@Everhopeful35 I am keeping my fingers crossed for you. I think the clinic would be up front if your HCG was concerning.

Nothing back from the clinic so I might call if I don't hear anything soon. Just a question for you all: what support were you given for your luteal phase? I've been having 2 x 400mg cyclogest and I'm wondering if it wasn't enough. Did anyone else have more? Or oestrogen support? I've read that oestrogen drops a lot after egg collection and sometimes supplementing progesterone is not enough.

BabySweet85 · 29/06/2020 12:23

Hi all - a quick update from me. I had the 5 day post egg collection call today. I have 3 blastocysts but one is not good quality. So the best one of the three is going back in today and the other is being frozen. The 4th fertilised egg is not yet at blastocyst so they're going to check it tomorrow to see of it is suitable for freezing. I have heard that they don’t usually make it though - what do you guys think?

I was given no grading, just good or not good quality. That happened to anyone else?

I have had my pre transfer acupuncture session this morning and my post one is straight after transfer!

@Everhopeful35 i am sure they would have given you a true opinion at the clinic so the fact that theyre not worried is a good sign

Eggling · 29/06/2020 12:36

@Babysweet85 so exciting that you're having transfer this afternoon - PUPO here you come! Re the embryo they're checking tomorrow, I've only got my own experience, they said the same thing then rang next morning to say unfortunately it hadn't made it. One transfer and one frozen is brilliant whatever the outcome with the other one.

I was told grading but only after I asked, I don't know if they would have said otherwise. Maybe you can ask this afternoon?

BabySweet85 · 29/06/2020 12:41

@Eggling thank you. Yes i don’t have high hopes for the one they're checking tomorrow. O know a few people who were told that but it didn’t amount to anything. I think I might not ask about grading, if I do I will just spend hours googling it!

elleceedee · 29/06/2020 12:42

@Georgina125 I'm on cyclogest 3x a day plus 6mg of progynova. Hope you hear back from your clinic soon and they can give you some advice.

@Everhopeful35 do your clinic want to test your HCG again? Easy for me to say but really try not to worry - like others have said your clinic would be honest with you if they felt it was concerning.

@BabySweet85 good luck for transfer! I must admit I didn't actually find out the grading of my embryos until I specifically asked after a frozen transfer so I don't think it's that unusual if your clinic doesn't volunteer that information. I've definitely read that women have success with blastocysts that have been frozen on day 6 so hopefully the final one will be fine to freeze tomorrow.

Thanks everyone. They want me to come in tomorrow to do another HCG test and have put me on standby for an IVIG drip, as I'm having immune therapy. I'm in tears and so scared.

@Georgina125 I'm also on 3x a day cyclogest pessaries and my progesterone is doing well on those. They will switch my to progesterone injections if it falls though.

@BabySweet85 Good luck for your transfer xx

BabySweet85 · 29/06/2020 13:07

@Georgina125 Hi Georgina. I am in a similar situation in the sense that i usually spot about 7 days before my period which means my lining isn’t holding in place. I am on exactly the same as you with the cyclogest. I take it on an evening before bed. But on nothing else.

Hopefully it is implantation, especially if it is new blood x

Camfan1 · 29/06/2020 13:35

@Georgina125 for my first fresh cycle I was on 90mg a day (Crinone gel) - I bled 4 days before my OTD. Because of this they upped me to 1200mg a day (3 x a day of 400mg Cyclogest) for the next FET round, so a massive jump! My test was negative this time too, but I haven’t yet bled so the extra progesterone at least stopped me from bleeding early.
I always spot and have fairly short natural cycles so I think i lack in progesterone and this is probably what is stopping me from getting pregnant! It’s never been picked up on tests though which is strange.

Camfan1 · 29/06/2020 13:35

Oh also on progynova 5 times a day too x

Georgina125 · 29/06/2020 13:36

Still nothing from the clinic, despite calling and chasing. I just have a very bad feeling that this is something the clinic have missed. They whacked me on high amounts of stimulation drugs, which worked really well. Then potentially they've wasted all of that good work (and my time and money) by not giving me good enough luteal phase support. Of course, I could be wrong and it could be implantation but my gut feeling is that it isn't. What really annoys me is that they pushed me to go on clexane and aspirin with little to no evidence it was needed but didn't even think about supporting the luteal phase better. If this is AF, I'm going to give them hell to pay.

Georgina125 · 29/06/2020 14:01

You ladies have been amazing and I wish you all well on your cycles. I'm going to bow out out of this thread. With my endometriosis and possibly other issues with my luteal phase, I can see this being a very long journey. I'm feeling very angry and I don't want to bring down a very hopeful thread with my negativity.

Best wishes to all and thanks for trying to pull me out of my hole.

Camfan1 · 29/06/2020 14:24

@georgina125 take care of yourself. Please know you’re not alone. I’ve been crying pretty much since Saturday morning with my 2nd failed transfer. I also know how hard it is when you bleed early too. It feels as though you’ve been cheated out of the experience. I’ve taken the day off work to laze around and feel sorry for myself. I’ve tried keeping myself busy, but it all seems so pointless at the moment and I just don’t have the mental energy to do anything. You’ve gotta do whatever you need to to get through this time. I hope you hear from the clinic soon. Best of luck to you in the future xx

elleceedee · 29/06/2020 14:32

@Georgina125 please don't feel that you have to leave the thread - we are all here to support each other with good or bad outcomes. Hope you get some answers from your clinic. Sending love to you.

@Georgina125 I hope you don’t leave the thread. We’re here for the ups and the downs. But take care of yourself whatever you decide to do.

@Camfan1 sorry to hear about your failed transfer. Hope your day off has given you some space to grieve.

@Everhopeful35 sorry to hear you’ve had disappointing news too. But be reassured that your clinic aren’t concerned.

Georgina125 · 29/06/2020 15:22

@Dbrook The problem is that I was on a thread for bereaved parents trying to conceive again and I watched as every single one of them fell pregnant as I failed again and again. It made me very bitter and angry, even though it was none of their faults. When the IVF was going well, I kidded myself that I had the same chances as anyone else so I thought I could try joining a thread again. But now I can see that my chances are not the same because my body never reacts to anything in the right way. I need to take myself away from it all before I end up a bitter, twisted person again.

HT2101 · 29/06/2020 15:36

@Everhopeful35 fingers crossed you get some reassurances tomorrow. What immune therapy are you on?

BabySweet85 · 29/06/2020 16:01

Back from transfer. They put in a 5aa they only told me the grade while i was sat with my legs in stirrups!

Anyone else thinking bizarrely that it could just fall out 😂

HT2101 · 29/06/2020 16:35

Congrats on being PUPO @BabySweet85. Hope you’ve got lots to keep you preoccupied over the coming days.

@Pattaz2711 how you doing? Did you get your blood test?

pattaz2711 · 29/06/2020 17:04

pattaz2711 · 29/06/2020 17:27

How are you my sweet

@BabySweet85 congratulations on PUPO.. we're all here with you xx

Mrbay · 29/06/2020 17:36

@Georgina125 - I can relate, DH and I have been trying for the last 4 years and we've seen so many people manage to have a baby, lots unplanned - which somehow makes it worse for me. Big hugs and take some time to be kind to yourself and DP

@babysweet85 - enjoy being PUPO. It won't fall out, don't worry about that!

@Everhopeful35 - sorry your recent bloods have worried you but if the nurse/consultant isn't worried and I think you have to put your trust in them. Big hugs.

HT2101 · 29/06/2020 17:41

@Pattaz2711 hmm no idea I’m afraid. Guessing that’s not your HCG level? Did dr not say anything else?

pattaz2711 · 29/06/2020 17:42

@HT2101 yep that's the hcg levels x

HT2101 · 29/06/2020 17:56

@Pattaz2711 one of the ladies on here posted this the other day so that should help. X
