@OneWaryCat oh fab no more messiness 😅 I'll be on mine for good while I imagine but I don't mind, as long as it's get me to the finish line 😆

Elena3 · 07/03/2025 12:49

@OneWaryCat congratulations on being discharged :) x
@Waitingformystork thanks for sharing! x

I am finally starting to feel like a human again, I had very rough 3 days. At some point I was sick every 40 minutes with the longest break 2 hours in between. Luckily, I got the same day appointment with a GP on Wednesday, I told her that cyclizine didn't help,so she prescribed prochlorperazine which worked immediately and was a massive relief x

Waitingformystork · 07/03/2025 13:01

I got discharged on Wednesday from the ivf clinic, and I have a follow up appointment with my GP next Monday. We have both sets of parents visiting this weekend, so we're going to tell them then.

@Elena3 I'm glad you found some relief! How far along were you when the worst symptoms hit?

Thatslifethatsit · 07/03/2025 19:04

Hope it’s ok to join am due end of September
have 1 little one from IVF very blessed this is my second
I’m an old mum at 38 😂 (well I feel old and knackered)

Elena3 · 07/03/2025 19:17

welcome, @Thatslifethatsit x

@Waitingformystork sounds so amazing to announce it to both sets of parents at the same times and also face to face! x My in -laws live in Greece and father is in Latvia (only my mom is here :)), so for us most of the announcements were via Whatsapp.
As per my symptoms - i had nausea/throwing up episodes during week 6, there was a day when I was sick 4 times, but then it was all completely gone, the most terrible outbreak started at 7 weeks 6 days. I did read that 8-10 weeks are allegedly the worst ones x

HopefulSibling · 10/03/2025 10:33

Another week gone! Are weeks going slowly or fast for you?! I'll be 10 weeks on Thursday.. which feels slow, but then I reminded myself that's a quarter of the way through already!

How are everyones symptoms? I've had a bit of a dull ache in my lower back the last 24 hours... not sure if it's related or not. Horrible that a lot of pregnancy symptoms mimic period symptoms, isn't it?!

My midwife booking appt went well last week (I forgot how much paperwork is involved!) so now I'm just (impatiently!) waiting for a date for my 12 week scan and also my first consultant appt, as I'm going to be shared care.

Hope everyone is well and been enjoying the sunshine! x

Daniki · 10/03/2025 10:44

@HopefulSibling oh wow 10 weeks! 🥰 that's great! Il be 8 on wed, I have another scan this Friday 🙏 I know I hate that the symptoms are so similar I have to keep reminding myself that twinges etc are all normal in early pregnant and not impending doom and gloom 🤣🙈 I had one tiny speck of spotting yest, didn't spiral so I'm pleased with myself! Weather is gorgeous which really helps 🙌🏻 nausea is kicking in a bit with me, it's an under current can constantly feel it's there so snacking away to keep it at bay.

Thatslifethatsit · 10/03/2025 13:46

@HopefulSibling weeks we’re definitely going slow in feb I was also laid up for 3 weeks with chest, sinus and ear infections they tonsillitis. Feeling so much better and like we are roaring into spring now the warm weather definitely helps. 12 week scan this week!
@Daniki hard to not worry so definitely be pleased with yourself

HopefulSibling · 12/03/2025 09:12

Sorry to hear you've been poorly @Thatslifethatsit but glad you're out the other side of it now!

Bet you're looking forward to your scan on Friday @Daniki - is that with your clinic still?

How did you GP appointment go @Waitingformystork ?

Is the new medicine still keeping sickness at bay @Elena3 ? Hope so!

I finally have my 12 week scan date on 31st March, at which point I'll be 12+4 by my dates.

Had test results back from midwife booking appt yesterday - bloods all fine, but my urine sample had E.coli in it...! Cue panic after Dr Google'ing... mdiwife said it could be a contaminated sample so I need to re-test today.. but has anyone experienced this?

Daniki · 12/03/2025 09:21

@HopefulSibling hopefully a contaminated sample, do you feel sick at all? I had an ecoli infection before when I was in hosp and I was so sick with it so I'd imagine you would have some symptoms! So my scan is with the recurrent miscarriage clinic, I think they can every week or every 2 weeks! If it's a positive scan I would push for every 2 weeks than every week I think mentally be better for me! I'm very nauseas today, 8 weeks today, so wondering is it all kicking in!

HopefulSibling · 12/03/2025 09:27

Ahh that's great that you're being closely monitored @Daniki the reality hits a bit when the nausea hits, doesn't it?! The only time in your life you hope to feel sick!

Yeah I was reading symptoms of E.coli can be D&V, dehydration, fatigue etc.. I've def had the fatigue, nausea and find myself thirstier than normal - but I thought they were just normal early pregnancy symptoms?! Not had any physical D&V though.

I had sepsis in labour with my son in 2018, so any news of a bacterial infection fills me with anxiety! Hopefully results from the resample wont take long, and if they still come back with traces, they get me on antibiotics ASAP!

Elena3 · 12/03/2025 10:12

@HopefulSibling Oh, let's hope it is just contaminated sample which is very possible! Did they say how long to wait for the results approximately?x
As per meds, I took them from Wednesday night till Saturday morning and then stopped, had nothing so far, thanks God, so don't know whether it just stopped on its own, but pills worked wonders, so very lucky xx

@Daniki 8 weeks was the time when morning sickness hit me hardest so far, stay strong x

I had my last scan with the IVF clinic yesterday - everything is developing nicely and we saw the heartbeat, which was amazing! I am 9 weeks today.

I asked the doctor to reduce/stop progynova again, so waiting for their phone call. I am really unhappy with the local midwives - I still haven't heard from them about my booking appointment, I tried to ring them up twice, the line cuts off, raised it twice in that Online chat system with midwives and also sent an email to the address I was given. Nothing has been done to actually book it and everyone is just fobbing me off elsewhere. I gave up on it, I cannot be chasing them up all day every day. I received a letter about my dating scan 27th March, I guess I will just have to come there and explain what happened. Very dissatisfied :(

Hopefullyonedaysoon · 12/03/2025 12:32

@HopefulSibling e.coli lives in humans as standard but can get out of hand and travel into urinary tract, if it's in your urine and not a contaminated sample then most likely a UTI starting. My understanding is that vomiting and diarrhea from e coli would be if you had ingested it. Try not to worry (easier said than done I know!) they'll likely just give you antibiotics for a UTI

HopefulSibling · 12/03/2025 13:01

Glad you're feeling better @Elena3 - my first question this afternoon will be how long for the results!

Ahh thank you @Hopefullyonedaysoon that's really helpful information. I can handle a UTI... E.coli just sounds awful!

I told my lovely fertility team about that, and the fact my husband is unable to make our 12 week scan date, and they've offered another scan in clinic next Monday - so that should help with my worries!

Daniki · 12/03/2025 14:23

@HopefulSibling yep I actually don't mind the sickness that much gives me so reassurance 🤣Jesus sepsis, how scary!! Those are normal symptoms tho with pregnancy, I remember I couldn't stop getting temperatures and they were knocking me for six I would be delirious in the bed 🙈 so really hoping it's just a dodgy sample in your case 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@Elena3 hoping I don't get too bad but like the reassurance of not all the same, what are we like! Altho I'm not on your scale, you defo sound like you have HG 🥺 it's a wonder they haven't stopped you, I had my clinic scan last Thursday and she told me to finish my estrogen yest! I took it this morning not thinking but that's me now. 🙌🏻 kinda scared too as last time i stopped I miscarried a few days later but deep down I don't think it's related 🤣

Elena3 · 12/03/2025 16:04

@Daniki , to be honest even though I had it pretty bad during week 8 it lasted around 2 days when i had severe sickness and 2 days to recover from it. The pills worked wonders and I also got seen the same day, so keep it in mind that even in the worst case scenario there are solutions xx I only took pills from Wednesday to Saturday morning and this week only have very mild nausea.

My breasts are becoming very uncomfortable at night. I am C cup, so the size doesn't help. I was considering to get maternity bra for support to sleep at night, but those have some attachments for nursing etc, I think at the moment sports bra works just fine and giving enough support. Got my anti stretch marks oil also, for prevention purposes x

Daniki · 12/03/2025 16:16

@Elena3 great to have something that works! Oh defo get the maternity bras, so comfy I still wear mine from having my son 4 years ago 🤣 x

Daniki · 14/03/2025 09:47

Had a scan this morning and measuring correctly and strong heartbeat. Slight panic as took her ages to find the baby until she asked me do I have a tilted uterus and i said yes 😆 back in 2 weeks for another one when I will be 10&2 all going well. Hope everyone is doing ok ❤️

OneWaryCat · 14/03/2025 09:54

When I had my scan last week my consultant said 'hmmmm', as the start, which obviously freaked me out for about 30 seconds until she found the baby. My husband said it was worse as he could see the screen and nothing on it.

Wish they wouldn't do that!

Scoobywho24 · 14/03/2025 12:54

I’m currently waiting for a second opinion scan as my 7 week on Monday showed a heart rate of 115 which they said was fine but through lots of googling have found it’s quite low for where I’m at. Hoping that it has increased 😓

Daniki · 14/03/2025 13:07

@OneWaryCatomg I know! My husband was behind the curtain when this was all happening and he said his heart was in his mouth but also like where could it of gone we seen it last week 🤣 the tech was sitting on the bed with my my knee bent on top of her to get a look I was like what is going on 🙈🤣

@Scoobywho24i wouldn’t worry about that the nurse told me last week they always want to see it over 110 🙌🏻 but im glad you’re getting another scan as you won’t relax either way! X

Scoobywho24 · 14/03/2025 13:55

It’s up to 126bpm which is enough to make me sleep for the next week 🤣 oh god what can I think of to worry about now 🫣😂 xx

Daniki · 14/03/2025 14:21

@Scoobywho24there will always be something! With my last FET I fretted over everything, googling the CRL size, heartbeat etc and it was just a terrible few weeks I was so anxious I was close to going to the GP and getting script for antidepressants 🙈 this time round I’m not letting myself google, and really trying not to focus on it at all and it’s serving me way better I’m no where near as anxious as I was! I’m lucky iv been scanned every week at 6,7,8 weeks tho. I hope you can relax a bit now, all is looking good! Miscarriage rates defo go down after seeing a heartbeat 💓 😌 xx

OneWaryCat · 14/03/2025 14:29

I read on a recent miscarriage calculator that chances of miscarrying now (at 8 weeks) are only 5% and we are much more likely to take pregnancy to full term, than any alternative. That made me feel more reassured and that its a bit more robust.

Daniki · 14/03/2025 16:55

@OneWaryCatyes we just have to believe we are the 95% 🙌🏻
