Hi just wanted to ask if anyone is in similar position and tested positive recently.
I'm 5 weeks tomorrow via our 3rd IVF icsi cycle and can't believe it's happening..
I'm pinching myself every day since BFP!
We did try 7 years and i never thought i ever be able to say "I'm pregnant "

My symptoms now are feeling a bit sick and just trying to take things easy.
This wait for first scan seems like it's ages away!

Hi @teacherls

mine we’re pretty undeniable from 4 days I’ve never had any before so it was new for me.

I had moderate cramps on day 4 to day 5 and on day 5 I was exhausted and felt like I had body aches like a fever coming on. Generally I’ve been tender all over.

the symptoms seem to come and go tbh which causes anxiety so trying to just embrace that every day is different.

best of luck have everything crossed for you, the wait is tough feels like time is standing still!

teacherls · 20/04/2023 14:24

Yes it seems each clinic differs in their approach to testing! I will just wait it out and hope for the best on Sunday. It is so nice to be able to talk to people in the same position though!

teacherls · 20/04/2023 14:25

I feel like I have had all these symptoms 😂but when I google it says could be period could be pregnancy!

I will do best to take each day as it comes and see how things stand on Sunday. Eek!

Thank you ladies 😍

Vil · 21/04/2023 10:18

Just got my blood test results back and they are 653 !! Super pleased / worrying both embryos we transferred have stuck 😂

Jupiteer · 21/04/2023 11:00

Congratulations @Vil !

Did they say the HCG was high? I'm not sure what the 'normal' levels are at this stage. Excellent news that at least one is there and maybe both!!!

@nizo1245 happy 5 weeks! Hope you're feeling well?
I still have some ohss symptoms like bloating and pain but my period type cramps have been much better since stopping the progesterone. Just so unsure if still pregnant and looking for signs that don't come 🤣 just need to try and stay positive until the scan x

Vil · 21/04/2023 11:08

@Jupiteer she said high but I think everyone is different! My scan is booked for 2 weeks time.

Pleased to hear your cramps have reduced, my symptoms have really come and gone, so easy to say and I need to take my own advice but try to not to overthink. Fingers crossed for your scan, is it soon?

xx

nizo1245 · 21/04/2023 11:10

Congratulations @Vil
What's next for you, have they booked a scan for you?

@Jupiteer happy 5 weeks! I think this has been the longest week of my life. I've had some cramping on and off which is quite often just on the left side but not much else really in the way of symptoms. Probably feeling a bit more tired than usual.
I'm honestly so paranoid that I'm going to be bleeding every time I go to the toilet 🤦‍♀️

Vil · 21/04/2023 12:14

@nizo1245 and @Jupiteer when are your scans?

I'm booked for the 5th

xx

AlisonDanuta · 21/04/2023 13:54

Ahhh @Vil this is reassuring! Hopefully you'll know more on your scan if it's one or two!

I'm 6 weeks today!

@nizo1245 I'm the same about toilet! I even had a nightmare last night that i was bleeding! This first few weeks are like torture as anything can happen!

My scan isn't for another 2 weeks... i will be the nearly 8 weeks! Surely sounds like it's too late...contemplating if we should go somewhere close for a private scan...

Vil · 21/04/2023 14:05

Hi @AlisonDanuta

i think all clinics are different but maybe try and do an earlier one if it puts your mind at rest I’ll be only 6.5 weeks for my booked one however she did say you might have to come again at 8 so maybe it’s no bad thing !

Jupiteer · 21/04/2023 19:30

@Vil I'm pretty sure both myself and @nizo1245 have our pregnancy scans 2 weeks today when we are 7 weeks.
It's going to be a looooong wait!
I do actually have a scan next Fri when I will be exactly 6 weeks but it's for OHSS - not sure if they will even be looking in the uterus and if they will be able to see anything. It's more to measure the ovaries and the fluid floating around my abdomen 😳 still it would be great if there was something visible 🤞
I downloaded a pregnancy app (too soon?!?) And it says at 5 weeks the embryo is the size of an orange pip 🙂 bigger than I thought!!!!

Jx3303 · 25/04/2023 05:49

Hi ladies, congratulations to you all 💕 please may I join! We got our first ever positive on Friday after our 4th cycle of IVF but first transfer (finally - after a bumpy road and change of clinic!). I had my bloods done on Thursday, and did a test at home on Saturday. Our 7 week scan is booked for the 13th of May. How is everyone? I feel like I'm still running on adrenaline from the excitement 🥰

Vil · 25/04/2023 07:56

@Jx3303 congratulations and welcome !!! It sounds like you’ve had quite the journey to get here.

Jupiteer · 25/04/2023 10:35

Welcome @Jx3303 and congratulations! 🎉
How is everyone doing? I must say I am finding this wait between positive test and scan the worst part of the IVF process mentally. I feel so anxious that something is going wrong, although I don't have any physical reason to believe that. I didn't feel this worried in the wait to see how many fertilized or in the 2ww. I am literally googling risk of miscarriage every day to see the percentage drop by a few points, and dread going to the loo in case I'm bleeding. I just can't seem to think positive. Does anyone else feel like this?

nizo1245 · 25/04/2023 11:20

@Jupiteer I'm the same! Since confirming my BFP every day has felt like an age and I'm terrified every time I go to the bathroom that I'll be bleeding. I think I'm going mad 😂
Only a week and a half to go until that first scan though, we're about half way there!

Vil · 25/04/2023 13:58

@Jupiteer and @nizo1245 me too! I’m still doin f tests as it’s helping me.

All my symptoms have completely gone, boobs aren’t sore at all ! Anyone else experiencing this ? I felt so much last week and week before but now feel complete normal

Jx3303 · 25/04/2023 14:10

Thank you for the warm welcome @Vil and @Jupiteer It was quite a long journey, 2 NHS cycles (one with 1 egg that didn't make it to transfer, one cycle with no eggs) to a 3 cycle package with Create where we did a transfer after cycle 2 as we were in a good position with 5 embryos from the 2 cycles. We were so very pleased to get to transfer finally! How have your ladies journeys been?

I'm also scared about my first scan and of going to the toilet. I am trying hard to keep the negative thoughts at bay. My boobs feel huge and I am so bloated from the progesterone. But other than that the symptoms come and go too, sometimes I feel nauseous but it seems to pass quickly.

I did quite a few good TWW yoga videos so I am going to find some more to do between now and scan. I found them really helped during the wait so would recommend, and also there are some good meditation/affirmations on spotify xx

Jupiteer · 25/04/2023 16:49

Thank you all for your positive responses! @nizo1245 1245 and @Vil good to know I'm not alone in my insanity! @Jx3303 that's so good that Create worked so much better for you, was their protocol very different?

I have had 2 NHS cycles for unexplained infertility. The first one was cancelled the day before the trigger shot due to risk of severe OHSS, my oestrogen levels were sky high and I had over 40 large follicles. They said if they went ahead with EC I would have likely ended up in ICU. I was so sad and upset and it took me several weeks for symptoms to go away.

The second time the protocol was altered with a different drug and different level and we got 10 eggs. I felt much better during stims and only got sore at the end. Recovery from EC was ok and they decided to do a fresh transfer, then low and behold I have OHSS again, however it is mild.

I am on blood thinners and measuring my intake and urine output which is a massive hassle. My symptoms have not really changed which is kind of reassuring but wish they would go away. My belly is very swollen and quite sore. The other symptoms I have like sore boobs and nausea come and go every few days so difficult to keep tabs on it and I don't know what are pregnancy related and what are OHSS. I do feel a bit better after stopping the progesterone as it was giving me period type cramps.

Thanks for the yoga advice, will give it a go x

Jx3303 · 25/04/2023 17:08

@Jupiteer yes with create we did mild IVF (as opposed to max stims with NHS) as I have low amh and not all that many follicles. I responded so much better and it really was quality over quantity.

Oh I'm sorry that sounds incredibly painful and must have been so disappointing to cancel the day before trigger. We had a cycle cancelled a few days into stims and it's just so disheartening isn't it. Glad to hear you felt much better second cycle and they made some good changes! But not so good that you again have OHSS. I really hope that the symptoms ease up really soon!

There's a lady called Bettina Rae on YouTube and she has some first trimester videos so I'm going to take a look at them. They will be very gentle, my favourite kind of yoga 🧘🏻‍♀️ xx

Jupiteer · 25/04/2023 20:42

I read back through my post and it sounds SOOO negative! I really need to improve my headspace and get out of the idea that the scan will be bad news. I think just because it took 3yrs to get here, I feel the hope will be snatched away any second.
@Jx3303 I had a go at a yoga session and it was great to hear her speak and give positive affirmations. This is what I need!
I also downloaded the Mindful IVF app, it's £12 a month but it's good, it gives good mantras to say every day like 'this is a normal pregnancy'... Just need to practice the belief!

AlisonDanuta · 25/04/2023 21:37

Congratulations @Jx3303 ! It's rewarding to see that BFP after few cycles...
I'm 6+4 and still worrying so much! What if it is empty sac... what if I start bleeding.. am I doing everything I can to prevent miscarriage .. looking through Internet for any signs.
My scan is in 9 days.. so I will be 7+6 which is quite late scan but they had no space as bank holiday 😕 so we've decided to wait and live in the hope!

OP posts:
Jx3303 · 26/04/2023 06:09

@Jupiteer after what we go through with IVF I believe it's totally normal to be anxious and worried. Every step is difficult and it's such a rollercoaster to get to that BFP we then all just so badly want it to go smoothly. So I didn't read your post as really negative at all, we all understand ❤️

I'm really glad the yoga helped! The mindful IVF app is really good, I had it in the past but was a tight arse and wouldn't pay when it stopped being free haha!

@AlisonDanuta thank you - and congratulations to you 🥰 I have all those worries too - as I said above I think this is completely normal. I had a bit of a faff getting my scan booked too, there isn't much choice in NE Scotland, my preferred place the sonographer is off on long term sick, one didn't do 7 weeks as they don't do internal and the other didn't have any appointments, either a few days early or I'd have to wait later the following week. I don't want to go too early so I booked a place that's an hour away but on a Saturday and I think I'll be 7+3 (or 7+1 depending on the app) which app have you ladies used? My period tracker app says one thing and a pregnancy app says another even though I put in IVF and exact transfer day xx

OP posts:
Jx3303 · 26/04/2023 08:54

@AlisonDanuta Thank you! That app and another both say 5 weeks due 27th December but my period app Femometer says the same due date but that it's 4 weeks 4 days! Xx

Vil · 26/04/2023 11:58

Hi ladies

Mine is saying 25th December and that I am 5 weeks 1 day today.

Christmas Day 🙈

My scan is booked for when I’ll be 6 weeks and 3 days and I’m really worried it’s early so we won’t see anything!!

Still obsessively testing and had a clearblue yesterday that said 3+ weeks although I know that doesn’t rule anything out.

Going to take my own advice and try and be more positive!!

Have you ladies told anyone yet?

thanks !
