Hi just wanted to ask if anyone is in similar position and tested positive recently.
I'm 5 weeks tomorrow via our 3rd IVF icsi cycle and can't believe it's happening..
I'm pinching myself every day since BFP!
We did try 7 years and i never thought i ever be able to say "I'm pregnant "

My symptoms now are feeling a bit sick and just trying to take things easy.
This wait for first scan seems like it's ages away!

Morning! Hope everyone had a good weekend!

We had a private scan yesterday at 16w2d and found out we're having a little boy.
We had a family barbecue yesterday so we've shared the news now with both sides of the family.

We were planning to wait until the 20 week scan but decided to stop being overly cautious and try to enjoy it now.

Everything looked good on the private scan so that gave us some comfort. Obviously nowhere near as in-depth as the 20 week one will be but we're trying to stop being terrified all the time 😁

4 weeks to go until the 20 week scan!

How is everyone getting on?

Jupiteer · 10/07/2023 13:32

@AlisonDanuta your garden party idea sounds lovely... Might do something similar 🙂

@nizo1245 glad your 16w scan went well and you are feeling less anxious! Aww how nice we had the same transfer date, same due date and both having boys 💙 how did your family take the news, bet they are overjoyed!

We have told my parents and a handful of friends but my husband has not told anyone at all! I have been encouraging him to tell his parents but he is still anxious after all we have been through to get here. Planning to tell everyone else after the 20w scan and hoping to keep it off social media until after the birth... All depends on how good other people are at keeping secrets 🙂

AlisonDanuta · 10/07/2023 14:03

Aww @nizo1245 how lovely! Congratulations on having a boy!
It's lovely to have that extra scan in between!
We were over the moon with ours and to see baby move!

We have 2 weeks till our 20 week scan! Can't wait!

We're thinking of putting something out on social media after 20 week scan but before the party. We know that some people may add things online so we would like to do it before they would...

Hopefully 20 week scan will be a confirmation of everything going well 💕

@Jupiteer hope your husband will believe everything is going well and start to embrace it xx

@Jupiteer I wonder if we'll end up with t the same delivery date as well!
Family were really excited for us. Some were a little bit shocked as well. We hadn't told anyone we were doing IVF and I think in our efforts not to be asked about kids we'd kind of made it seem like we had zero interest in having any.

They're all really excited though, just hope everything continues well from this point onwards!

We're also hoping to keep it off social media until he's born. Family were asked not to share anything online so hopefully they stick to it.

@AlisonDanuta exciting that you've only got 2 weeks to go until your 20 week scan!
I feel like that's a major hurdle that we can all hopefully relax a bit after.

AlisonDanuta · 20/07/2023 23:17

How's everyone doing?

Any movement of your babies???
I've felt hiccup for the first time!
I do feel some movements as well..so weird..

My scan is on Tuesday so waiting patiently 🙃

Jupiteer · 24/07/2023 10:35

Hi everyone
Best wishes for your scan tomorrow @AlisonDanuta , please let us know how it goes! Mine is still 2.5weeks away and I can't wait for it to be over... Really hoping to feel a lot calmer after it's done! 🤞
I just turned 18 weeks and have suddenly had an influx of new symptoms
The best one is I am now feeling movements! 4 times in the past week I have felt a small shuffling feeling 🙂 it definitely makes me feel better every time!
The other new symptoms not as good: constipation, heart burn, face full of acne and varicose veins all over my legs! I almost cried when I saw them in the mirror. It is strange that it's all come in the same week but trying to be positive and after all the time I wanted to be pregnant these are minor inconveniences

AlisonDanuta · 26/07/2023 07:03

Hello everyone,

We've had our 20 week scan yesterday,
Baby was moving quite a lot! At some point her legs were completely stretched! So lovely to see!
They have checked most of the vital organs but had an issue with checking the heart, baby was not cooperating! So will get to see her again in 2 weeks time to hopefully confirm all is going well.

I can feel the movements more and more every day! They are at the very bottom of my belly. Half way down from belly button!

@Jupiteer sorry about your symptoms!
Hopefully those will get better!

I've had like a stabbing pain in my stomach for the last 2 weeks on and off.. i was reading and could be uterus stretching.

Hi @AlisonDanuta , so glad your scan went well! It must feel like a weight is lifted from you. Hope you're feeling well?
I'm counting down the days to mine in 1.5weeks. I'm very nervous about it in case there is bad news.... I'm hoping after this hurdle I will feel much better!
We haven't bought anything or told anyone except close family yet, it will be a relief not to have to hold my belly in every time we meet someone 🤣
Hope everyone else is doing well x

Vil · 31/07/2023 13:06

Hi ladies

best of luck @Jupiteer for your upcoming scan !!!

not feeling any movement yet but im only 19 weeks and have a placenta on the front which I know dan delay that

we’ve waited out for the scan to find the gender so we’re v excited for the confirmation, it’s on august 17th feels so long still!

hope you’re all doing well

x

Jupiteer · 07/08/2023 19:50

Hi everyone
I hope you're all good!
I had my 20 week scan today! I'm so pleased to report that baby looks very well with no problems. It was lovely to see him again and got a good view of his cute little face 💕
The only problem is my placenta is totally covering the cervix. I was already worried about the placenta as the papp-a is low which can predict it might not work properly (so far it is ok) but now it's in the wrong position as well! I have to wait 2w to speak to the midwife about it but google is sending me into a spiral of worry about the risk of life threatening haemmorhage.
I was hoping I could relax after this scan but I guess not!!!!
@nizo1245 your scan must be soon? Wishing you the best of luck xxx

nizo1245 · 08/08/2023 18:50

@Jupiteer we had our scan this afternoon. All went well, though a couple of angles were difficult to get because he was lying in an awkward position and kept covering his face with his hand.
Got there in the end though!

They couldn't quite place the edge of the placenta to get the actual position so we have a scan booked at 32 weeks to check that.
Hopefully all turn out ok with yours. Google is full of worst case scenarios. You've made it this far through more than most people have to deal with so fingers crossed all will be ok from here!

Feels like a massive milestone. We've held off on buying things until now, so we're ready to start picking things up now.
Trying to get my head round travel systems at the moment which seems like a minefield.

AlisonDanuta · 08/08/2023 22:08

Ohh and I also had my scan today! It was 22+2 and they were checking the heart as they couldn't see it properly 2 weeks ago.
Thank god it's looking ok but obv they can't give you 100% ... so taking it as all going well.

@Jupiteer glad you could see your baby's face - I'd stay away from google.
Can't be that bad if they left you for 2 weeks! Take it as a positive 🙏
You're that far - nothing can stop you now!

@nizo1245 sounds like a cute baby covering his face! 🥰

Oh I don't even know where to start with prams!
Let us know what you are thinking.. there is so many to choose from!

OP posts:
Jupiteer · 09/08/2023 10:19

Thanks both! It's hard as I want to get excited but also worried about the risks of preterm birth now... Hoping to get past 28 weeks then the chance of all being well will be a lot better. I haven't actually bled yet which is very common with placenta previa so counting myself lucky.
We have started looking at stuff to buy but not actually purchased anything yet. Planning to go into a shop and have a go with some prams / travel systems to see how they work. It's difficult to choose online as there are so many and a vast difference in the prices! I like the cosetto prams I've seen online, but that's just because they have funky patterns... Not sure on the functionality!
Have you guys been thinking of names?
We have just started discussing this week but it's quite difficult to find one we both like! Ideally would like 2 names picked out then see which one the baby suits most when born!

Vil · 17/08/2023 18:44

Hi Ladies,

Just has by 20 week scan and everything went perfectly! Also found out that we are having a baby girl 💗💗💗

So happy but feel like I’ve just had the realisation moment at the same time !!!

Were so excited, doing a little reveal via a birthday cake for my mum with pink sponge this weekend hehehe.

Hope you’re all doing well ❤️

AlisonDanuta · 18/08/2023 13:11

Congratulations @Vil for having a girl 💕

I feel so lucky as I felt movement from 18 week.. and now nearly 24 weeks (in 2 days) and movements are much stronger ☺️

We are also going to have a look at prams! I agree @Jupiteer it is way too many online and we have no idea where to start from.

Hope everything is going well with everyone

OP posts:
Jupiteer · 18/08/2023 16:20

Aww congratulations @Vil ! Your reveal sounds great!
Nice to have a mix of girls and boys on this thread!!!
Hope you are all good and have a lovely weekend xxx

Jupiteer · 04/09/2023 11:36

How is everyone doing?
I'm 24 weeks now and having lots of kicks!
Still haven't bought anything due to the self imposed ban until 28 weeks - this is just due to worry over things going wrong, nothing rational! But working on a list 🙂
Have you guys bought anything you recommend?

AlisonDanuta · 04/09/2023 21:31

Hello @Jupiteer 🥰
Glad everything is going well with you! 24 already 🎉 and you're feeling the kicks!

I'm 26 weeks and my belly is massive all of a sudden!
In the last 2 weeks my baby seem to change to kick I had before to more of a movement.. it's hard to explain 🙈
It is very active and sometimes I get scared when suddenly feel strong movement lol

We've bought a pram! Hard choice! We've didn't know where to start etc so prepare for becoming an expert at some point!

Haven't bought much other stuff but starting to panic a bit as you never know what can happen.
I'll be slowly buying things now so it's not all left for me when I'm struggling in 3rd trimester.
Apparently is good to pack hospital bag at this point.

How is everyone doing ???

OP posts:
Jupiteer · 27/09/2023 18:52

How are you all?
I'm almost 28 weeks... Suddenly it seems it will be December very quickly!!!
Still feeling pretty good, a bit achy and tired but can't complain!
Hope everyone is still doing well 🙂

Vil · 19/10/2023 08:39

Hi ladies how are you all doing

can’t believe we’re in the 3rd trimester and not long now until we meet our babies !

im starting to feel quite tired again and struggling to sleep otherwise ok.

we pretty much ready nursery wise few more bits to get before December!

xx

AlisonDanuta · 19/10/2023 16:34

Hello @Vil and @Jupiteer
Also how are you @nizo1245 ???

We are in 3rd trimester! 🤯
We're working on the nursery - had furniture delivered today and we did flooring as well.

I'm unfortunately suffering very badly with pelvic girdle pain, so even walking is an issue. Physio doesn't help much and I'm counting days till my baby is here!

I'm still pinching myself!!!! Xxx

OP posts:
Jupiteer · 24/10/2023 07:56

Hi guys!
So great to hear from you.
I have been thinking of you all! @AlisonDanuta you must not have too long to go... I think you are due first? Sorry to hear you have been feeling rough with pelvic pain.
Have you guys discussed birth plan yet? I was told at the start of my pregnancy I would be induced on the due date due to IVF but am now 31 weeks and it hasn't been mentioned again. I have heard some horror stories about induction but will do what is best!

nizo1245 · 10/11/2023 07:45

Hey guys, how is everyone doing?
I've been so wrapped up in work and appointments that I totally forgot to check here and see how everyone is getting on.

I'm 34 weeks today and still wake up sometimes wondering if I dreamed it all!

We've had a couple of growth scans so far and baby boy is measuring pretty big, so that's a little scary but we're told he's healthy so that's the main thing!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Jupiteer · 19/11/2023 13:25

Hi @nizo1245 , great to hear from you!
At my last scan at 30 weeks our boy was also big on the 80th centile! However I'm quite relieved as have low papp-a which they said could affect the placental blood flow and restrict his growth, so it's good he is on th bigger side. I have another scan at 36 weeks so hope everything is still ok.
Do you feel ready? Nursery is finally sorted and packing my hospital bag today, never thought I'd get to this point in my life so trying to soak it all in and not panic too much about the birth (although nerves are kicking in).
Hope everyone ok!
@AlisonDanuta please update us when your little one is born x

AlisonDanuta · 19/11/2023 19:48

Hello @Jupiteer @nizo1245

I'm 37 weeks and still can't believe it!
I was scared about birth but now after reading some books I just want this done and over with so I can have my baby with me 🥰🥰🥰
So more excited than scared :))

My baby is measuring all ok so hoping for a natural delivery. We will see what the consultant will say

Good luck girls xxx
