Hi all I thought I would create a thread for our BFPs after IVF.

A bit about me: 34 years old (35 next month)
2x failed transfers and 1x failed to thaw
BFP with this little blub. Scan date 7th of February (will be 6wks1day)🎊
Here's to continuous panicking 🤪

Hi @Sherr33 i am so sorry you are going through this stressful time. I have everything crossed that everything works out for you! A heartbeat is a good sign? Take care of yourself during this ❤️ xxx

roowoop · 13/02/2025 13:12

Welcome @OneWaryCat! Deffo enjoy and celebrate the wins!

@Sherr33 Thats really hard, so sorry youre in this limbo situation. Thinking of you and really hoping for the little one to fight through. ❤

Mseddy · 13/02/2025 16:36

@Sherr33 sorry to hear that. Hopefully you little embaby is just taking his/her sweet time. I've got everything crossed for next week for you.

The nausea has hit me today.

Cosyseason1234 · 13/02/2025 19:51

@Mseddy same! On off nausea and I got into bed at 19:13 this evening 🤣😴

Mseddy · 13/02/2025 20:24

@Cosyseason1234 today is the first day I've actually felt pregnant. My DD had a danger nap at 5pm and I was very tempted to join her!! Unfortunately I had to cook dinner. I'm ready for bed now!

Ginny91 · 13/02/2025 20:53

@daisyjones03 and @OneWaryCat woooo glad to see you both here!

@Sherr33 thinking & praying for your little one 💛

@Elena3 I think I'm in the same boat as you, barely any symptoms and March seems sooo far away.

@Eagerlywaiting1990 & @Purpleflowers17 can you believe that barely only a week has passed since we tested? I actually tested again this morning to make sure I wasn't being crazy but its all good phewph. Hope you're both doing ok ladies xx

Elena3 · 13/02/2025 21:25

@Cosyseason1234 @Mseddy , I am not nauseous yet, but actually 2 days in
a row I have been having exactly 5 pm naps, both lasted around 25 mins :)

@Ginny91 I decided not to wait till March and will go for a scan probably 23rd February, it is just too long to wait. By 23rd I should already be 6 weeks and 4 days, so hopefully they ll be able to see something x I found some places locally (I am in Chelmsford), the price isn't too bad - 75 or 80, if it means a bit of reassurance, I think it is a good price. I just want to know that it is not an ectopic one/miscarriage or other horrors!

Happy galantine’s to all of you strong women! Thank you for being such a source of comfort and reassurance in the minefield that is IVF ❤️

Eagerlywaiting1990 · 14/02/2025 07:57

Awww so true @Cosyseason1234 . This journey is not for the faint hearted. It has been lovely to have you guys to keep me sane.
On the theme of valentines day.. have any of you guys braved the art of love making? 😂 I've told my husband after the viability scan but don't know if I'm being dramatic xxx

Mseddy · 14/02/2025 08:51

@Eagerlywaiting1990 we are waiting for the scan too

OneWaryCat · 14/02/2025 09:23

@Mseddy @Eagerlywaiting1990 - I find it so weird that I am pregnant but we haven't actually had sex in 2025 yet!

Maybe after viability scan. I'm too bloated and uncomfortable at the moment. Don't feel very attractive or relaxed. Hope it happens though. It's very important to me but less so to my DH. And I don't just want to feel like some 'baby making machine'.

Elena3 · 14/02/2025 09:47

@Eagerlywaiting1990 , @Mseddy , @OneWaryCat also waiting for a viability scan before doing anything :)

Ginny91 · 14/02/2025 10:13

@Eagerlywaiting1990 thanks for asking this question! I asked the nurse the other day if I was allowed now and felt so awkward. Tbh I would like to with my bf this weekend but am most conscious of the pessaries, doesn't exactly make me feel attractive either..

Feelingmindful · 14/02/2025 10:32

@Sherr33 I’m so sorry, that must be so difficult. The last weekhas shown you have a little soldier in side of you. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

@Elena3 my first scan was at 6weeks 1 day so you should hopefully see something in the scan by the 23rd Feb

OneWaryCat · 14/02/2025 11:06

Is anyone else looking huge and bloated? I'm only 1 day past OTD and in the last 48 hours I feel like my whole belly has distended become really hard. I'm not in pain, but I feel uncomfortable. I know the cycolgest is making me constipated too so dealing with that with prunes etc.

Just wondered if this is normal or if I need to call the clinic. My DH is a bit worried. It does seem to suggest online that it is a normal symptom and its bloating and the digestive system slowing down due to progesterone. I was at risk of OHSS but clinic said I didn't have it pre fresh transfer.

Any advice? If I saw myself I'd think 'that woman is pregnant' but clearly my embaby is still the size of a poppyseed.....

Purpleflowers17 · 14/02/2025 11:17

@OneWaryCat that was exactly what I said to my DH last night. Not even done the business in 2025 and pregnant if only been that easy for last few years 😂 My bloating comes and goes but sometimes I think it’s just I am getting used to feeling like a balloon. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I’m defo keeping him at arms distance until after the scan! Although I think he is climbing the walls he will get over it 😅

daisyjones03 · 14/02/2025 11:40

@OneWaryCat I’m exactly the same! The cyclogest has made me super bloated, constipated and looking as though I’m already several months pregnant! not ideal for Valentine’s Day haha

annoyingly my stomach pains on my left side have gotten worse so I’ve called my clinic to see if I can get an early scan and waiting to hear back. Not meant to go in until next Friday but I’m 6+2 today and when I last tested my hcg it was almost 23,000 so I’m hoping they agree to see me early.

Elena3 · 14/02/2025 12:01

@OneWaryCat I was extremely bloated after egg collection, my belly looked as if I somehwere in my 2nd trimester! I don't want to sound like I am bragging, but I normally have defined abs! I did have OHHS though, all symptoms, but didn't go to the clinic, just sufferred at home 🤐My belly was so hard and bloated that I could hardly walk for a couple of days. I had frozen transfer though, because they kinda expected me to have some mild ohhs.

At the moment (5 weeks and 2 days pregnant) I am not really bloated, but my weight fluctuates...Before I started IVF I was 56 kg (8.8 stones) during summer, this morning I am 60kg, (9.4 stones) which is a lot for me as I am only 162cm (5 feet 4 inches?) I am a bit worried, because 4 kg gain since the beginning of the process is not a joke. Yes, I do move way less, but I am really trying not to overeat and be very aware of what I am eating. I don't know...I have read that this might be progesterone, so I am hoping that at least once I am off progesterone and oeastradiol I will stop gaining at least? Those numbers on the scales really affect my mood...

I so relate to this I mean I never had abs 🤣 but I most definitely didn't have a belly which i do now. I started my ivf journey last January. I started off weighed 58kg and now currently I'm at 65kg if not more (haven't weighed myself this month tbh) but it's not the number on the scales that bothers me. It's what the changes I can see and how different my clothes fit now. I still haven't accepted it and it makes me feel so insecure sometimes. I've not been active last 4-5months but even when I was i still wasn't happy. And I know it's because of ivf and everything but it's so hard to accept the changes. I'm also 5ft4. There is so much we have ti go through :-(

@Sherr33 It is really hard, isn't it... x Last week I did some 1st trimester workouts which I found on youtube, but even doing those I know that it is not going to help me win much against this hormonal storm. It is the same when I was on contraceptive pill, from 56 kg I reached my max weight - 62, and it was really difficult to get back to how I was, only after I stopped taking the pill, some months after weight started going down. It annoys me so much when health professionals say that 'hormones dont really make you gain weight, but they might increase your appetite etc'. And at the moment it is also not the great time to go into a proper calorie deficit...

HopefulSibling · 14/02/2025 14:38

Hi all,

My first post on here 😊

I’m currently 6+1
DD 9th October
Viability 24th Feb

We had NHS ICSI egg collection 2017, fresh transfer failed, first frozen transfer gave us our son in Nov 2018. Two failed frozen transfers in 2021… 3 years of differing opinions and trying to rebuild our marriage/family of 3, last year we decided that we couldn’t leave our 3 Frosties without giving them a chance… I’m 40 in September so decided to throw everything into it.

First embryo didn’t thaw on transfer day, so second embryo used… leaving one in the freezer!

I’ve read through all the posts on this thread - amazing to see so many of us on the same journey. Best of luck to all xx

Hopefullyonedaysoon · 14/02/2025 14:45

@Sherr33 sorry to hear you're having a rough time. I can relate, have had spotting since Monday ranging from pink, to bright red, to brown. Ended up going to the EPU yesterday and had a scan to see what was going on, saw baby and a lovely heartbeat which was reassuring. Sonographer thinks maybe it's the implantation site bleeding as she could see it next to the little bean. Said to expect more bleeding but still feel absolutely terrified every time I see any 😔

Mseddy · 14/02/2025 15:11

Welcome @HopefulSibling :) sounds like you've been through it! Glad you've finally got your BFP

Cosyseason1234 · 14/02/2025 16:12

Welcome @HopefulSibling ☺️

@Hopefullyonedaysoon so pleased that EPU scanned you and you saw a little heartbeat 🥹❤️ completely understand the anxiety when you see the spotting,I was a mess last weekend. Hopefully you can draw some reassurance from the scan and have a peaceful weekend xx
