Hi all I thought I would create a thread for our BFPs after IVF.

A bit about me: 34 years old (35 next month)
2x failed transfers and 1x failed to thaw
BFP with this little blub. Scan date 7th of February (will be 6wks1day)🎊
Here's to continuous panicking 🤪

Good luck everyone with scans tomorrow. I can't wait for mine... feels like forever still.

I have been exhausted today. I did have a late night with friends celebrating a 40th but then today I just slept and slept and couldn't shake it off. Have had to get DH to do everything.

Hoping I have the energy to get myself into the office tomorrow!

Elena3 · 23/02/2025 19:34

@Eagerlywaiting1990 will be thinking about you tomorrow x
Yes, my husband got me some blue isotonic drink and tries to convince me to have it next time I have the outbreak, I can almost see myself puking bright blue, really sorry that it sounds gross 😅 Dry and plain diet sounds like a bliss. I did manage to cook Greek lentil soup for dinner, better to get at least some nutrients while I can!xx

daisyjones03 · 23/02/2025 19:46

@Cosyseason1234 i had completely the same with the symptoms disappearing, think it might be our minds playing tricks with us / the nerves for the scan taking over! In any case it has all come well and truly back so as hard it is please don’t let the no symptoms worry you at all for now! Good luck on Wednesday! Xx

daisyjones03 · 23/02/2025 19:48

@Elena3 amazing news re the scan! Sorry to hear about how sick you’ve been feeling. My nauseas been severe the last few days too and constant grazing seems to be the only thing doing the trick. Feel like a farm animal! I hope you feel better soon x

Cosyseason1234 · 23/02/2025 19:57

@Eagerlywaiting1990 dry carby diet is exactly what it is! I’ve even started sleeping with a packet of shortbread biscuits by my bed in case I require a midnight snack 🤣 good luck for your scan tomorrow xx

@OneWaryCat you did very well to go out for a 40th! I have been very much off the social agenda recently, migraine and flu have been the excuses so far 😂 xx

@daisyjones03 thanks so much for this, it’s given me some reassurance ❤️ xx trying to train my brain to be less jumping to worse case scenarios,we have all beaten the odds IVF even being successful and now we are pregnant things are alot more likely to go right than go wrong! Xx

cleggrickman · 23/02/2025 20:06

@Cosyseason1234 I'm doing as well as can be. This week I've been dead on my feet with fatigue and sickness! Very surprised to be awake at this time 🤣 yes I had my scan last Monday 6+1. We were greeted with twins so I've been so overwhelmed this week. I have a scan with the clinic and the hospital multiple pregnancy on the 10th now.

I hope your scan is just how it's meant to be just to breathe a little relief! Not long to go and at that stage you will see a lot more too which is exciting! I do think the medication makes me feel worst too. I remember this with DD and like you at 12 week feeling like a new person. However that's also when I stopped my meds 🤷🏾‍♀️

Cosyseason1234 · 23/02/2025 21:07

Oh my god @cleggrickman congratulations!!! I bet you nearly fell off the bed at the scan 😂 it’s completely understandable that you have felt overwhelmed ever since,IVF really is a crazy emotional rollercoaster isn’t it. Hope you are ok though and are getting your head around it abit now xx thanks for the well wishes,I will update on wed and fingers crossed all ok! Xx

OneWaryCat · 23/02/2025 22:07

Wow, thats amazing @cleggrickman - congrats! Did you have two embryos transferred or did one devide? That's super exciting. Xx

cleggrickman · 24/02/2025 07:04

OneWaryCat · 23/02/2025 22:07

Wow, thats amazing @cleggrickman - congrats! Did you have two embryos transferred or did one devide? That's super exciting. Xx

We had 2 embryos put back due to 2 failed attempts. What are the chances they both then stick. It's been a week since we've been told and my head hasn't fully taken it in. Very much head in the sand at the moment! I think because forums for twins and so negative too I'm so overwhelmed atm xx

HopefulSibling · 24/02/2025 10:59

What time is your scan @Eagerlywaiting1990 ? Hope it went/goes well!

I am on the 2 hour countdown now.. don't know if I feel sick from nausea or from nerves!

Congratulations @cleggrickman - that must be a lot to take in! Hope you're feeling ok?

That's so true @Cosyseason1234 - I also need to try and remind myself that we've got this far... urgh, it's tough though!

Elena3 · 24/02/2025 16:44

@daisyjones03 thank you x Yes, I also feel like a grazing animal in the afternoon :D (Once I am able to graze)

@cleggrickman massive congratulations..! x

@Eagerlywaiting1990 waiting to hear how your scan went x

I am much better today. I have been very nauseous in the morning, but did not actually throw up, and even went for coffee with my husband during my lunch break - my first coffee since Friday actually. Feeling really energetic and productive and caught up with many things and emails today. I think the fact that the weather finally improved also helped a lot - sunny and some blue sky for a change.

I emailed both the IVF clinic and the midwifes regarding cyclizine, and both gave me a green light and told me to ask my gp to prescribe it, thank you @Cosyseason1234 for recommending. I didn't bother with booking NHS appointment, getting prescription and then going to the pharmacy, I work full time, so just ordered from some pharmacy online after filling in some questionnaire, 24 hours tracked delivery. It is absolutely harmless from what I have read, so should be all fine. My mood also improved so much knowing that I can at least have some relief from this severe sickness.

HopefulSibling · 24/02/2025 19:09

SO relieved to say my scan went well today.. measuring 7+4.

Bittersweet being discharged from fertility, they’ve been a part of us for 7.5 years!

Am I okay to join the WhatsApp group now I’ve made it over this mark?

Hope everyone has had a good day.. we’re another day closer to having babes in arms ✨

Elena3 · 24/02/2025 19:14

Yayy @HopefulSibling , awesome news! x

daisyjones03 · 24/02/2025 19:31

@HopefulSibling congrats, amazing news! X

Hopefullyonedaysoon · 24/02/2025 20:00

Thank you ladies for all the responses regarding the measurements at last scan, we had our follow up scan at the clinic today and all looking good, 8+1 today and baby has over doubled in size in the last week and heartbeat good and strong, Dr was happy. Feeling a bit better now and will be seeing the midwife this week.

@HopefulSibling so glad yours was all good ❤️

@cleggrickman so happy for you with your twins! Amazing news!

@Elena3 I feel you on the nausea it's been horrendous!

Eagerlywaiting1990 · 24/02/2025 20:38

Hi Ladies,
Apologies for the delay. Had a lovely scan with a gorgeous heartbeat. Balled my eyes out 🤣. Cannot believe it, we're on cloud 9!
Totally get the bitter sweet feeling of being discharged by our clinics though. They've insisted I come back with my baby though and I fully intend to do that 🥰 xxx

YellowTack · 24/02/2025 20:45

It’s so lovely hearing great news about your scans @Eagerlywaiting1990 @Hopefullyonedaysoon @HopefulSibling!

Is anyone else still waiting for their scan? Mine is on the 17th of March which seems years away! It’s partly my fault because I am away the week they typically do the viability scan so I will have mine at 8 + 3 weeks.

InGodsHands · 25/02/2025 07:43

@YellowTack My scans on 14th March and I’ll be 7+ 2 days

I’m holding back from doing any private scans so will definitely feel like 2628 days. Good luck with the wait 😭

YellowTack · 25/02/2025 08:43

@InGodsHands good to know I am not the only one from this thread still waiting for a scan!

I also thought about potentially doing a private scan but decided against it in the end because if something doesn’t seem normal it will stress me out! I think I am still traumatised from my last cycle that ended in a MMC where the first sign was the embryo measuring too small at the viability scan. I am in my happy bubble at the moment and want to stay in it.

Good luck with the wait for you too!

FrostedFlake · 25/02/2025 08:58

I have my scan today and will be 8 weeks tomorrow. It’s been the longest wait ever!

is the first one internal or a belly scan? I can’t remember 😩

how’s everyone feeling today?

Elena3 · 25/02/2025 10:13

@FrostedFlake mine was a belly scan, but it does say that sometimes they have to switch to the internal one x

Surprisingly and luckily I have 0 nausea today, feeling so much better!

InGodsHands · 25/02/2025 10:19

Exactly that @YellowTack I wanted to do an earlier one because my OH will be away skiing the week of our scan but I’m just going to brave it on my own as I still haven’t told anyone.

Have you had any pregnancy symptoms or anything? My boobs have been really full since taking cyclogest and when I wake up I feel like I’ve had a few glasses of wine 😂

FrostedFlake · 25/02/2025 11:11

Unfortunately it’s very sad news for us. Small sack but no baby 💔
they think it might be another chemical pregnancy as I still had a positive test on Sunday and my gp confirmed it last week too.
im going to leave the group but wishing you all the best throughout your pregnancy and I’ll be thinking of you in October ❤️❤️❤️

Elena3 · 25/02/2025 11:33

@FrostedFlake I am so sorry for your news, it is very sad indeed! Please don't lose hope xx

daisyjones03 · 25/02/2025 12:06

@FrostedFlake im heartbroken for you and so so sorry you’ve gone through this. Take some time for yourself now and try keep the hope xxx
