Hiya. I’m due to start IVF in March and just wanted to find some people who were going through the same so we can support/ advise eachother! I’m 32 and have been trying to get pregnant for 8 years now and just wanted to meet some people in the same boat!

@Twofromanotherkind my meds came from stork, I’m with care under nhs so they were all free obviously so they just deliver them all together in one big box, I’ve even got my trigger already and suppository for EC painkiller lol!
@Banksl92 that sounds about right if you’re going to stim for 10-12 days like me, mine just made me take this norethisterone first to fit my period into their schedule (although now I’m panicking it won’t come in time lol!) my last appointment was the nurse planning one then yeah they arrange the meds delivery right after that, I literally got a call from stork about an hour later asking what day I was at home for them to deliver lol. I think you’re not supposed to have any perfume or shower gel or anything for EC at all, but they haven’t told me yet. They said I’d get all the information about it on my scan date and when to take trigger etc! Also on embryo transfer it’s the same with the smells apparently, and it applies to partners as well if they’re coming in the room for it 😬

I find it so crazy how something like perfume can affect these things! When are you due for egg collection? Mine should be 17/18th all being well. X

Yep no jewellery, nail polish, perfume, body wash, deodorant etc as embryo/eggs very sensitive to chemicals. we both had a plain water shower the morning of collection and I went make up free too. You’ll be asked to take in slippers too.
I noticed most nurses are the same in there but my consultant nurse who did my transfer had a full face of make up and perfume on which I was miffed about!
I got a booklet with all this in, so hopefully you’ll get something similar.

Ah I see I dread to think how much they'll cost but such is life! Can't wait to get started now. Got my final consultant and nurse appnt next Tuesday and Wednesday

captainsmal · 24/02/2025 22:19

@Twofromanotherkind I know right? I’m so thankful and grateful we were eligible for the nhs as I couldn’t do this without it tbh. When I was in my old job we used to do prescriptions for ivf couples so I know how much these drugs all cost 😱
@Banksl92 mine should be 12th March as long as my period comes by Thursday and if follicles are big enough on my 10th March scan. If they’re not I’ll stim for an extra couple of days and have it 14th March instead.

still no period, I know it’s only two days into stopping the tablets but I’m getting impatient and a bit worried lol 🙄 but I’ve had such horrible cramps for days now so surely it must be here soon?! Like it basically feels like I’m having one with all the cramps etc just no actual blood yet lol. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 I’m hoping it’ll start overnight or something. Definitely been trying some of the old wives tales to bring on a period lol 😂 they worked last month and it came a day early so maybe they’re all true 😅

Fingers crossed it comes soon! I seem to have woken up with a cold this morning so really hope it doesn't last too long!

@Banksl92 always the way! I just got over a bad one the other week lol

captainsmal · 26/02/2025 08:45

Hey ladies! How’s everyone doing?
AF came this morning day 4 after stopping norethisterone so looks like I’m full steam ahead for stims Friday evening, just waiting for clinic to confirm 🤞🏻

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 26/02/2025 12:18

Hi everyone, hope you are all doing ok. Good news on the period @captainsmal, hope all goes well with your baseline scan.

I have my day 10 scan for FET this morning. Lining was 6.5mm so they have upped me from 3xprognovia to 5x plus patches.

Next scan on Monday next week, I assume that means transfer probably towards the end of the week depending on how things go.

Quaver9 · 26/02/2025 12:57

@captainsmal so glad you can move onto the next step of stims!!

@PrincessofLiechtenstein good luck with your transfer, fingers crossed it’s on time, delays are tough.

my transfer was Sunday and already feels like it’s dragging!

That's great to hear. I had my last nurses appointment yesterday and all went well. Still full of cold so trying to get rest as much as possible to shift it before next week. I'm due to get a call over the weekend and meds to be delivered on Monday ready to hopefully start on Thursday

@Banksl92 exciting! Hopefully your cold goes by then 🤞🏻 are you going straight into stims Thursday or do you have any down reg to do first?

captainsmal · 28/02/2025 19:41

So I just did my first injection! No problems at all, didn’t feel the needle (didn’t numb it or anything it’s just such a tiny needle lol) maybe some slight soreness afterwards where the medicine was dispersing, and teeny bit of bleeding (maybe I took the needle out too quickly?)
I was so calm before and during but then had a little bit of adrenaline rush after I finished and got a bit emotional 😅
I’ve got a tiny little injection site reaction like red and raised a bit but no other problems! Considering it’s the first time I’ve ever had to inject myself I’m pretty pleased with how it went 😁
Now let’s hope lots of nice eggs grow lol 😂

KayEmmSquared · 28/02/2025 20:23

Stims Day 10 scan for me today -
Follicles :
*1@14mm
*1@13mm
*1@11mm
*at least 4smaller ones that should catch up no bother.

Lining:
*8.6mm

Back on Monday for another scan 🤞🏻

captainsmal · 28/02/2025 20:36

@KayEmmSquared that sounds promising! Will you trigger Monday if they’re big enough?

Was it your first scan? My clinic only does the day 10 one as well, was worried about that but seems quite common now I’ve spoken to a few people who went there (sorry if I’ve asked that before I’ve confused myself who I’ve spoken to about what lol)

KayEmmSquared · 28/02/2025 20:52

@captainsmal iI’ll get my trigger and date/time to take it if the follicles are ready on Monday, but not sure when that will be, or I’ll get another scan for Tuesday/Wednesday if the follicles need more time. I’m thinking EC will be sometime near the end of next week, all going well.

I’m glad your first stims injection went well, my tummy is a bit tender now with all the injections but only had a couple of stingy feeling injections so can’t complain.

captainsmal · 28/02/2025 21:11

@KayEmmSquared that makes sense, exciting to think this time next week you might have had EC. Are you feeling okay about it or more nervous? I seem to switch between excited/nervous multiple times a day lol.
Thanks, I think mine will probably be tender too by the end of the 10 days, also I’m one of those people who bruise like a peach so I’m expecting I’ll probably end up with a stomach covered in them lol. (Literally after my last blood test with the clinic my entire arm came out in a huge bruise that’s how easily I get them lol)

KayEmmSquared · 28/02/2025 21:52

I’m feeling pretty calm about it all so far, keep telling myself that there isn’t much I can do except follow doctors orders and hope for the best so no point stressing myself about it, long may this calm mind continue 😂

oh god that sounds horrendous, your poor arm! I normally bruise pretty easily but so far only 3 tummy bruises and the tiny arm bruise from the bloods they took today.

captainsmal · 01/03/2025 07:49

@KayEmmSquared thats good then! Hopefully lovely calm mind continues 😊
well I don’t have any bruises this morning just a teeny dot where I injected so that’s good! I’m really tired this morning though, don’t know if that’s a side effect or just because Saturday is my last work day of the week 😅 luckily 3 day weekend after today to sleep lol

KayEmmSquared · 01/03/2025 08:48

You’re on Gonal-F stims, aren’t you? That’s what I’m on, I don’t get any fatigue but I get plenty of brain fog! Thankfully I’m not seeing many side effects from the stims. But I started Buserelin today and I’m worried about the side effects after reading other posts about it, fingers crossed I don’t get any.

I hope your last shift of the week goes quick and you can chill for a few days.

lemonwrighty · 01/03/2025 10:42

Hi everyone. I'll be starting my first IVF cycle 23 March going through the NHS. Meds are being delivered next week so they can be checked and ready, I'll be starting stims on day 3 and doing a fresh cycle.. very exciting but worried at the same time. We've also decided to add moving house within the chaos 😩

captainsmal · 01/03/2025 11:22

@KayEmmSquared yeah Gonal F and then Ganirelix- good thing I randomly decided to re-read my protocol this morning because I thought I was starting those Wednesday but it’s actually Tuesday!
I’m not as tired now as I was this morning but had some mild cramps around my ovaries so hopefully a sign it’s already starting to work! 🤞🏻
@lemonwrighty welcome! I started on Day 3 too. It’s definitely exciting but also nerve wracking!

Familyfirst12 · 01/03/2025 20:11

Hi ladies, hope it’s okay for me to join you! We had our egg collection 2 weeks ago and got a god handful of embryos in the freezer. We had to do a freeze all due to my risk of ohss and I didn’t feel very well at all afterwards. I’ve since had my ‘period’ or withdrawal bleed and are planning our fet with my next cycle. Periods slightly unpredictable but hoping day 1 will be towards the end of this month with fet early April! It’s nice to have people to chat too who are going through the same thing - I wish I’d joined a big thread whilst we were doing stims! X

captainsmal · 01/03/2025 22:16

@Familyfirst12 welcome 😊 Congrats on your frosties! Sorry that you weren’t well after EC though, ohss sounds horrible from what I’ve heard from women who got it!

captainsmal · 01/03/2025 22:23

I did my 2nd stim this evening but I had a total nightmare compared to how calm and easy it was yesterday tbh! I was on the bus home and literally a few mins away when I realised I’d forgotten my house key 😱 frantically called husband because I needed to do my injections and luckily he had finished work early and was actually on the bus one hour after mine! Then had a very cold hour wait at the bus stop for him 🥶 and managed to get in and do the stims but it was around 50mins later than yesterday. I’m really hoping that’s okay! I was trying to do them the same time each day but after some worried Googling I saw there’s an hours leeway either side so I’m really hoping I’ve not mucked it up too much 🤞🏻🤞🏻
And then to top it off I was so stressed out by that point I basically rammed it in there way too quickly and pressed the plunger too fast as well so it hurt a bit compared to yesterday where I didn’t feel it at all 😮‍💨 and had a tiny bit of leakage when I took the needle out (like a drop) so hope that’s okay too! Don’t think I pinched the skin properly either tbh 🙃
Just so angry at myself tbh, after how proud I was doing my first one yesterday to then forget my flipping house key 🙄🙄

ivfjourneyandme · 01/03/2025 23:58

@captainsmal I did my stims anywhere from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. Same with my down reg injections x
