HT2101 · 22/06/2020 17:25

@HJF84 oh FFS! Excuse my language. I’m so sorry. This process is ridiculously hard. It takes such a strong woman to get on the IVF roller coaster. Will be thinking of you and @MrsLouB tonight. Xx

BabySweet85 · 22/06/2020 17:27

@Mrbay - what time are you going in? My EC isn’t until 10.30 so feels quite late. Thanks for the tips i think i will shower properly night before and then a ‘rinse’ in the morning 😂

I haven’t worn perfume or nail varnish etc for a while now - just from reading ‘It starts with the Egg’ there is a lot of guidance about how to improve the quality of eggs. Most of you probably already know the book - but since doing a range of the things it has suggested I have increased my AFC from 2/3 to a solid 8 on one ovary. Not sure about the other ovary as they haven’t been able to find it recently - apparently it’s high up. I don’t know if this increase is because of the book suggestions but I have made lots of changes so would like to think it has had an impact.

Also just sneezed and felt like i popped an ovary. Day 12 of stims and they feel massive 🙈

ivfgottostaypositive · 22/06/2020 17:29

@HJF84

I'm so sorry hun sending you massive hugs - yes have a massive gin tonight - stock up on lots of chocolate and have a good cry xxxxx

HT2101 · 22/06/2020 17:29

@Mrbay Good luck for tomorrow... can’t wait to get your review of EC day 🤣

Eggling · 22/06/2020 17:57

@HJF84 so sorry love, enjoy your gin, it is so well-deserves xxx

@Mrbay he's been off caffeine for a few months now, cut down on alcohol and been taking pregnacare conception vitamins for men and zinc. I don't know how accurate morphology results are anyway, everything I've read seems to say nobody knows how much it matters 🤷‍♀️ still so much mystery around fertility treatment!

@Effortissuccess20 congrats EC buddy, how are you feeling? Hope you're getting plenty of rest.

@Babysweet85 good luck for your trigger shot - I got stressed about mine but it was totally fine, plus an injection free day to look forward to as a reward!

Hope everyone has a nice evening ❤️

Mrbay · 22/06/2020 18:28

@Pattaz2711 - thank you!! Just hoping that this cycle hasn't been a watse of time!

@HT2101 - I'll try not to disappoint!

@BabySweet85 - I'm in for 8am, luckily the clinic is pretty close but I like to be super early for EC just in case of traffic etc.

I read some of It Starts With An Egg and I gave up half way through as it put the fear of god into me!

@Eggling - giving up coffee must have been hard! I think I'm more upset about no coffee than no alcohol! Fingers crossed they do the job tonight 🤞

HJF84 · 22/06/2020 19:13

Thanks all. It's not the outcome we'd hoped for. I've had a good cry, and my cat has been super supportive, and enjoyed the extra time on my lap.

@mrbay I've opted for a Coconut and Lime number I picked up in Aldi over lockdown teamed with a fever tree tonic. It's delicious!

DH and I had a good chat. And a cry. And we're going to do another cycle, but try our luck at a different clinic. We've had four at Create and I'd like to see an approach from someone else before we opt for donor eggs or adoption. So I'll still be around on the boards - but I hope I don't see any of you on any more TWW threads! I hope you all get your BFPs and have sticky embies 🤞🏼

HT2101 · 22/06/2020 19:25

@HJF84 That sounds like a good plan! Not sure where you’re based but happy to give you the clinic and name of the consultant I see which is in London xx

HJF84 · 22/06/2020 19:28

Yes please @HT2101 - I'm South London/Surrey at I was at Create St Paul's, so definitely up for recommendations.

ivfgottostaypositive · 22/06/2020 19:29

@HJF84

I think speaking to a different clinic might be a good idea. As much as I love Create after getting no blastocysts this last cycle I was going to speak to other clinics for a different perspective.
You have to do what's right for you and if you aren't quite ready to stop then don't If you can. If you don't try a different protocol you might always wonder what if.

Hopefully you'll keep the same username so I can keep up to date with how things are going

I was going to speak to the fertility clinic at Coventry hospital as that apparently has above average success rates. Not sure of other clinics other than the hideously expensive ARGC x

Mrbay · 22/06/2020 19:58

@hjf84 - oh that does sound nice! I've had to avoid the gin section in Aldi this year as I have WAY too many bottles of gin in the cupboard.
I'm glad you and DH have found the strength to go for a 4th round it's harder work than you ever realised!
I would recommend my clinic but it's South West - Care - I know 2 couples that have managed to get their happy ending, hopefully I'll be the 3rd. I never feel rushed in a consultation and all the consultants are happy to explain why the treatment I've researched is or isn't suitable for us.

Good luck!

MorgenMuffel · 22/06/2020 20:19

@HJF84 glad you've managed to have a cry and think about what is next. I'm in Surrey and have been at the Lister clinic in Battersea - we've had a really positive experience so far.

@Mrbay good luck tomorrow

HT2101 · 22/06/2020 20:22

@HJF84 I’m SW London and go to the Lister Fertility Clinic. My consultant is Dr Rittenberg, she’s lovely. Doesn’t mind that I literally spend every appointment usually in tears and always has a box of tissues on hand. She’s also mixed things up for me when previous cycles haven’t worked and is always very upfront with any additional costs etc. Xx

HT2101 · 22/06/2020 20:23

Haha snap @MorgenMuffel

MorgenMuffel · 22/06/2020 20:32

@ht2101 we've seen Dr Rittenburg too!

HT2101 · 22/06/2020 20:40

Haha @MorgenMuffel.... sorry if she didn’t have any tissues left when you went.

Pattaz2711 · 22/06/2020 21:03

@HJF84 if you feel that what you need to do, I prob would if it was me. An sometimes you try an it doesn't work, some clinics have different thing, I'm with a clinic in the south west it's just been taken over by care, I don't know anyone who's been in for fertility there it was near to me, but I think sometimes some clinics aren't right for us etc.. you need to do what's right for you.. we're be here with you... that gin sounded amazing.. I like the rubarb one an pink gin.. take care of your self my darling an we're all still here for you ❤️❤️❤️ thinking of you an sending lots of love..

@all how are we all this evening lovely ladies xx

Everhopeful35 · 22/06/2020 21:12

@Mrbay and @HJF84 - absolutely gutted for you ladies. I'm so so sorry. I'm only on my first round of IVF and don't know yet whether it's been successful, so not sure whether I should recommend my clinic. But for what it's worth, I'm at ARGC - a friend of mine went there after three failed rounds on the NHS and got pregnant first time with twins! They are known as being the place people go to if they've tried and failed elsewhere, and I think that's because some of their methods are a bit different. For example, they do split transfers (I had one embryo put in on day 3 and a blastocyst on day 5). They also place a lot of emphasis on monitoring (scans and blood tests ecery other day and twice a day leading up to EC) so they know exactly what's happening at all times. As I say, I've yet to see the results first hand but I've been impressed with them so far.

@Pattaz2711 I am also getting period pain! It's good to know someone else is. Had it Saturday night, most of Sunday and a small bout of it this evening. I'm getting worried... A new symptom developed yesterday too. I'm feeling light headed/slightly dizzy. Anyone else had this and had a BFP? It's hard to know what's a potential pregnancy sign when you're on so much medication!!

Welcome to all the newcomers! xx

elleceedee · 22/06/2020 21:17

So much to catch up on, I'm so sorry if I missed anyone's update.

@Mrbay good luck for tomorrow!

@BabySweet85 good luck for your trigger! For ET I have a shower etc as normal and wear unscented deodorant.

@HJF84 so sorry for your result today. This is such a cruel process. Glad your cat has been there for a cuddle!

@MrsLouB I was really hoping it would turn around for you. I'm so sorry it wasn't positive for you today.

@EffortIsSuccess20 glad all went well today and I've got everything crossed that you get some good news in your call tomorrow!

@Pattaz2711 woop woop! That's s great line for 5dp5dt! Did you start testing on day 3?

@Eggling well done for getting EC out if the way, good number too!

Welcome to the newcomers @RobertsMother @JenniferJS @Georgina125 this group has been a great support to me and I hope you find it the same!

I had my ET today, it was a bit odd not having DH there to hold my hand but I'm glad it's over and done with! Feeling nervous and excited. OTD on 4th July but let's be honest if I hold out even until this weekend it will be an absolute miracle!

Oh and @ivfgottostaypositive my progesterone was 138! Last time it was 45 so I'm a bit in shock that it's gone up so much especially as I've done nothing different. Hoping that's a good sign!

HT2101 · 22/06/2020 21:25

Pleased your ET went well @elleceedee. Great news on your progesterone levels too. If I get that far I’m def going to ask them to check my levels as I’m sure I haven’t before, just kept shoving the cyclogest up there...

Everhopeful35 · 22/06/2020 21:25

@Pattaz2711 Just saw your pregnancy test - the line is definitely darker! Amazing. Sorry, think I just tagged you in a totally random board that I managed to click on, so sorry if you get confused!! Grin
