Hiya. I’m due to start IVF in March and just wanted to find some people who were going through the same so we can support/ advise eachother! I’m 32 and have been trying to get pregnant for 8 years now and just wanted to meet some people in the same boat!

@ivfjourneyandme my nurse said 7-9pm but I thought she meant pick a time and stick to it, but I’ve realised now I didn’t have to be so exact 😅 just me panicking for no reason lol

KayEmmSquared · 02/03/2025 09:10

@captainsmal I’ve been taking mine between 7am and 8am and they seem to be working so I wouldn’t worry about being a little late. Enjoy your 3days off work :)

Allnew2021 · 02/03/2025 20:09

Hi, I hope everyone had a good weekend. I'm on the February thread but thought I'd jump over here to the March thread.

I had egg collection on Wednesday 3 eggs were retrieved and all fertilised. So now I'm waiting for the day 5 update which I should get tomorrow.

We are doing a freeze all so we can do pgta testing and also to give the clinic chance to try and improve my lining for a frozen transfer.
My last scan was 2 days before my collection and my lining was only 4.8mm, even with the stims. During all my pre IVF investigations the thickest it had ever got was only 5.6mm (that was after having adhesions removed and 3 months of hormone treatment including oestrogen tablets).

lovelivelaugh63 · 02/03/2025 22:54

Hi all, im on another March thread but thought I'd join here.

I have my nurses appointment this coming week and am due to start stims end of March. I am on short protocol, low amh and MFI.

What supplements are you all taking? How are you all feeling? Im feeling really nervous now.

captainsmal · 02/03/2025 23:57

@lovelivelaugh63 good luck at your nurse appointment! I was so nervous before mine too but honestly you will feel better after that appointment when you get your protocol and have a plan! At least that’s how I felt anyway 🤞🏻 Now I’m in stims etc I honestly feel like it’s going so quickly I don’t have time to be nervous 😅

Supplements- DH is on Impryl (we have slight MFI) and Vit D 2000iu recommended by the dr
I just take the Asda pregnancy ones so it’s folic acid + a bunch of other stuff and then they found I was severely deficient in Vit D so I did 4000iu for two months and now dropped down to 2000iu and sharing with DH (we bought like a years supply so we could just both use them lol)

@Allnew2021 good luck tomorrow!

KayEmmSquared · 03/03/2025 09:04

@lovelivelaugh63 i take Pregnacare Before Conception supplements as my clinic told me to take these. Before I was told what to take I was taking the Asda ones like captainsmal.

I’m just about to head in for my Day 13 Stims scan, hopefully a couple more follicles have grown since Friday and the bigger ones have reached the 17mm minimum 🤞🏻

captainsmal · 03/03/2025 09:47

@KayEmmSquared ooh good luck at your scan!

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 03/03/2025 10:48

@lovelivelaugh63 I am on all the supplements! I had to get one of those pill for every day of the week boxes and I have too many to fit! I'm taking:

Zita West vitafem, vitafem plus and vital DHA (all twice a day)
Vitamin D
A vaginal probiotic as I kept getting thrush from the gels they use for scans
Coq-10

DH has:
Ova male fertility support (I have had the ova female tablets as well instead of zita spending on what's on offer)
Vitamin D
Coq-10

It's costing a fortune and I suspect I'm using it as a crutch but it makes me feel like we are doing something! DHs results did improve quite a lot since he started taking everything and wearing loose boxers. We both stopped drinking as well.

I've just had a scan to check my lining for FET. 9.1mm which is good so I think we will be going ahead this week. Just waiting to see the nurse and get a date.

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 03/03/2025 10:48

Oh and good luck to everyone else with scans today!

captainsmal · 03/03/2025 12:19

@PrincessofLiechtenstein thats good news! Good luck this week when you go ahead with it!

lovelivelaugh63 · 03/03/2025 12:33

Hi all,

I have made a group chat on telegram for the purpose of discussing our upcoming ivf treatment, infertility etc. Makes it easier to discuss on a group chat I thought. If you would like to join the link is

KayEmmSquared · 03/03/2025 13:06

Day 13 scan and I have three follicles ready to go - 21, 20 &19 and three follicles on their way 13, 12 & 12.
I've been given my trigger home with me but need to wait on a call this afternoon to find out if I’ve to take it (and get my instructions) or go back for another scan tomorrow before taking it.

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 03/03/2025 13:38

@KayEmmSquared that's exciting! Those numbers look promising for your trigger soon I would say.

I've had confirmation of my transfer next Monday. Very exciting but feels like ages to
wait. Have got to start progesterone injections etc on Wednesday.

On a separate note I'm slightly miffed now that I've realised that they have given me a painkiller to take before the FET. Three coils I've had that I would describe as "bloody painful" not the "slight discomfort" I was promised. I suppose I should be grateful that I'm getting something this time!

RainbowFluff · 03/03/2025 14:59

Hi everyone, I’m jumping over here from the February thread too, nervously awaiting my day 5 update some time today. I had 14 collected, 8 mature, all fertilised.

Previous 2 cycles I had 13 collected in June, 4 mature and all fertilised, one fresh transfer which resulted in MMC and one frozen that didn’t stick.

Then in December I had 7 collected, 5 mature, 4 fertilised but all arrested before day 5.

Supplement wise my partner is on wellman conception. I’m on vitamin b, c, d, co q10 and folate plus acupuncture. Gave up caffeine, alcohol and strenuous exercise before my first cycle. Since December I started acupuncture and also changed my diet from porridge/salads to hot foods plus gave up plastic food containers.

ZCarver · 03/03/2025 15:31

Hi Guys, Just messaging as Im starting the process now. I had gonapeptyl injection at the clinic last Monday and I have scan on 10th march to see if I can start stims on 11th. Fingers crossed! Very nervous for egg collection though! that the only bit im really scared off, having never had a surgical procedure or Op. Be glad to get it out the way haha.

Good luck to everyone on here :)

Allnew2021 · 03/03/2025 16:46

Good luck everyone with collections and transfers coming up this week!

I had my day 5 call this afternoon and it's not looking good. They said 2 are near the early blastocyst stage and the other 1 is lagging further behind. He said they will give the embryos as long as they can tomorrow to see if any catch up but that it's not looking great at the moment. I know there is a small chance 1 might catch up but I really don't feel hopeful about it after the call today.

RainbowFluff · 03/03/2025 17:48

@Allnew2021 me too! Sorry you had similar. I have one that probably will make a blast tomorrow on day 6 but it’s small, and one that is early morula and still dividing. It’s maddening as I was so excited to get 8 mature eggs, yet I’m ending up with less embryos than when I only had 4.

captainsmal · 03/03/2025 18:30

@RainbowFluff @Allnew2021 sorry to hear about your embryos, hopefully they catch up tomorrow 🤞🏻 It seems like such a luck of the draw thing sometimes doesn’t it!

Did anyone else have or is it normal to be getting like mild cramps/twinges during this stims process? I’m taking it as a good sign that something is happening with my ovaries but I don’t have my first scan until next week (day 11) so I’m a bit nervous about whether the discomfort is normal so early on. I’m on day 4 currently and I’m only on 150iu so a really low dose. It feels like little twinges or sharp scratch pains mostly when I bend down or move too quickly. I guess it could also be bloating? I’ve been really gassy since I started this lol

Allnew2021 · 03/03/2025 19:17

@RainbowFluff it is so frustrating isn't it. I hope you manage to get some caught up tomorrow, I will keep my fingers crossed for you. I only started with 3 so not hopeful that I will get any embryos out if this cycle - considering the embryologist started the phone call with "I'm affraid its not great news" and then after updating me on progress ended the call saying they will check again tomorrow but its not looking great.

RainbowFluff · 03/03/2025 19:33

@captainsmal i had 200iu gonal F, the first few days I always describe as like a crawling sensation in my ovaries and then after that I tend to get pelvic floor pain. I would say that’s more like discomfort than a twinge but maybe that’s what you’re feeling? I wouldn’t say my ovaries themselves ever felt like they hurt.

captainsmal · 03/03/2025 19:40

@RainbowFluff thats probably it then, it feels like either very mild AF cramps or it feels a bit like how I was for a couple of weeks after my hsg last year. Just a general tenderness and heavy feeling, with the twinges every now and then but nothing that a hot water bottle/paracetamol isn’t solving. wasn’t sure if I should be feeling anything yet when I’ve only done a few days worth of injections so far 😬

Loz365 · 03/03/2025 20:30

Good luck to everyone with their treatment 🤞

Anyone else with PCOS found their cycle has become excessively long? For the last 18 months my cycles have been short (22-27 days) but always ovulate according to temps. Also helped at various points by letrozole to induce ovulation but even unmedicated my cycles were fairly regular.
Currently on day 37 with no hit of a temp rise 😔 typical that it happens the cycle before starting IVF!!

BreakfastOats · 03/03/2025 21:22

This is a great thread, thanks for sharing your stories. I will keep everyone waiting for updates about follicles/eggs/embryos in my thoughts. You’re all really brave and deserve 🍀❤️

I though I’d be starting stims today but my clinic is fully booked so I need to wait a couple weeks, then start a medicine that will ensure I’ll get my period on time and finally start stims end of March.

This is our first round of treatment, short protocol - Menopur 350. TTC for 18 months, 35 with low AMH. DH has low morphology but otherwise really good parameters. Regular cycles. I was on monitored Letrozole cycles for 6 months to ovulate more eggs each month to increase our chances. Despite good follicle growth, we never had a positive pregnancy test so I lost my beautiful eggs for nothing 😅 Our doctor suspects something isn’t lining up with fertilisation. If our cycle goes well, we’ll do both IVF and ICSI to get more information about what is going on.

Sending you all hugs!

@ivfjourneyandme I recognised your username, hope you’re feeling well x

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 03/03/2025 21:26

@RainbowFluff @Allnew2021 I'm not sure if this helps or not but I got a very similar day 5 update- nothing to freeze, a couple still going but slowing down, we'll update you again tomorrow.

Day 6 they called me back and told me they'd frozen three.

I'll keep everything crossed for both of you. I really hope they keep growing.

Twofromanotherkind · 03/03/2025 21:29

@BreakfastOats I will be starting stims end of March also. Am doing it solo using a sperm donor. Doing IVF as one of my tubes is blocked, AMH is lower end of normal. I've got my consultant appointment tomorrow and then nurse planning appointment on Wednesday.
Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone waiting on news of embryos 🤞🏻
