IVF in Feb/March 2020?

Hello! I'm just wondering whether there are others starting their IVF journey in Feb/March 2020.

I am dealing with secondary infertility (male factor) and we have been TTC#2 for 16 months. We conceived naturally by some miracle back in July, but sadly had an early miscarriage (my third in total). We're now waiting to start ICSI IVF in early February.

Would love to hear from others doing the same. x

Hi ladies,

I would love to join. I'm 33 and having ICSI for male factor infertility. Finally got our funding through and will be starting long protocol in February! Just waiting for period to start now so that I can be more sure on all the dates, but I'm sure they will change along the way!

Take care everyone!

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 25/01/2020 10:09

@BeHereNowx32
Thanks. Yeah it must be the long one. I’ve just been reading a book called ‘Get a Life - His/Hers survival guide to IVF’. It’s really honest and funny! A real account of a couples journey.

Meds are delivered this week. I need to make myself really busy during the next few weeks to make the time go quickly! x

Mrsmch123 · 25/01/2020 11:59

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip (love the name btw) have you had your postrap injection on day 21?think I'm a cycle behind you as I haven't have this done??

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 25/01/2020 12:30

I will start with nasal spray on Day 21. I’m waiting for my period which will be beginning of Feb.

I have to go to my clinic for ‘injection teach session’ in a week or so x

TinnedPearsForPudding · 25/01/2020 13:48

Hi everyone,
Can I join too please? We'll be starting in about 2 weeks so we are ordering meds etc now. This will be our 4th cycle but the 3rd cycle was 8yrs ago so it still all feels new to us

PickleKid · 25/01/2020 17:50

Drugs come on 28 and pills start 5, and can before the injections is 13. It's happening!!!

PickleKid · 25/01/2020 17:51

Err scan.

I'm in the tub and droplets on screen. Lol

waitingforarainbow · 25/01/2020 18:17

Hello everyone! Well I started this thread at the end of last year as I was meant to be starting my first round of IVF in February. However we've recently had some unexpected news that we've managed to resolve our MFI issues (at least for now) through a combination of drugs. This means we should be able to try naturally now. Doesn't mean we won't do IVF in future but for now it's on hold. Best of luck to everyone else - I'll still be keeping an eye on this thread! x

PickleKid- baths great way to relax as long as you don't drop your phone!
TinnedPearsForPudding- wow 8 years! So is it one more go and draw a line under it? My end date is 40th bday next year either way (2 IVF cycles then no more treatment)
UncleBrynsfishingtrip - humour and relatability is what suits me best too. I watched a few great documentaries that made me laugh and cry, sometimes simultaneously.
CarbsAndCheese- wow you're young! 33 is great. I'm turning 39 this year but luckily just found out my AMH has not gone down since last check one year ago (now 6.5).

Fredsgirl19 · 25/01/2020 20:55

@waitingforarainbow wow!! The human body is a wonderful thing. Wishing you all the very best and don’t forget to have FUN trying.

Our MFI is cancer/chemo related but would love to hear just out of curiosity what you / he did to boost it?

PineappleC · 26/01/2020 08:31

Hi ladies, hope it's okay for me to join too! We've been trying for 18 months, but because we have MFI, we are very lucky to get one NHS IVF/ICSI round. I'm on long protocol, currently taking the pill until 30th Jan, then nasal spray until 10th Feb. If all goes to plan, that gives EC on 21st Feb. Feeling the pressure a bit as we only get one round, but very eager to get started now. Feels very ironic to be taking the pill 😅

Good much to everyone xx

waitingforarainbow · 26/01/2020 08:45

@PickleKid @ChatWithMe @Fredsgirl19 Thank you! ❤️

@Fredsgirl19 sorry to hear about your MFI and the cause of it. My DH has been taking a mix of HMG, HCG and Clomid, which seems to have worked (for now). We think his problem may be pituitary or 'unexplained', but either way, none of the specialists seem concerned. My DH actually had to research and suggest the protocol himself - it's shocking how little knowledge there is in this area! Best of luck to you. X

Just joining back in after a weekend of night shifts. I've never been so keen for my period to start just so I can start the cycle, strange huh?

ChatWithMe · 27/01/2020 15:16

Welcome PineappleC. So your embryo transfer will be Feb 26, same day as my appointment with consultant to book my IVF :-) Hope you get a top grade embryo!

TinnedPearsForPudding I used to do 3 12hr night shifts in a row then have one day off then one or more 13hr day shifts. It was rough. How many nights are you booked to do during injections?

TinnedPearsForPudding · 27/01/2020 16:25

@ChatWithMe thanks to some well timed annual leave & some study days I have only 2 shifts to get thorough whilst on treatment

ChatWithMe · 27/01/2020 16:52

Ah that's good news :-)

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 27/01/2020 17:38

Oooooh my drugs arrived today!!
I’m feeling quite excited now 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Xx

ChatWithMe · 27/01/2020 18:20

Make sure you check it's all there, with expiration dates and quantities. I knew one lady who got to trigger day and realised she didn't have it, then had to cancel the whole thing.

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 27/01/2020 20:05

Good idea. Yep just ticked it all off. I just want to start now!! Got to wait 2 weeks though.

confused107 · 27/01/2020 20:35

Think I'm a little behind some of you. I start the down regulation on 8th of Feb so be early March for me I think. Just competed all of the consents forms tonight. It makes me so nervous. Best of luck to you all xx

luby89k · 27/01/2020 23:35

Hey ladies, hope you don't mind a late joiner, just catching up reading about you all.

I'm doing the long protocol, waiting for my af to arrive Sunday then i believe the days following i should get my meds. I don't however, know which day i start! My EC is scheduled for w/c 16th March which feels like ages away!

Good luck to you alll!!!

luby89k · 27/01/2020 23:36

@confused107 think we are similar timings xx

ChatWithMe · 28/01/2020 07:09

Welcome luby89k. Yes March feels like she's away for me too! Please tell me exactly what drugs you're doing and when so I can get my head around long protocol before my consultant appointment. I wanna ask what they recommend me doing. I have low AMH so likely doing short but nothings certain.

luby89k · 28/01/2020 08:19

@ChatWithMe Yeh can do, no problem. I have low AMH though, they said the long protocol is better so i hopefully get more eggs?? everyone’s different i suppose. xx
