Hi, has anyone had fertility treatment here? What was their experience and success rates? Asking on behalf of a friend who is currently having treatment there for underlining gynaecology issues (fibroids/endometriosis) and she’s been referred here. She’ll be going down the route of donor sperm and possibly donor egg too because of her age (44).

Any feedback from people who have had treatment there would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Hello
Not sure if anyone is still on here?

Has anyone had any treatment by Mr Ganjewar?

I have had a few appointments and I have scar tissue and adhesions that needs to be removed by a hystercopy and then they insert either a balloon or a coil in after to prevent scar tissue reforming. Has anyone had this done at Croydon and with this doctor?

Thank you

JeanieJ · 03/06/2021 09:11

@teaandcake22 🙂 not sure I can be helpful, but I have a q for you.

I'm with Dr Ganjewar and at the beginning stages. I had a HSG a month ago & the follow up appointment with him in mid July (a 2 month wait!).

Were you given a timeframe for your hysterscopy? And how long was it after your HSG?

I ask because the radiologist said that she was happy with my uterus shape & left tube, but that either my right tube was slow or it was obscured by the dye flooding from the left. I feel really left in the dark until I see Dr G. I also had really bad appendicitis as a child so I'm concerned there are some adhesions there and I might need a hysterscopy too.

Hope you're ok 🙂

Thank you for your reply.
I had the procedure mid May and the follow up was end of June which seemed ages. I called and asked to go on their cancellation list just in case. I got a letter with the appointment moved last week. So I would call and ask if you can move your follow up app forward. They said on the phone new apps were opening up so things would start to move. Def worth a call.
He said 3-6 months which was surprised and happy with. So going to wait on the NHS as can't really afford to go private.
Best of luck and thanks for replying.

Hi teaandcake,

I had my hysterscopy with dr Ganjewar, he is very lovely and helpful.

If dr shuba recommend you for a hysterscopy, the waiting list is only one month, and if there’s any cancellations they will call you. My appointment was supposed to be in March but they called me in February.

Has anyone had egg collection and Transfer yet? I would love to hear how u all doing?

teaandcake22 · 05/06/2021 22:11

Good evening,
Thank you for this. That's great news that your appointment was brought forward. My follow up was also brought forward by a month.

Have you had a period yet? Are you going on to IVF? I am lucky have conceived to full term once. I had a miscarriage last year and this is where all of these problems have come from and I also now have PCOS too.

Did he say that your operation was a success?
He seems to be very positive with my case. Really hope he is right!

Mummy5555 · 01/07/2021 19:48

Hi ladies,
How are you all doing?
How’s your treatment? Is anyone had a transfer and egg collection yet?

teaandcake22 · 02/07/2021 12:17

Hello
No treatment as yet. I did follow up with the hospital to email me details of my next procedure, confirm I'm on the waiting list and confirm what they have diagnosed so far. That was a few weeks ago and still waiting for a response.

Has anyone seen or been treated by Dr Gangewar at Croydon?

Best of luck x

PJ77 · 03/07/2021 11:58

Hello there everyone,

New to this forum. Was referred to Croydon clinic and Dr Ganjewar in March. I was seen for ultrasound and blood tests and I believe put forward for a laparoscopy before trying IVF. I understand there is a waiting list but I've not heard from them since April and for love or money can't get through to them on the phone nor do they respond to my emails. I managed to obtain the notes and results of my visit via GDPR and have shown them to a private consultant and I am now booked to have a laparoscopy privately although I would still like to pursue IVF with the clinic at some point.

Has anyone else had issues in trying to get hold of the clinic? It's all very bizarre.

Thanks in advance xx

Mummy5555 · 03/07/2021 23:41

Dear tea and cake and PJ77,

Are u trying to get in touch with the fertility clinic, Dr Shuba? Let me know if you need their contact, I have a direct line.

Has anyone under going IVF treatment had their COVID VACCINE?

PJ77 · 04/07/2021 22:38

Hi Mummy5555,

Thank you, I have the number of the clinic that was on my letter and no one ever answers it just goes to voicemail or has previously said voicemail inbox full! Is there a different number?

PJ77 · 04/07/2021 22:42

Hi @PA93 just seen your post on here about being on a waiting list at Croydon for laparoscopy. Have you heard any more about it? I just posted above about my experience I've not heard from them for ages xx

JeanieJ · 05/07/2021 08:44

Hi @PJ77

I'm having a similar experience to you.
I had a HSG,Ultrasound & AMH blood test in April & early May with no follow up appointment booked in.
I kept pestering them but it kept ringing out or straight to voicemail. I tried many different times of the day and finally got through & the woman said there was an appointment in July for me, but I got no letter or details.
Kept ringing again for more details & after 6 weeks of incessant calling, finally got through to someone and had an appointment letter in the door a week later.
It could be that they have an appointment booked in for you, but haven't sent the letter out? Dr G said that happens sometimes.
I feel really bad hassling them, but the unknowing and unresponsiveness make the anxiety so much worse.
They also didn't respond to my emails. 😬
Hope you get sorted soon!

PJ77 · 05/07/2021 17:45

Thanks @JeanieJ, good to know you finally got through. I will keep persevering!

teaandcake22 · 16/07/2021 07:33

Hi How are you getting on? I left a message on the fertility number and they did call me back a few days later. Definitely keep trying. It might be worth asking if they have any cancellations can you be contacted? I managed to get a cancellation and had a hysteroscopy which I feel incredibly grateful for. Keep trying, good luck x
PJ77 · 18/07/2021 16:49

Hi @teaandcake22

Last week on Weds I had a text from the clinic to say I had a telephone consultation the following morning lol. I spoke to Mr Ganjewar and I'm still on the waiting list for laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, and he gave me a number to call (gynae admissions) to find out where I am on waiting list (then I couldn't get through to them). I spoke to Mr Ganjewar about getting the surgery done privately, and that I can still stay linked with the clinic to pursue IVF with them afterwards. Feeling slightly more optimistic now I've had contact. My private surgery is booked for beginning of August, although if I find out that my wait for the surgery through the clinic is not too long I will likely cancel the private one.

JeanieJ · 19/07/2021 08:44

@PJ77 let us know how you get on with the waiting list?
I had my follow up appt with Dr G last Thursday and he thinks I have a blocked tube, so referred my for a lap and now I'm on the waiting list. He said it would take 3-4 months, so after reading your message I'm a little concerned it's gonna take way longer.
He actually gave me the option of IVF too, but suggested the lap would give me a better chance of conceiving naturally and a chance of conceiving for a second time if I want one.

xx

PJ77 · 19/07/2021 11:22

Hi @JeanieJ

I had to call quite a few times but managed to get through about the waiting list, she couldn't give me an exact number and she said it is very hard to tell how long but the gist was that I'm still quite far down and it could be another month or so until I'm booked in. She did however ask me if I would like to be contacted in case of a last min cancellation to which I said yes. So it may be worth you calling them to confirm that for you too? the ext is 3116.
I've also been looking at the option to go privately through Mr Ganjewar himself for the surgery with Shirley Oaks BMI hospital and just got the quote, which is £1000 less than the Spire hospital and consultant I'm currently booked with. It also looks like I could be slotted in very quickly with him in the next couple of weeks. I think I prefer this as it is at least with my fertility consultant and will be easier to keep things linked. Will keep you posted.

Hi both

I was told a 3-6 month wait (just hystercopy), and got called sooner, so I would definitely advise on asking about cancellations.

Great news you can do a bit private and through the NHS. I would feel more hopeful too. Feels like a good use of time.

Good luck both, keep us posted x

PJ77 · 24/07/2021 00:12

Just to give an update.. I've cancelled my surgery with the other consultant and now booked to have it privately with Mr G from the clinic mid August. One more month of TTC now before the surgery.

JeanieJ · 27/07/2021 13:22

@PJ77 that's good news. Sorry that you have to go private though. Was it very ££?

So, you've basically been waiting since April with no update as to where you are on the waiting list? This doesn't really bode well for me.
I did call them last week, but the lady said she couldn't give me any details and that I wasn't priority, so couldn't be added to cancellation list.
Feeling pretty sad about it. All this waiting and I'm not convinced the lap will help me.

Sileen · 29/07/2021 18:14

Hi girls,I am new here TTC for 7 years. I had a laparoscopic surgery 2 years ago at Croydon hospital with drOfuasa. Now I had a video call with dr Shuba at the fertility clinic. She wants to do scans /bloods the end of August just after my period. I have a blocked tube(hydrosalpinx) which needs to be removed. Other one was removed 2 years ago! Once it is done we'd like to go to IVF. Not sure where to yet, anybody knows how much it is cost at Croydon? Are they really that good as they say? Over 40%succes rate? We can't get founding as we used that 5 years ago.
Is the waiting list for surgery really 3-5 months long?
Is anybody has any news to share?xx

PJ77 · 29/07/2021 18:37

@JeanieJ agh I'm sorry that's so frustrating :-( but yes I had my first appt mid April I think and still on the waiting list with no word. I wonder if Mr G has taken me off it now I'm going private with him. For the laparoscopy and hysteroscopy it is costing just under 4k to go private.

Hi @Sileen! Are they removing your tube entirely? What was the result of your lap surgery 2 years ago, did they find anything? I think Croydon have their prices on the page I came across them once.

Sileen · 29/07/2021 22:37

Thanks for answering ☺️
Yes, I had hydrosalpinx in my other (right)tube and a hematosalpynx in the left. My right fallopian tube was damaged totally and sticked to my bowels. It needed to be removed. They drained the left hoping that I will get pregnant naturally after the surgery which never happened. There was chronic inflammation in my whole uterus. Adhesions on both of my ovaries, which they removed as well. And that's how I went to my first IVF. No wonder why it wasn't successful. My egg quality was rubbish due to the above, and nobody cared to investigate. I was told at age 33 that I need to think of using donor eggs if ever want to be pregnant. It was at Guy's and Thomas's at London bridge.
I see some price list from 2017 or 2018.
