Hi, has anyone had fertility treatment here? What was their experience and success rates? Asking on behalf of a friend who is currently having treatment there for underlining gynaecology issues (fibroids/endometriosis) and she’s been referred here. She’ll be going down the route of donor sperm and possibly donor egg too because of her age (44).

Any feedback from people who have had treatment there would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Jessica05…
Are you doing IVF with Dr Shuba now?
Where are you in your journey?

@Sileen

Thanks for answering ☺️ Yes, I had hydrosalpinx in my other (right)tube and a hematosalpynx in the left. My right fallopian tube was damaged totally and sticked to my bowels. It needed to be removed. They drained the left hoping that I will get pregnant naturally after the surgery which never happened. There was chronic inflammation in my whole uterus. Adhesions on both of my ovaries, which they removed as well. And that's how I went to my first IVF. No wonder why it wasn't successful. My egg quality was rubbish due to the above, and nobody cared to investigate. I was told at age 33 that I need to think of using donor eggs if ever want to be pregnant. It was at Guy's and Thomas's at London bridge. I see some price list from 2017 or 2018.

@Sileen hi I’ve done egg collection?
And you?

Sileen · 30/07/2021 22:34

@Jessica05
I've only had my first appointment with Dr Shuba yesterday. I haven't decided yet where to go to IVf but would love to here your experience with the clinic so far.

Jessica05 · 02/08/2021 23:06

Hi Sileen,
My experience with the clinic is good so far.
But the downside is you always rush in and out with half your questions unanswered.
And had to call them up, to questions them.
If you need any help let me know I would love to help if I can

Sileen · 03/08/2021 05:35

@Jessica05
Thank you!. I am going again the end of August. Will let you know how did it go. X

Hi all lovely ladies,

Can I please ask if anyone had egg collection and transfer yet?

Tillybabs · 18/08/2021 13:53

Hi ladies

I'm also at this hospital and should be starting treatment next month. I've seen Dr Shuba lots of times now for a few scans. She's lovely but I always feel like she rushes it and i don't get all my questions answered.

I'm considering having a private tranvaginal scan done because my HSG showed polyps. Dr Shuba said they are myomas although she kept asking me to come back a few times to look at them again. I don't feel like I have a definite answer on what they are.

Jessica05 · 18/08/2021 21:23

Hi Tily, welcome to the group. You should ask doctor subha to book you in for a hysterscopy for further investigation.

PJ77 · 18/08/2021 21:37

Hello all, I had a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy today with Mr G, I think it went well. He found and removed 'moderate' endometriosis, two polyps in my womb, and two endometriomas. He also did a dye test on my tubes to check for blockages there, they were found to be clear but apparently even if there is no blockage- flushing them with the dye can improve chances. Feeling happy that something was found and removed. Am still in line to have IVF with the clinic but will be trying naturally for 3 more months to see if these procedures have an impact. Crossing everything.

Tillybabs · 18/08/2021 22:02

@Jessica05 thank you I'm going to ask her about this on Friday. My HSG showed polyps but she says they aren't polyps. I would rather they do a further check before I commence treatment.

Jessica05 · 18/08/2021 22:14

@PJ77 that’s great your hysterscopy went well.
Even tho mine they didn’t see nothing, everything was fine. I went ahead with the IVF treatment.

@Tillybabs if you ask her, she will do it, just mention to her that the hsg showed polyps and you don’t want to start the Ivf treatment and stop half way.

Tillybabs · 18/08/2021 22:20

@Jessica05 that is my main concern tbh. I will definitely do that thank you.

Tillybabs · 18/08/2021 22:27

I'm on a couple other threads on here but just discovered this one.

I'm supposed to be starting IVF medication when I have my period in September at Croydon but will ask for the hysterocopy first.

We've been approved for funding etc. I've been told egg collection etc will be done at a clinic in Harley Street.

I'm glad I found this thread and will follow and update. Good luck everyone on your journeys.

PJ77 · 19/08/2021 09:06

@Jessica05 good luck with your IVF! Keep in contact x

@Tillybabs hope all goes well for you too. I agree try and get a hysteroscopy, hopefully the wait for that won't be too long.

What is the process like/ timeline you have both experienced at Croydon for getting IVF, including applying for the funding? Xx

Jessica05 · 19/08/2021 09:21

@PJ77 the timeline was really quick for me. The Only wait is waiting for my period to come.

But Iv heard the waiting time is a bit long now, correct me if I’m wrong?

Tillybabs · 19/08/2021 09:22

@PJ77 the process for me has been really quick and generally I've found the clinic really good at arranging my scans, appointments etc. I was referred around March this year but I think being over 40 has meant I've been dealt with quicker.

Tillybabs · 19/08/2021 11:14

@PJ77 I'm glad yours went well and fingers crossed flushing your tubes helps. How long did you have to wait for the hysterocopy?

I must say generally, waiting times have been really good so far.

PJ77 · 19/08/2021 11:20

Thanks both. I just spoke to Mr Ganjewar and I'm being booked in for consultation with the nurse to get IVF process started. He said the same as you that it can be quite quick so fingers crossed.

@Tillybabs I was on the waiting list at Croydon for both laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, since April. It was taking a long time so I actually ended up going privately with Mr G for the op which took place at Shirley Oaks. However I think other ladies on here have said the wait for the hysteroscopy alone is not too bad though, maybe it was the lap that was causing the long delay for me!

Tillybabs · 19/08/2021 11:37

@PJ77 gosh that's a long time! I will see what the Dr says tomorrow when I have my follow up appointment.

Tillybabs · 19/08/2021 11:38

@PJ77 as for the ivf appointment, it will all start to happen quite quickly now. Exciting times for you.

Jessica05 · 19/08/2021 15:26

@Tillybabs what time is your appointment tomorrow?
Mine is tomorrow as well.

Tillybabs · 19/08/2021 15:33

@Jessica05 mine is at 11.30 tomorrow, it's a telephone call.

Jessica05 · 20/08/2021 13:48

@Tillybabs I hope you are well..
I had my appointment at 9am today, it was a one to one appointment.
