Hi all I thought I would create a thread for our BFPs after IVF.

A bit about me: 34 years old (35 next month)
2x failed transfers and 1x failed to thaw
BFP with this little blub. Scan date 7th of February (will be 6wks1day)🎊
Here's to continuous panicking 🤪

@Lauralozzle I have thyroid issues too, I got a blood test a day or so before I was due to do my pregnancy test, as soon as I got my positive I told the clinic my results and they advised me to increase. I then booked another blood test via my GP 4 weeks later and shared my results with the clinic.

Honestly I've found so far I need to be on top of my thyroid monitoring myself and just advise the clinic of my results, GP is next to useless and has been with my thyroid from day 1. I had my booking in today and my midwife will now manage this with the hospital.

Guys I need you to talk me down from the ledge. I'm having a bit of a freak out today. The viability scan is next Thursday. Absolutely nothing has changed, but today I feel like I can't bear the wait anymore. I am so stressed and anxious. My mind is racing and I keep having negative thoughts and thinking I'm going to get there and it be bad news.

I went to a calm yoga earlier session earlier but couldn't 'switch off' and felt my mind just going to conversations in my head with people.

Really want to call my mum and just cry but I haven't told her yet. I want to tell her next week, hopefully after a good scan result, but feel I am cracking up a bit today.

I've been doing so well up until now, but this last push to viability scan and keeping it all in is starting to drive me crazy.

Now starting to worry that my limited symptoms are not 'enough', and I should be feeling more pregnant.

Anyway, sorry for rant. Trying to listen to some calming music and will start prepping dinner as a distraction but today has just been a bit of a write off and I've got a bit of a stress headache.

Daniki · 28/02/2025 19:30

@Lauralozzle that's really bad form of your GP I think, and I agree with @Hopefullyonedaysoon I have to monitor a lot of stuff myself and go between doctors! The last pregnancy I was racing around to get another script of steroids as my miscarriage consultant was off on hols and my GP wasn't comfortable with prescribing it.

@OneWaryCat it's totally normal what you're feeling, because unlike the lucky population who just get pregnant and have no anxieties and just feel pure joy, we have been through the ringer to get to this point and we need to know all is ok. Don't worry about symptoms you're still early and some people don't get symptoms-I never really get bar the odd sore boob and maybe nausea on and off but very rare! Would a private scan be something you could do tomorrow to try and take the pressure off you mentally? X

Elena3 · 28/02/2025 20:41

@OneWaryCat I would also highly recommend to book a private scan as soon as possible...Yes, they are costly, but if you are feeling this way they are absolutely worth it if it give you peace of mind..! x

YellowTack · 28/02/2025 21:02

@InGodsHands I don’t have many symptoms yet which worries me a little, I was waiting for the bigger boobs because they for sure had already grown at this stage during my last pregnancy! I took another test this morning just to make sure I am still pregnant!

@Bailey92 we are DD twins! I also had my transfer on the 5th of Feb.

@Daniki I am so glad to see you on this thread after we both were on the September thread last year!

Daniki · 28/02/2025 21:04

@YellowTack thank you, I hope we both get a happier outcome this time round 🙏🙏🤞🏻

Lauralozzle · 28/02/2025 21:11

@Hopefullyonedaysoon @Daniki I’ve tried to move my blood test forward, but nothing available. I’ll keep an eye out to see if there are any cancellations. I’m pretty disappointed with the GP - I just wanted to know if I should increase after the blood test and by how much. I think you’re right, I’ll have to try and monitor it myself. I was trying to be proactive. GPS really can be pretty useless sometimes!

It’s good to know your midwife has managed it since your booking appointment with the hospital @Hopefullyonedaysoon. Luckily, I have enough 5mg Folic Acid to take me up to the booking appointment so I’ll hopefully get a prescription for that then (currently using a private prescription but if I can get it free with my medical exemption…)

@OneWaryCat I think what you’re feeling is completely normal! If you’re worried though and have the funds, a private scan might be an idea. I don’t think you can read too much into symptoms- my sister didn’t get morning sickness with her two. I know I’m at an earlier stage than you, but my ‘symptoms’ come and go. I’ve done a lot of doom scrolling this week since finding out and what I’ve realised is that the first trimester is a total mind fuck.

OneWaryCat · 28/02/2025 22:17

Thanks everyone. I've just booked a private scan for tomorrow afternoon. I think I need peace of mind and if not, I just need to know now rather than wait another 6 days.

daisyjones03 · 28/02/2025 23:51

@OneWaryCat sorry to hear you’re having a hard time but completely understand as I’ve been much the same. I think confiding in your mum even if it’s early isn’t necessarily a bad thing so if you need to call her and speak to her about it you should! Do whatever you can to make you life easier at the moment. I’ll have all my fingers crossed for you for your scan tomorrow, hope it brings you some peace of mind xxx

Daniki · 01/03/2025 03:35

@OneWaryCat Great, I hope you can some reassurance tomorrow 🤞🏻 we think the TWW is bad, the first trimester is way worse it feels like a lifetime!!

InGodsHands · 01/03/2025 08:51

@YellowTack It’s still really early to experience symptoms. They are fleeting at best. Hopefully you’re one of the lucky ones that just breeze through.

@OneWaryCat Good luck with your scan! I know this will give you some reassurance but like someone said, if you think it will make you feel better, tell mom for sure x

OneWaryCat · 01/03/2025 16:14

Thanks to everyone who told me to go get a private scan. Sitting in the pub celebrating with a big pint of lime and soda. Everything is fine, measuring 6+2 and has a strong heartbeat. Phew! Best £80 I've ever spent. Now we can have a lovely weekend instead of me freaking out. Love to you all xx

Daniki · 01/03/2025 16:21

@OneWaryCat aw I'm delighted for you! Enjoy your weekend now 🥰🥰

Char9101 · 01/03/2025 17:30

Hello I might be too late to join this thread but just looking for advice from anyone going through the same. I feel like an absolute failure as I had FET on 24th so I’m only 5DP5DT and I gave in and tested after reading so many people getting positives on day 5. Hubby says it’s still early and it doesn’t rule us out but can’t help think there would be a faint line if it had worked. Anyone got any words of wisdom or had a similar experience! Please no judgement for testing early im just a very anxious person and this time it got too much and I caved :(

Lauralozzle · 01/03/2025 18:07

@OneWaryCat Thats excellent news!!! I’m so pleased for you!!

@Char9101 I think it’s probably a bit early at 5dp5dt. No judgement at all for early testing, but I’d put them away for a day or so. I think it’s much more likely to be an accurate result at 9dp5dt and that is still 4 days before my OTD! It is still pretty early. I know how hard the 2WW is, just take each day at a time.

Daniki · 01/03/2025 18:12

@Char9101 defo not out, a lady in my FB ivf group only got a vvvvfl on 8dp and she's over 30 weeks now! I'd leave it a few days and test again then 🥰

Char9101 · 01/03/2025 18:21

@Daniki and @Lauralozzle thanks so much for replying. Feel like I’m going insane and also so annoyed at myself for testing so early. We’re incredibly lucky to have a little boy from our first round in 2020 so I can’t help think that miracles don’t happen twice! I need to somehow forget I’ve tested and try again in a few days or just hang on now till OTD!

Daniki · 01/03/2025 18:45

@Char9101 ah sure it's so hard not test, like I was the exact same come 4dp I couldn't resist anymore but the anxiety I had then the whole time until beta I was having a chemical, wasn't worth it 🙈 hopefully you get a positive now in a few days 🤞🏻🙏

Char9101 · 01/03/2025 18:51

@Daniki did you get a positive on day 4? That’s amazing!

Daniki · 01/03/2025 18:55

@Char9101 I got an absolute squinter that eve of 4dp. I found I hadn't massive progression over the week and then when I had my beta on 11dp, it was only 54.4 and they want it over 150 🙈 so iv been panicking so much but had a scan test and thankfully all seems ok but in future i think il try and hold out on testing to save myself the initial anxiety

Char9101 · 01/03/2025 19:06

@Daniki a huge congratulations! Amazing news! So glad your scan went well I’ll keep everything crossed going forward :)

Daniki · 01/03/2025 19:11

@Char9101 thank you! 🙏 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Elena3 · 01/03/2025 21:11

@OneWaryCat I am so happy for your scan x

I have so much bloating and I don't understand why, probably progesterone? My lower belly looks like 5 months pregnant in the afternoon-evening for the last 3 days. I don't even eat big portions and did 6k steps both days...

Daniki · 01/03/2025 22:15

@Elena3 defo hormones, I have the same bloated feeling it's horrible!

Lauralozzle · 02/03/2025 11:32

@Elena3 I’m very bloated, it’s worse in the evenings. I’ve found the progesterone pessaries also cause constipation which doesn’t help on the bloating front either.
