubbles/swishing sensations and this week we finally felt proper kicks and can see them very lightly on my stomach. They’re always more active in the evening after my dinner and a cuppa! I’m over 22w now, honestly 24 weeks can’t come quick enough so I feel a little more in the safe zone.

I imagine I’m going down the section route with all these complications! Seeing consultant in sept so will work out a plan with them then.

@Xwx1010 oh wow that sounds horrendous! Glad you and the baby are both okay! 😰

good thanks, we finished actually moving Tuesday and I took a sick day Wednesday because of the heat stroke, then I’ve been back at work so just unpacking here and then in the evenings. Got the majority of the important areas sorted so it’s liveable at least- kitchen, bathroom, living room etc. Waiting for a bed to be delivered tomorrow and can’t wait to not have to struggle up from a mattress on the floor anymore lol 😂 also sorted a few bits and bobs in the baby’s room which felt so good 😊

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 08/07/2025 21:45

Oh no that sounds stressful @Xwx1010i hope you are feeling a bit better now. Really sorry about your holiday too. Hopefully you can get away for a little break at some point?

Well done on the move @captainsmalbet you are glad to be in the new place but sounds like it was a bit much! Hope you have some time to rest a bit this week. Try to make sure you don’t overtax yourself!

Ive got my 20 week scan on Friday so excited to see the baby again. I am feeling a bit more movement but it’s not very consistent yet. Hopefully it will get more identifiable in the next couple of weeks.
