@Lifa thank you! I had my appointment earlier today and all is good! they checked the heartbeat with a doppler, was good to finally be able to listen to the heartbeat! we didnt get that at the 8 and 12 week scan.

Your halfway point tomorrow! And how exciting, scan on NYE!!

Oh no! It's so true what they say that every pregnancy is different, i havent experienced any nausea yet and thought i might have missed that boat but i guess it could hit at anytime! hope you are feeling better now.

Sounds like baby is taking all the iron from you lol!!! Hopefully they can resolve this soon and also your nausea goes away, keep us updated on your scan! Can't wait!!!

ngy21 · 01/01/2022 12:37

Hope everyone had a great Xmas and happy new year!

Any updates on little beans?

I have my 20 week scan on the 20th 😊

beachbum85 · 04/01/2022 11:59

Happy New Year everyone!! I hope you had a good break and the year started out well for all of you :) and for all of those waiting to start new cycles in 2022 - I'm keeping everything tightly crossed that this is your year Star

I stopped getting notifications from this thread so i missed the updates!

@Lifa congrats on reaching the halfway mark! how was your NYE scan? I hope you got a better solution for the iron issue and that the nausea has subsided again!

@ngy21 glad to hear all is well and you heard the heartbeat last time - that must have been a great Xmas present :)
20th is not far at all!

I'll hit 20 weeks on Thursday and have the anomaly scan on the 14th! I can't believe he's almost half baked haha
I still get nauseous on-and-off, but nothing like the first trimester, and I'm starting to get used to having a visible bump!

@Novavee how are you doing? I hope all is progressing smoothly for you xx

Very best wishes to anyone else who might still be reading here Daffodil

Lifa · 04/01/2022 15:33

@beachbum85 Happy New Year to you 😘 my NYE scan was great thank you ....he's cooking nicely and everything looks perfect which was such a relief 😊 my Iron is still low and can't take iron tablets as made me soooooo sick 🙃 Dr and Consultant are looking looking at either iron injections or IV lipids so waiting to hear which one is next .....
Amazing you are at the 20 weeks this week and not long till your next scan ....bless you with your nausea 😵 I still get on and off but no way as bad....awwww is your bump big? Mine seems to be huuuuuuge already 😁 xxx

ngy21 · 06/01/2022 12:12

@beachbum85 it was great indeed knowing that little one has a strong healthy heartbeat! just impatiently waiting for my scan which is 2 weeks away!!!
Today marks half way for you - crazy! hope the nausea is piping down a bit.

OP posts:
beachbum85 · 14/01/2022 12:35

@ngy21 less than a week to go to your scan! so exciting, keep us posted :)

@Lifa glad to hear everythinglooks perfect! did you get any info about injections vs IV? I hope you found a solution that doesn't make you sick!!

Nausea is a lot better, thanks, and my bump feels huge!!
We just had the anomaly scan and baby is growing well and on track :) he wasn't cooperating with the sonographer so we got to see him for a long time, which I have to say I quite enjoyed haha

Happy Friday and happy weekend to all xx

ngy21 · 19/01/2022 10:04

@beachbum85 i am mega excited for my scan tomorrow! We have so much going on round the house at the moment it's feeling a little stressful so it's good to have something to look forward too. I have my birthday on Friday as well but that feels like nothing compared to tomorrow lol! We are keeping gender a surprise as well but have been seeing so many theories around i just think i wont be able to help myself and try and guess the gender ha!!

Glad to hear your anomaly scan went well and everything is on track! That's all the NHS scans now isnt it? would you be looking to go private for one more before little bean makes an entrance to the world?? I am very tempted to get a private one around week 30 mark!!! hope the nausea has gone and you're feeling loads better before you hit the 3rd tri!

Hope everyone else is doing well :)

OP posts:
beachbum85 · 21/01/2022 15:01

Happy birthday @ngy21!!
I hope the scan went well yesterday and it was a great start to your birthday weekend :)
You're so strong to keep the gender a surprise haha any theories so far??

We have an extra NHS scan at 36 weeks since we're IVF, so that's nice! I still think I might cave and go for another before then, I'm just too curious and looking for reassurance the whole time, although I think I might be better once I start feeling him move (sonographer said the placenta is attached on the front, so it creates an extra cushion and it will take longer to feel anything).

Hope everyone else is well! Happy Friday and have a great weekend xx

ngy21 · 21/01/2022 15:24

@beachbum85 thank you!!!
Scan went well, all looks good with little bean! We asked for her to not reveal the gender, but i think she accidentally let it slip twice. My partner didnt notice tho.... and on one image she actually paused between the legs to show us the legs and thighs... and im pretty sure i saw something. What would be good is if at birth i was completely wrong and id be 100% suprised!!!!

a theory that i recently heard of was the nub theory??? apparently can predict gender from 12 weeks but when i looked at my 12 week scan i dont even know where the nub was loll!!!

I didn't know about the 36 week scan! no ones mentioned that to me at the scan appointments or MW appointments?!!!

I can't rmb where they said my placenta was, i think back wall, but i can definitely feel little rolling movements/bubbles here and there, such an amazing feeling!

and i get what u mean about reassurance, which is why i want a scan at 30 weeks as well! i think at every midwife appointment they do checks with a doppler too right???

It's crazy to think i have about 4 months left, and must be even crazier for you since u are ahead... do you feel like you've got lots to do still?!

OP posts:
beachbum85 · 27/01/2022 11:13

Hi @ngy21
So glad to hear that all is looking good! 🥰 haha it must be lots of fun trying to guess the gender :) I have no idea about the nub theory but once the sonographer pointed it out at our scan, it was very obvious that he's a boy... so best close your eyes next time they look at legs and thighs, just in case Grin

Due date is exactly 4 months away now and I still have absolutely everything to do! So totally unprepared... We decided to go home for the birth and the summer (we're not from the UK) so now need to register at a hospital back home, transfer our notes, and all other kinds of stuff! So not making it easier for ourselves at all, but looking forward to (and relying on!) support from family and friends.

Yes, I heard they check the heartbeat at every midwife appointment. I only found out about the 36 w scan after the anomaly scan - they said it's standard for IVF pregnancies but nothing more. I'm also in for a gestational diabetes test in a couple of weeks, so I'll let you know if I find out more then.

In the meantime I've started feeling him roll around and it's such a special feeling!!

Hope you're all doing well! Hugs xx

ngy21 · 10/02/2022 11:03

hey @beachbum85 it's been a while! omg lots to do before birth of baby boy!
Im gonna mention the 36w scan to my MW on my next check up in a couple weeks time and see what she says. i think i still do plan on getting a private one anyway between week 30-32 just to keep my mind at ease.
i've been feeling the odd jabs on my right side (from the last scan they did tell me thats where the legs/feet were) so that's been quite fun.... the rumbles and smaller movements have been nice to experience!
We have a baby show beginning of march which im looking forward too! And have actually started to speak/meet up with ladies with due dates close to mine, and local too!
Hope all is well with you and you have managed to get everything transferred back home!

Lifa · 10/02/2022 12:44

Hey @beachbum85 @ngy21 glad you hear you are both doing well .....apologies no contact I seemed to have missed a review notifications of messages added......

I also have the plecenta at the front so it's only really the last couple of weeks I am feeling strong kicks and punches rather than butterfly feelings ......Time is definitely passing quickly and can't believe I will start my mat leave 9 weeks today 🙈 we have the babies room ready just need to system buying clothes as was waiting for the new season to start......
Take care both of you xxx

ngy21 · 21/02/2022 16:27

@Lifa omg!!! just over 7 weeks until your mat leave,,, that is crazy!
I do feel time does fly by a bit tho... i'm going away for a week next month and when i'm back i would have just started my third tri.

We had a lot of clothes handed down for the baby which im grateful for as i know with newborns/early stages... you can never have enough clothes as you are constantly changing and cleaning!!!

When is your EDD again?

OP posts:
Lifa · 21/02/2022 17:25

@ngy21 I hope you are OK....I know can't believe only 7 weeks to go until mat leave....my due date is 19th May however I am having a csection which will be around 12th May .....I have a front low plecenta and on blood pressure tablets so a section seemed to be the best option...

Awwww how lovely you have bits handed down...we have started to buy clothes this weekend they look sooooooo tiny and cute 😍 still lots to buy

I am defo starting to feel tired again I went through 6 weeks of bouncing with energy....glad we got a lot done within that time ...luckily I work from home as would definitely struggle actually going into work....

Enjoy your time away xxx

ngy21 · 23/02/2022 09:39

@Lifa I am all good thanks! got my MW appt tomorrow so it will be nice to hear the little heartbeat again.

I know what you mean with the clothes, when i washed them and started to put them away i was just thinking this is so tiny!!! I'm going to the baby show in london next week so hoping to pick up some final bits/get inspo for the nursery.

I also work from home!! So glad that I do as i've been needing more afternoon naps as i can't sleep through the night. And thanks, will try my best to enjoy time away! i cannot wait to just stay in the pool and let it take all the weight off.

Are you going to MW appts every 2-3 weeks now until due date?

OP posts:
beachbum85 · 23/02/2022 12:19

Hi ladies, glad to hear you're both doing well!

@ngy21 enjoy your MW appt tomorrow :) My next one is next Friday and I'm really looking forward to hearing the heartbeat again too! Last time I was in was for my gestational diabetes test (luckily all fine) so I didn't get to hear it then...
And enjoy your time away - hopefully relaxing in the pool will help you sleep better at night too xx

@Lifa the countdown begins! so exciting! sorry to hear you're getting tired again (the second trimester energy is really quite amazing!) but glad you're working from home too and you've got lots of things done :)

Oh my, you're both so far ahead of us - we have no clothes yet! We have most of the 'bigger' things like cot, pram, etc sorted as our friends have been super generous passing on their kit, but we're missing all the day-to-day stuff, except the freebies I picked up in the Emma's Diary packs. Those teeny tiny clothes sound adorable though... can't wait 😍

Lifa · 26/02/2022 17:29

@beachbum85 @ngy21 glad you are both doing well 😊 I had a 28 week growth scan this week baby is weighing approx 2lbs 12 bless him 💙 I have another scan booked for 32 weeks .....we are gradually picking up more bits as time is going along and all the big bits are bought ....nursery is finished so now every thing is set up we can get the clothes bought, washed and hung up ....trying to get as much done now as I am getting more tired each day eeeeekkkkk.....it doesn't help as I have put soooooo much weight on and will be straight onto healthy eating once baby arrives ...hope you have a fab weekend xxx

Lifa · 11/03/2022 17:36

@ngy21 @beachbum85 hey ladies Happy Friday and how are you both doing xxx

ngy21 · 11/03/2022 18:16

Hey @Lifa!!

got a positive covid LF test... so currently recovering from that. So gutted as was suppose to be on holiday right now!!!!
So... could've been better but im grateful that little bean is actively kicking away and is doing well.

I have my 28w appointment next week! and then hopefully recover from covid by end of the month so i can still catch a last min holiday before baby makes an appearance.

how are you getting on? have you had your 32w scan yet???

hope everyone else is keeping well!

OP posts:
Lifa · 11/03/2022 18:53

@ngy21 oh no I hope you are on the road to recovery, what a shame about your holiday however you still have time to get another one in 😀
Hope all goes well at your 28 week scan next week
I am doing good getting a veeeeeeery big bump 🙈 I have my 32 week scan 24th of the month, we had a lovely sunny day yesterday so washed the baby clothes and hung out on the line, my mat leave starts in 5 weeks time is going quickly, I have started to pick up bits for my hospital bag and will start packing that over the next few weeks xxx

ngy21 · 14/03/2022 13:38

@Lifa i am gutted about the holiday but we are going to rebook to go somewhere else end of the month! Can't wait... much needed relax time!
My appointment is on Friday, hopefully will be able to get an updated fit to fly form from my MW!
Eeeeek did you find your bump has grown a massive amount since these last few weeks?? I can feel my skin itching from new stretch marks!!! Weather is beautiful now makes me more excited to see little bean and be able to push them around in nice weather.
Ahhhh hospital bag time!! I am quite excited about packing mine lol! been looking online for a nice holdall bag.
Bet you are looking forward to your mat leave! everything is happening so quick you could potentially see little bean next month if they decide to show up early!!!

Hope you're keeping well - can't believe we've been here from beginning of journey and your little bean is almost here!

OP posts:
Lifa · 14/03/2022 17:38

@ngy21 fingers crossed for you that you get a holiday booked ......
My bump is growing big time, when I went to the 28 week scan he was weighting approx 2lb 12 apparently they put on 1/2 pound each week from there onwards 🙈
I can't wait until my mat leave definitely feeling tired and on the countdown.....
I am keeping good hope you are too....i know tines gone quick and it's been lovely going through the journey together 😊

Lifa · 28/03/2022 17:46

@ngy21 @beachbum85
Hey ladies just checking in on how you are both doing 😘 xxx

beachbum85 · 29/03/2022 12:22

Hey ladies 😊

Thanks for the message @Lifa, somehow I miss the notifications on this thread! How are you feeling, and your bump? How was your 32w scan? Sounds like your preps are well on track Star

I'm well thanks, really counting down now: 2w till I travel back home, and 8w till our due date! I really can't believe it... I feel huge too, and I get really bad calf cramps and shin splints, but other than that I can't complain at all and energy levels are still OK. We had a coupleof sessions of our antenatal course which was hugely helpful, but still feeling like there's loads to do!

@ngy21 so sorry to hear you tested positive and had to miss your holiday! :( have you managed to reschedule? How was your 28w appointment?

I hope everyone is keeping well xx
