BFP after IVF - due October 2025

Hi all I thought I would create a thread for our BFPs after IVF.

A bit about me: 34 years old (35 next month)
2x failed transfers and 1x failed to thaw
BFP with this little blub. Scan date 7th of February (will be 6wks1day)🎊
Here's to continuous panicking 🤪

@Cosyseason1234 sorry to hear that, are you able to eat at all? x

I am having no symptoms still apart from some mild cramping, mostly in the evenings and some bloating. I even decided to do another test yesterday, the digital one that says how many weeks. The most it can show is 3+, and that's what it displayed, I just wanted to know how much of HCG it will detect, surely if it was 1 week, 2-3 weeks that would be a worrying sign.

@Elena3 luckily I can still eat just feel very sick and low energy 🤢

don’t worry at all,my friend is in her 11th week of pregnancy and has had no symptoms at all just tiredness. 3+ weeks is a great sign,hopefully you get no sickness! I think it depends how susceptible you are to a certain hormone as to if you get sick or not.

@Cosyseason1234 thank you x Usually I am very prone to vomiting, not pregnancy related but I can't even drink more than 1,5 glasses of wine, because even 2 glasses would make me very very sick aftwerwards x
I hope you feel better soon x My mood swings kinda calmed down too, same as yourself I self-ruined my last weekend.

I've got constipation and huge bloating - assuming from the pessaries. I'm on half a can of prunes a day! (Sorry, TMI)

No other symptoms. Would happily not have these either!

I might do another digital test too @Elena3 - feels weird not testing anymore and I haven't had any blood tests as my clinic doesn't do them. Will probably do it next weekend when it should show 2-3 weeks or maybe 3+

Other issue - I don't want to tell my parents I'm pregnant until post viability scan but they keep asking me what the next steps are now we've had EC. They think I have 2 in the freezer, but we have one in the freezer and one in the 'oven'! I don't want to flat out lie but ideally I just want this time to ourselves for now, and then would like to tell them face to face, post scan so we can properly celebrate and be together. Always envisaged telling them face to face if we had conceived naturally and I'm just trying to allow myself to still have SOME of the moments we lost through IVF.

Think I might have to just say clinic has decided FET will be mid march which gives me time... or say we have decided to wait until after our holiday in June. Hate lying but they will forgive me for it...

What is everyone else doing?

@OneWaryCat I totally get that. I feel the same about having the normality of announcing a pregnancy taken. We hadn't told my mum and the plan was to tell her after scan. But that all went out the window when DH and I ended up on hospital and I had to tell her because I was so stressed!

We haven't told DHs parents yet. Seeing them next weekend so we might end up telling them I guess. Scan isn't until the week after though

Such a scary time for you @Mseddy - hope everything is better now?

If I was seeing my parents earlier than the scan I would probably tell them then, it just so happens we have planned to see them the weekend after so it aligns well. Ideally I'd like to hand her a scan pic in person and see her face and have a little cry together. ❤️

@OneWaryCat I totally get what you mean about how many moments are 'lost due to IVF',that's so true...
We told the parents on test day suggested by the ivf clinic, even though we knew several days before. My mom was happy of course, but not much surprised, as she said she knew I was pregnant before the test day, because knowing me she expected me to do probably like 5 tests by that time, and she was right :D

Ladies, writing this post I started feeling nauseous 🤐😷

Have been nauseous on and off last couple days although nothing major luckily. The constant peeing is annoying was out yesterday and ended up going to toilet after nearly every shop 😂

Im almost wishing to feel loads of symptoms but I know I will regret saying that when it all starts!!

@Cosyseason1234 I had my first retch in the bathroom this morning after my husband sprayed deoderant, it was gross but I loved it! I'm with you @Purpleflowers17 bring on the symptoms 😂xx

@Elena3 @Purpleflowers17 @Eagerlywaiting1990 yay welcome to the sicky crew 😂 I genuinely feel like I’ve had a week long hangover. The constant weeing is a lot also!

Hi lovelies, had a scan today and wanted to update on here in case anyone ends up having the same issue. My actual scan is booked for Friday but I’d been having pains in my left side so wanted to scan early to see if everything was ok…and it was! Except I have five cysts on my left ovary which is causing the pain. I know it won’t be the same for everyone but the sonographer did say it’s reasonably common so just wanted to bring it up on here in case anyone else gets stomach pains and immediately jumps to the worst case scenario like I did!

@daisyjones03 thank you for sharing, I am also having pains somewhere around my left ovary in fact, I was thinking that this could be a cyst. It is on an off, but I am getting those pretty much every day, maybe 5 minutes during the day and then couple of minutes in the evening x I have my private scan next Sunday, since the ivf clinic booked me for 11th of March which is really long time to wait.

@Elena3 sounds the same as mine except recently I’ve had a few days where it’s all day then goes away again. Hope this Sunday brings you some info and peace of mind! X

My friends are now all trying to organize a UK weekend away 3-4 weeks before my 'due date'. 🙈

@OneWaryCat as long as you aren't more than 2.5 hours away I'd say you'll be fine. I drove from west Yorkshire to Newcastle when I was 36 weeks to see friends for the day x

Ohhh, my morning started with vomiting after trying to help my nausea with a small pack of salt and vinegar crisps...😥

hi @OneWaryCat do they know about your ivf/ttc? You could say ‘I’d love to come but don’t know where we will be in our journey so you all book it and I’ll book closer to the time when I know more? Or just literally say ‘I’d love to come but we have loads on this year,go ahead and book and I’ll book on closer to the time if I can?’

I was absolutely fine after 12 weeks with my son,but for this one I’m feeling very precious and won’t be booking anything unless it’s last min and it’s something I defo want to do/feel up to!

@Cosyseason1234 I am, but I work from home always, which is a blessing. These ladies who have to commute to work with morning sickness are heroes! x

i have been keeping crackers next to my bed and it seems to be helping! I’m back at work on Wednesday but will see how I feel xx

Hi all, my OTD is today so I can now officially join this thread! I have spent the last few days in limbo because my tests lines were faint, but I have just realised that my FMU must be very diluted because when I test later in the day I get darker lines. It makes sense because usually when I wake up my blader is about to explode.

Due date would be 24th of Oct and viability scan is on the 17th of March!

This was our second round of IVF, my first round ended up with a MMC at 10 weeks so I am a bit on edge to say the least. The second round only produced one embryo which is the one I am currently pregnant with, so I am really grateful that the only embryo stuck!

It’s a good thing we are going on vacation for 3 weeks so that it will keep me distracted and I can have the viability scan when I come back!
